Gift biz unwrapped episode 11.
Speaker:Hi, this is John Lee Dumas of entrepreneur on fire,
Speaker:and you're listening to the gift of biz unwrapped.
Speaker:And now it's time to light it up.
Speaker:Welcome To gift biz,
Speaker:unwrapped your source for industry specific insights and advice to develop
Speaker:and grow your business.
Speaker:And now here's your host,
Speaker:Sue Monheit.
Speaker:Hi there.
Speaker:I'm Sue and welcome to the gift biz unwrapped podcast.
Speaker:Whether You want own a brick and mortar store sell online
Speaker:or just getting started,
Speaker:you'll discover new insight to gain traction and to grow your
Speaker:business. And today I am thrilled to introduce you to Susie
Speaker:Schuster and Jill Baylock Susie and Jill are co-owners of the
Speaker:cookie joint.
Speaker:Susie is a former mosaic artist,
Speaker:and Jill is a former jewelry designer.
Speaker:Their creativity and love for baking is what brought them together.
Speaker:The cookie joint,
Speaker:as you can certainly tell by its name is all about
Speaker:cookies, but it's way more than you think you have to
Speaker:envision these cookies.
Speaker:Their signature products are cookie fries.
Speaker:These are shaped and served like crinkle,
Speaker:cut French fries,
Speaker:and have delicious dips that accompany them.
Speaker:The cookies can be purchased as gifts.
Speaker:And they're also very popular at events and celebrations.
Speaker:Now listen to this in October,
Speaker:2014, the cookie joint was on Oprah's own list.
Speaker:Susie and Jill recently filmed a food network show called food
Speaker:fortunes, and they are also featured in American airlines in flight
Speaker:magazine. Clearly this unique cookie concept has taken off.
Speaker:They say their food and entertainment background has landed them right
Speaker:where they want to be.
Speaker:Welcome to the show,
Speaker:Susie and gel.
Speaker:Thank you.
Speaker:Thanks. I'm thrilled that you're with me.
Speaker:Is there anything you'd like to add before we get started?
Speaker:I think you covered it pretty well.
Speaker:Just our love for baking and our desire to come up
Speaker:with something new and fun is what really helped us create
Speaker:our cookie fries.
Speaker:And I think we bring a lot together with our sense
Speaker:of humor.
Speaker:I think that's definitely key in the kitchen and with our
Speaker:packaging and promotion.
Speaker:It's all about having fun and lots of smiles,
Speaker:right? That's a really good point because clearly when you're co
Speaker:owners, it brings a whole new layer to ownership of a
Speaker:business. Cause you guys have to get along too,
Speaker:Right? Yes,
Speaker:no. We're with each other practically 24 7.
Speaker:So, so you have to think of that more than even
Speaker:your husband,
Speaker:right? Exactly.
Speaker:Well, it definitely,
Speaker:we fight like sisters As our listeners know,
Speaker:we align the conversation here around the life of a motivational
Speaker:candle. The light's going to shine on you too,
Speaker:while you share your stories and experiences.
Speaker:So shall we light it up?
Speaker:Fabulous. What color is your candle?
Speaker:Our candle is purple because purple represents creativity.
Speaker:It's different.
Speaker:It really surprises people.
Speaker:It's not a color that is just there.
Speaker:It really stands out.
Speaker:And what's the motivational quote that would be on your purple
Speaker:candle. Our motivational quote is one from Steve jobs and it's
Speaker:sell dreams,
Speaker:not products for us.
Speaker:It's not totally just about a product or delicious cookies.
Speaker:It's about creating a fond experience for people,
Speaker:whether you're sending the cookies or receiving them,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:it's a reflection on us and our creativity gift giver,
Speaker:how creative they are,
Speaker:or they're in the know to find something new and different.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:the way the cookies are packaged,
Speaker:the way they look,
Speaker:it's fun.
Speaker:And it's a really great experience and so different.
Speaker:So different.
Speaker:Let's Go back to the beginning and really for all of
Speaker:our listeners,
Speaker:if you have a chance to go on the website and
Speaker:see what the product looks like,
Speaker:you'll understand even more.
Speaker:They're just fabulous.
Speaker:But since we're a podcast and you're just listening right now
Speaker:and you'll need to do that of course later,
Speaker:but let's go back Susie and Jill,
Speaker:how did you get this concept and bring this whole thing
Speaker:together in the very beginning?
Speaker:Okay. So Joel and I both loved baking and we wanted
Speaker:to start a cookie company.
Speaker:I'm like you had mentioned before,
Speaker:we're both very creative.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:Joel was into jewelry design and I was,
Speaker:I'm a mosaic artist.
Speaker:But prior to that in a past life,
Speaker:Jill was managing restaurants before she had children.
Speaker:And my husband is an event planner and I worked with
Speaker:him. So we were both into the creative aspects and we
Speaker:both love baking and understand the kitchen and what it takes
Speaker:to really make things work.
Speaker:So when we decided to open a cookie company,
Speaker:we wanted a signature cookie,
Speaker:something that stood out,
Speaker:something that was ours alone and something that was fun and
Speaker:different, not just your regular chocolate chip cookie,
Speaker:which I delicious,
Speaker:which we also make delicious.
Speaker:Exactly. So French fry cookies,
Speaker:like where did that come from?
Speaker:So we both love French fries and we both loved cookies.
Speaker:So we said,
Speaker:why don't we make a cookie that looks like a French
Speaker:fry, which was very challenging because all of our cookies currently
Speaker:are cut by hand.
Speaker:And let me interject that.
Speaker:First of all,
Speaker:shame, you know,
Speaker:we thought,
Speaker:okay, most cookies around.
Speaker:So let's go with a different shape.
Speaker:And so then we thought,
Speaker:okay, stick.
Speaker:Well, breadsticks,
Speaker:that's not fun.
Speaker:And it's funny because we just sat around having silly conversations.
Speaker:And as like you,
Speaker:before the gas chamber,
Speaker:I want French fries and pizza,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:and, and we just had this fun back and forth kind
Speaker:of dialogue.
Speaker:And then it just kind of like halo,
Speaker:You knew you weren't going to do a traditional cookie.
Speaker:Right. You were brainstorming.
Speaker:We do also do gourmet classic cookies,
Speaker:but our cookie fries,
Speaker:our signature cookies.
Speaker:So yeah,
Speaker:we wanted a signature cookie for our company.
Speaker:So once you arrived on that French fry,
Speaker:did you guys both like light up and say that That's
Speaker:it, we got very excited,
Speaker:really excited and then making it work was challenging,
Speaker:but fun and exciting also.
Speaker:Yeah, it just became so much fun because one idea led
Speaker:to another to another and it was like,
Speaker:and then the different flavors and the different dips,
Speaker:it was just,
Speaker:yeah, we're still doing,
Speaker:we're still creating new flavors and new dip.
Speaker:You probably always will.
Speaker:It will always evolve.
Speaker:Right. That's the fun part,
Speaker:right? Yeah.
Speaker:That's the part we love,
Speaker:right? Yeah.
Speaker:So You've had a lot of acknowledgement of the product and
Speaker:you guys are clearly happy and love what you're doing,
Speaker:but we all know that it's not an easy path to
Speaker:get to where you are.
Speaker:Things get difficult and challenging.
Speaker:Can you bring us to a time when that flame,
Speaker:that excitement about your business started to flicker and you kind
Speaker:of thought like,
Speaker:oh my gosh,
Speaker:what are we doing?
Speaker:Tell us a story about what happened and how you overcame
Speaker:one of these challenges.
Speaker:Well, I think our biggest challenge was our packaging and shipping.
Speaker:Cause you know,
Speaker:we are an online company,
Speaker:not brick and mortar and we ship everything all over the
Speaker:country and our cookies are fragile.
Speaker:It's a shortbread cookie.
Speaker:And so our packaging was our biggest challenge.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:we've sent up cookies.
Speaker:I think Joel can tell you the story about when we
Speaker:did them for her niece,
Speaker:for her wedding,
Speaker:my niece,
Speaker:I was so excited.
Speaker:She loved our product and she actually is a party planner.
Speaker:And so this was something she wanted to give as a
Speaker:giveaway she's in California wine country was where her wedding was.
Speaker:And I sent the cookies a week in advance.
Speaker:They do have a great shelf life just to make sure
Speaker:if there's any problems,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:we can fix it.
Speaker:And a lot of them came broken.
Speaker:We were like,
Speaker:oh my God.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:and she had 200 guests and I thought,
Speaker:how am I going to bring 200 cookies on the plane?
Speaker:I did carry them on the plane.
Speaker:And I was traveling with four other people.
Speaker:So it worked out fine.
Speaker:But from that moment on,
Speaker:we then had to figure out how are we going to
Speaker:ship these since we're an online company and that's how we
Speaker:do it.
Speaker:Right? So packaging them was very challenging.
Speaker:And we knew we had to change our packaging to make
Speaker:sure that the end product got to the customer,
Speaker:how we sent it and environment friendly.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:that's really important to us.
Speaker:The peanuts we use are made from corn starch,
Speaker:which is really fun.
Speaker:You put them in the sink,
Speaker:you run water.
Speaker:And there goes all those peanuts,
Speaker:which is nice.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:when you're getting one of these packages,
Speaker:we would take the batches.
Speaker:Once we filled it with cookies and our packaging stand up
Speaker:on a chair,
Speaker:try to get as high as the ceiling and then just
Speaker:drop the box for testing purposes.
Speaker:It's just not cookie cutter sending out good idea.
Speaker:But yeah,
Speaker:it's very childish.
Speaker:It's packaging and shipping.
Speaker:It's like a 10 step process.
Speaker:It's very labor intensive to ensure that the product gets there
Speaker:in good shape.
Speaker:It's necessary.
Speaker:It's necessary for the success of the business if a lot
Speaker:of it's shipping.
Speaker:Right, right,
Speaker:right. I mean,
Speaker:honestly, these are definitely made with love.
Speaker:We cut each cookie by hand,
Speaker:we pack them.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:it's all very well thought out and labor intensive,
Speaker:but you know,
Speaker:when we get those comments from people,
Speaker:it makes it all worthwhile.
Speaker:It's amazing.
Speaker:Right. The emails that we get are just,
Speaker:yeah, it's great.
Speaker:Well, and this speaks a lot to the point that you
Speaker:really have to test every single step along the way in
Speaker:your production.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:it's a good thing that you found out that,
Speaker:that week,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:the shipping issue was a weakness at that point.
Speaker:So you knew that and could fix it as you went
Speaker:forward. Right.
Speaker:And luckily it was early enough in our stage there that
Speaker:we didn't have a lot of problems going forward after that.
Speaker:But yeah,
Speaker:that was a wake up call.
Speaker:You share with us a promotion or some type of an
Speaker:event that you did that made a difference.
Speaker:In other words,
Speaker:it either brought in new customers or increased your sales or
Speaker:did something to help move the business.
Speaker:Yeah. I would have to say being in Oprah's magazine,
Speaker:she did a,
Speaker:a, like you mentioned earlier,
Speaker:a full page on us and her old list in her
Speaker:October issue.
Speaker:And that was like,
Speaker:wow, it opened the flood gates.
Speaker:So how Did that come about?
Speaker:Did they just call you one day?
Speaker:No, we had done cookies for one of her producers in
Speaker:Chicago and she had told us,
Speaker:can you send these cookies to Adam Glassman?
Speaker:Who is the editor,
Speaker:one of the editors of all magazine.
Speaker:And we sent him the cookies out thinking anything of it.
Speaker:And he called us personally telling us how much he loved
Speaker:the cookies and how great they were.
Speaker:And that was the end of it.
Speaker:And then about three months later,
Speaker:three to six months later,
Speaker:we got a phone call from the staff that they wanted
Speaker:to put it on the oldest.
Speaker:Oh my gosh.
Speaker:Which of you got that phone call?
Speaker:You know what?
Speaker:I don't know.
Speaker:I don't remember.
Speaker:Did you guys totally freak out?
Speaker:Oh my God.
Speaker:And then they kept saying,
Speaker:know, you know,
Speaker:you don't know when or,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:if, and yeah,
Speaker:you never know because,
Speaker:well, they do it.
Speaker:And then Juul was out of town.
Speaker:She was visiting her,
Speaker:her son,
Speaker:I believe.
Speaker:And the magazine came out and I went to Barnes and
Speaker:noble to get the magazine because they never,
Speaker:they said they were going to send it to us and
Speaker:they never did that.
Speaker:She goes,
Speaker:I think you're going to like it though.
Speaker:And I opened up the magazine.
Speaker:It was the full page.
Speaker:And it was like,
Speaker:I was like in shock.
Speaker:I was telling people,
Speaker:this is my cookie company.
Speaker:What happened was we started getting all these orders and I
Speaker:was out of town and Susie called me and said,
Speaker:Joe, I think the Oprah issue came out because someone emailed
Speaker:me and said the promo code isn't working.
Speaker:And in that ish,
Speaker:we had a promo code and we thought really,
Speaker:cause, you know,
Speaker:they told us when they,
Speaker:we sent the cookies for a photo shoot,
Speaker:if it works in that issue,
Speaker:you're in no till then.
Speaker:Yeah. But also at the October issue.
Speaker:But what they didn't tell us as the subscribers get it
Speaker:in September.
Speaker:So all these things started coming together.
Speaker:And so she said,
Speaker:well, I'm going to go see if I can get the
Speaker:magazine and see if we're in it.
Speaker:We must be.
Speaker:And we made the front cover of the old list.
Speaker:So it was pretty big.
Speaker:Yeah. It was huge.
Speaker:So really that's how we found out.
Speaker:But I think also with an online company,
Speaker:when we were in American airlines,
Speaker:they wrote a little article about us.
Speaker:That was really huge too,
Speaker:because we are an online company and national,
Speaker:we were able to have people in California,
Speaker:New York,
Speaker:Dallas, all over the country learn about us.
Speaker:That was pretty huge.
Speaker:Yeah. But I would probably say the biggest was,
Speaker:oh yeah.
Speaker:The old magazine.
Speaker:Talk about that just for one more second,
Speaker:because you all,
Speaker:everyone hears about,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:the Oprah effect,
Speaker:quote unquote.
Speaker:Right. Did you guys do any preparation in terms of being
Speaker:ready for those orders?
Speaker:When they came in?
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:We didn't know it was going to be in,
Speaker:but we got ready quick.
Speaker:Were you able to handle the value?
Speaker:Yes. Yes.
Speaker:We work pretty quick.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:we have helped.
Speaker:So it was,
Speaker:so You didn't have to do any additional preparation because you
Speaker:were already able to produce the volumes that you would Have
Speaker:needed. Right?
Speaker:Well, we work half day in the kitchen in the morning
Speaker:and then the second half of the day we're shipping out.
Speaker:So we just needed to bake that much more and yeah,
Speaker:we were able to handle it.
Speaker:We like to get the orders out within 24 hours and
Speaker:we were still able to do that,
Speaker:which was great,
Speaker:such An exciting time.
Speaker:And that was I'm sure.
Speaker:Yes, yes.
Speaker:Right. So on the customer service end and this'll be interesting,
Speaker:especially because you're online.
Speaker:How do you make your customers feel unique and important?
Speaker:And Well,
Speaker:first of all,
Speaker:when the customers do call in Susie and I make sure
Speaker:to answer the phone so firsthand,
Speaker:we always get to talk to everybody.
Speaker:If they're going to place an order over the phone,
Speaker:or if they call us,
Speaker:if it is placed online,
Speaker:Susie or I are always the one who emails people and
Speaker:tell them their tracking number and tell them,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:thank you.
Speaker:We appreciate your business and receive it when they'll receive it.
Speaker:So we do everything within our power to make sure that
Speaker:everyone feels special handwritten cards out our gift baskets.
Speaker:Yes. Handwritten cards,
Speaker:every thing is personalized with us.
Speaker:And I think the customer feels it when they placed an
Speaker:order with us.
Speaker:And so do you Have a lot of repeat business then
Speaker:because of that customization?
Speaker:Oh yes.
Speaker:Yes, definitely.
Speaker:And repeat business,
Speaker:but we always get a lot of business.
Speaker:Like someone will call and say,
Speaker:they just got the basket and they want to send us
Speaker:someone else.
Speaker:So we get a lot of business from people who've gotten
Speaker:baskets. Okay.
Speaker:We're going to move now into our reflection section.
Speaker:This is a look at you.
Speaker:And what you guys think has helped you to succeed along
Speaker:the way.
Speaker:If you had to think of one natural trait that you
Speaker:have, that's led you to succeed,
Speaker:what would that be?
Speaker:I'm definitely a people pleaser.
Speaker:And I think Joel is also,
Speaker:so I really think that has helped us.
Speaker:We want to make people happy.
Speaker:We don't like conflict.
Speaker:I think we handle things quickly and smoothly.
Speaker:And I think that helps a lot.
Speaker:Have you ever had an issue where a customer has had
Speaker:concerns or been less than happy?
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:if, if someone says they didn't get their package and now
Speaker:we've, they've missed the holiday or something like that,
Speaker:which of course is now is in our control because we
Speaker:do our part,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:we don't like a bad experience.
Speaker:So whether we say next time,
Speaker:a percentage off,
Speaker:we do anything we can to make a negative experience.
Speaker:Positive. That's A good point,
Speaker:Jill, because like you said,
Speaker:even if it's not in your control,
Speaker:they still relate it to your business.
Speaker:So if there's some,
Speaker:if there's something that you can do over and above,
Speaker:like you're saying,
Speaker:and your solution is perfect because then they're coming back to
Speaker:you again.
Speaker:And most likely they won't have delivery issues,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:the second time.
Speaker:Right. So,
Speaker:but it sounds like you guys really,
Speaker:you listened to your customers and you make sure that they
Speaker:walk away feeling good about the experience in whatever manner You
Speaker:need to.
Speaker:We've changed shipping companies to save 70 cents on a shipping
Speaker:for our customers because shipping is so high,
Speaker:anything that we could save them,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:we're happy to do.
Speaker:So we even switched companies to do that.
Speaker:I guess I won't ask you right now who you're using,
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:shipping is that is one of my challenges because people are
Speaker:used to seeing free shipping and we always think,
Speaker:how can someone do it either if you're not an Amazon,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:I see a lot of people may be padded in the
Speaker:cost of their product,
Speaker:which we don't do.
Speaker:And that is a criticism that we do get from customers
Speaker:is, you know,
Speaker:your shipping is so expensive and it's not always in our
Speaker:control, but we do the best we can,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:to cut down costs,
Speaker:wherever that is.
Speaker:And then you provide a top quality product with fabulous service
Speaker:and they have to pay for the whole package.
Speaker:Right. So what tool do you guys use regularly that helps
Speaker:you stay productive or helps you maintain balance in your very
Speaker:busy lives Exercise?
Speaker:You know what?
Speaker:We've always made it a point and we tried to do
Speaker:it every day.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:of course,
Speaker:some days you can't,
Speaker:but we try and walk every morning,
Speaker:Joel and I together.
Speaker:And when we clear our minds,
Speaker:we talk about business and we talk and family,
Speaker:whatever, but we are instead of sitting at the desk and
Speaker:talking about it,
Speaker:we'd rather go take a walk.
Speaker:Oh, that's smart.
Speaker:So you're,
Speaker:it's kind of like a business walk,
Speaker:Right? Exactly.
Speaker:Oh, definitely exercise in.
Speaker:And we still get our business taken care of.
Speaker:So we could still get our phone calls.
Speaker:We have our phones and it's really helped us a lot
Speaker:with the balance.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:you got to stay strong and healthy and exercise is key
Speaker:to that.
Speaker:Absolutely. Especially with the challenges of business brings,
Speaker:there Can be a lot of stress,
Speaker:lots of stress,
Speaker:especially eating cookies.
Speaker:Right. I don't think that's too stressful exercise.
Speaker:There you go.
Speaker:There you go.
Speaker:What book have you read lately that you think our listeners
Speaker:would find value in One book?
Speaker:And it's funny because it's really not why we got it.
Speaker:My mother has great recommendations and one book she recommended was
Speaker:how to bake a perfect life by Barbara O'Neill.
Speaker:And I,
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:as soon as he read it,
Speaker:so yeah,
Speaker:we really liked it a lot.
Speaker:It's it's,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:it's, it has personal struggles.
Speaker:It has relationships,
Speaker:happiness, you know,
Speaker:to me,
Speaker:a good book is you can cry,
Speaker:you can laugh and you love the characters that takes you
Speaker:away. And this book really does it all.
Speaker:And it's also about baking.
Speaker:So she's a bread baker.
Speaker:So we're also able to relate.
Speaker:Yes. It ties it all together,
Speaker:right? Yeah.
Speaker:Well, just as you are listening to the podcast today,
Speaker:you can also listen to audio books with ease.
Speaker:I've teamed up with audible for you to get an audio
Speaker:book like Susie and Jill are recommending for free.
Speaker:All you need to do is go to gift biz,
Speaker:book.com and make a selection.
Speaker:That's gift biz,
Speaker:book.com. Now I want to add one more thing in here
Speaker:just because I think it's so important and we touched on
Speaker:it in the beginning,
Speaker:but before we go to the very end of the interview,
Speaker:I just want to ask you guys,
Speaker:cause you have such a good vibe between the two of
Speaker:you. Are there any recommendations you would give to somebody who
Speaker:is going into or already is in a partnership situation with
Speaker:their business,
Speaker:any tips or clues on how you guys have made it
Speaker:work? Yeah,
Speaker:I think it's important to listen to one another and be
Speaker:open to try new things or,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:it's a give and take.
Speaker:Yeah, it's definitely important.
Speaker:And then if someone,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:needs time off,
Speaker:I just really,
Speaker:you want your partner to be happy and it's also you,
Speaker:the reason I think you have a partner is to bounce
Speaker:off ideas,
Speaker:to share,
Speaker:to help when the other person needs help,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:to stand in for them,
Speaker:if they need to take off whatever it is,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:to make a smooth working environment.
Speaker:Susie, That's a good benefit to a partnership too,
Speaker:is you do have someone who's totally in the know of
Speaker:every aspect of the business where you really can bounce ideas
Speaker:and support each other all the way along.
Speaker:And I think also,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:what I'm hearing from you guys is really this message that
Speaker:it's not Jill's business.
Speaker:It's not Susie's business,
Speaker:it's your business together.
Speaker:So there's there's ownership,
Speaker:but there's still that overlay of the joint partnership,
Speaker:Right? Yeah.
Speaker:We try not to say it's her idea or her idea.
Speaker:It's our idea.
Speaker:And also it's like,
Speaker:not, well,
Speaker:you should do this and then I'll do that.
Speaker:And you know,
Speaker:we know what needs to get done and we do it
Speaker:and it doesn't matter who does it.
Speaker:That's good.
Speaker:Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker:Cause you're all,
Speaker:you're both going for the same end result.
Speaker:Exactly. That's a lot of,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:uncompromising and Oh yeah.
Speaker:Compromising along the way too.
Speaker:Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker:But in the end it's a stronger business for it,
Speaker:Correct? Yeah,
Speaker:definitely. Yeah.
Speaker:Okay. We are going to circle to the end here and
Speaker:I'm going to bring you to the dare to dream question.
Speaker:I'd like to present you with a virtual gift.
Speaker:It's a magic box containing unlimited possibilities for your future.
Speaker:This is a dream or goal of almost unreachable Heights that
Speaker:you would wish to obtain.
Speaker:Please accept this gift and open it in our presence.
Speaker:What is inside?
Speaker:Okay. Oh my God.
Speaker:Thank you.
Speaker:Yes. Thank you.
Speaker:Notes from people around the world,
Speaker:letting us know how much they enjoy our cookies and has
Speaker:brought a simple moment of,
Speaker:and a smile to their face.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:really that,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:when we get these emails from people,
Speaker:really nothing makes us happier.
Speaker:We love yeah.
Speaker:Getting these,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:the thank you is and how they enjoy it and how
Speaker:their kids or their grandkids or their husband or their wife
Speaker:loved gum.
Speaker:And thank you so much that makes us so happy.
Speaker:That'd be a,
Speaker:a great thing to receive.
Speaker:And the fact that it's all over the world,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:that our cookies have spread that far.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:and this goes back to your quote too,
Speaker:that it's not all about the product.
Speaker:It's about the emotion and the experience that your product provides.
Speaker:Exactly. But typically in a new business,
Speaker:because you,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:it's not about the money because you know,
Speaker:it takes time.
Speaker:So you really doing this for other reasons and that's a
Speaker:huge one for us.
Speaker:Got it.
Speaker:So if our listeners want to go online and take a
Speaker:look at these fabulous cookies and possibly place an order,
Speaker:where would they go?
Speaker:They would go to the cookie joint.com.
Speaker:Okay. And joint is J O I N T.
Speaker:Then you'll be able to see all the cookies,
Speaker:what they look like,
Speaker:how cool they're packaged and all of that,
Speaker:correct? Yes.
Speaker:And gift biz listeners.
Speaker:If you jump over to gift biz,
Speaker:unwrapped.com, you will find the show notes page for Susie and
Speaker:Jill. And there I'll also have their website,
