Hey, everyone. Diving into another episode of Get Seen with Leilani
Speaker:Wells. Thank you so much for joining us for yet another
Speaker:season, another episode, all the things. It means so much.
Speaker:You know, as I learn to podcast. I mean, I'm guessing on quite
Speaker:a few podcasts and have been for years, but you guys
Speaker:sticking with me as I learn and grow through each episode, how to
Speaker:get better with all of the things. Reading the show notes and the audio and
Speaker:all the different things, it just really means so much because I just love
Speaker:sharing my expertise in this form. So thank you for
Speaker:joining. Okay, so jumping in. I wanted to
Speaker:talk to you guys right now about why it's
Speaker:super important to understand that visibility is not social
Speaker:media. Social media is one aspect of it. And
Speaker:I used to be known as a social media strategist, a social media expert,
Speaker:because I am. However, the thing about that is
Speaker:I don't get all my business from social media. And I don't want
Speaker:anyone to not know that. I want people to know that. I want people to
Speaker:understand that visibility and marketing is about what works for you.
Speaker:And that is especially why I call myself a strategist and make it
Speaker:known that I am a strategist. Because when people come to
Speaker:me, I want to see what is their
Speaker:personalized thing, what is their personalized
Speaker:way of moving in marketing that we should go, what's the
Speaker:direction. A lot of times people want to think there's
Speaker:one way or something worked for one person, so it's going to work for them.
Speaker:And I always tell people, can you do what Beyonce
Speaker:does to drive the point home as fast
Speaker:as possible? I mean, really, we can't all market and
Speaker:be visible in the same ways and have it work the same ways
Speaker:and have us enjoy it the same ways as other people
Speaker:do. I like podcasting. I like talking to you guys
Speaker:through this medium. Some people may not like it as effective as it
Speaker:is. If they don't like it, it doesn't mean that they can't market. There's
Speaker:so many ways to be visible right now. And some
Speaker:people even send things in the mail still. And I think that is a
Speaker:great strategy for the people that it's working for.
Speaker:I love receiving things in the mail and sending things in the mail. I
Speaker:use that. I still mail my friends things. I still use
Speaker:that, right? Realtors still send out things in the mail and it works. My
Speaker:Realtor got me through all the stuff he sent me in the mail
Speaker:so often. So I think it's just really important that people
Speaker:think of this in a holistic fashion. Not just like, okay, she
Speaker:talks about marketing or he talks about marketing, and now we're talking about social media
Speaker:and that's it. And think about it this way. So I'll give you an
Speaker:example of how social media has been a confirmation for
Speaker:me, but not the way the client came. So I've had
Speaker:people that I've met in person many, many times throughout
Speaker:events and maybe over zoomed or referred by someone, amanda on a
Speaker:phone call, all these different ways. And then that is their first
Speaker:impression of me. Now, I want to make sure that they have multiple
Speaker:exposures, but I don't want to hound them and call them every day. So instead
Speaker:of just being old school about it and just exchanging phone
Speaker:numbers, I find out what their favorite platform is and then
Speaker:follow them on their platform. They follow me. And now all of the stuff that
Speaker:I'm doing on social media, they can see. So it's multiple
Speaker:exposures. Now, back in the day, it took eight to 15 exposures to make
Speaker:a sale. Well, now we're over consuming and the market's
Speaker:so, I mean, people are getting marketed to in elevators, right? You're
Speaker:in an elevator in some fancy place, and they have TVs playing in there with
Speaker:commercials sometimes, so it never
Speaker:ends. We're being marketed to on cell phones. In the past, we didn't even have
Speaker:phones on us. So how are you going to get seen?
Speaker:Well, you're going to get seen if there are multiple exposures happening. So what
Speaker:I love about social media is that's the confirmation that's the way where you
Speaker:can be in front of them more times than you would have been, than just
Speaker:exchanging that phone number. But it doesn't necessarily
Speaker:mean that you're going to get business just from
Speaker:social media or just from an email blast or just from one touch
Speaker:point. There gets to be multiple touch points.
Speaker:Okay. So I just wanted to drive that
Speaker:point home that we want to start looking at marketing
Speaker:as a form of communication and start really seeing like,
Speaker:okay, if one form of communication isn't working or it can be
Speaker:expanded on, where should we go from there and then
Speaker:go from there? Move and shake and
Speaker:experiment and talk. When you come
Speaker:from a place of, you know what, this has to be done, or I'm excited
Speaker:about something, then you keep thinking of new ways to do
Speaker:it. With more ease. With more ease. All
Speaker:right. Okay. So if you have any questions, I would love to hear
Speaker:what your thoughts are on this episode. I don't think I ever asked for those
Speaker:thoughts, but right now I really would love to hear your thoughts on that
Speaker:questions, all the things. So feel free to reach out. I'd love to hear from
Speaker:you and we will see you on the next episode.
Speaker:And be sure to get your ticket to the Holiday Entrepreneur Summit. This is all
Speaker:stuff we cover there. And not only that, but I don't
Speaker:believe in not having a good time, so,
Speaker:I mean, we can learn and have a good time. And
Speaker:the 16th is the main event, the main day. It's only
Speaker:4 hours. I'm not trying to have us sitting on the computer screen for hours
Speaker:on end. And honestly, you'll probably be wanting more time because
Speaker:we're raffling stuff off in between all the speakers. We have
Speaker:a lot of raffles. That's kind of my thing.
Speaker:The raffles are primarily business related and fun
Speaker:related. Like the Wine Concierge is giving a bundle, so there's things that you
Speaker:can really use going into your business and the holiday season and all that
Speaker:stuff. And last year, I think everybody won something.
Speaker:It's going to be a blast, but at the same time, you're going to get
Speaker:everything you need for marketing to have success in 2024. So we'll
Speaker:see you there.
