Shownotes

Today we discuss how the current lockdown and remote learning could change the education system forever.

Batsheva Frankel, MAT, is a veteran teacher of over 25 years. In 2011, she began developing the award-winning LaunchBox products, which are games and activities that explore big philosophical ideas.

She is also the creator of Lenses of Questioning, a methodology for helping students develop critical and analytical thinking skills. Batsheva has given classes and workshops for educators all over the US and UK, including at the Deeper-Learning Conference, The California Association for the Gifted, GameLevelLearnCon, Limmud Festival and NewCAJE. She designs curriculum and creative programming, as well as mentors teachers for institutions across the US.

From her long-time teaching and administrative gig at Areté Preparatory Academy, Batsheva and the head of Areté Prep, Jim Hahn, formed The Areté Institute in Los Angeles to actively participate in and contribute to the larger conversation about what great education could and should be and how to make it happen.

As director of The Areté Institute, Batsheva produces and hosts the podcast Overthrowing Education as well creates programming for both educators and parents. Her book, The Jewish Educator’s Companion: Practical Tools and Inspirational Ideas was published in 2017 (Behrman House)
