10:30 – So it's interesting, I mean, there's a lot of problems in the world today. But there is no better time to be alive, right?! Think about it, we can create in the way that's easiest for us. For me, it's the same way, over podcasts, I can talk. But you know, writing a blog, that's a homework assignment, but we can talk and then we can repurpose it either with technology or the people helping us and make blogs out of it, make videos out of it, etc. You know, I always say if I talk for 45 minutes, my team can find like two minutes of genius in there.
21:15 - I have gone through a few microphones and always want to sound better. If you talk you want the good quality, right? In podcasting, we must take pride in our audio quality.
29:45 - There's a great marketing phrase out there, you're just one funnel away. I also think it's the biggest lie out there, because what works for small transactions does not work for high ticket relationship sales? Everybody keeps saying, oh, you're just one funnel away. Tell me Scott, the best things in your life, right, does your wife come through a funnel? Ha!
34:00 – Well, I had a client that came to me and I said, well, why do you want to do podcast interview marketing? I loved his answer. He was a high level consultant. He said, because he thinks most of digital marketing today is the equivalent of advertising above urinals.
40:00 – Even if it's all automated and a funnel, it doesn't matter because you're wasting their time. It's like, why don't you get five leads and five customers? That's one of the things I love about podcasting. Somebody's listening to you. You're either their guy or you're not. If you are great, then they reach out to you and ask how can we work together. They self select, but if you're not a good fit for him, then fine, but let's figure that out early on. Because at the end of the day, we don't need more leads, we need more need more sales.
52:00 – For example, we just mentioned Sopranos. There was a seasonality to it. Each season can change in the theme, so you're not locked in. So this season, we can talk about health this season, or we talked about business. So as different things come up, you can focus on it.
01:15:00 – Final Words
The thing that's on my heart right now is we all know something that is ordinary to us and is amazing to other people, right? Through our lives, through our experiences, through our mistakes, we've learned things. We are blessed to be a blessing. So I believe that we've got a responsibility to share that with other people. What they do with it is up to them. But you know, I used to be able to say, well, if I got up to the pearly gates, and and they say, you were taught all these things, well, how come you didn't teach somebody else that I could say, well, you don't understand. I live in southwest Michigan. There's nobody around me to teach it to, and that's not true. Now with technologies, the podcast hosts, as a podcast guest, writing blogs, writing books, whatever it is, what's ordinary is amazing to others. We're blessed to be a blessing. In your own way, I would encourage you to share what you have learned with other people, because it will help them and it will help remind you of what you've learned along the way.
