Shownotes

Great stories told here from a service professional who spends very little time at his business. This Japanese Repair Specialist operates in Clackamas, Oregon.

The Business
TJ Reilly has over 40 years of industry experience and 30 years as a shop owner. He started his business from scratch, and has the experience of being both a single store and multiple store operator. His team has been with him for decades, and his world-class AAA Approved Auto Repair Business has one of the industry’s highest customer retention rates.

Ten Hours Per Week
TJ has earned the coveted AAM accreditation from the Automotive Management Institute, and he is a past-president of the Automotive Service Association of Oregon. One of his greatest accomplishments is that he has been able to create a business that allows him to come and go as he pleases, and work less than 10 hours a week at his shop.

You’ve probably read his columnSame Day Auto Service 2
TJ is a featured columnist in the ASA monthly magazine, Autoinc, where his column, “What would you do?”, asks difficult ethical questions regarding customer service.

Telling Stories is the foundation of the podcast and TJ Reilly delivers it. So why listen?

  • TJ shares his tough journey transformation from working in his business to “on” it.
  • TJ gets a lot of gratification from his work as a business coach for Elite Worldwide.
  • Learn about TJ’s passion for customer retention and an important formula, you must know, in order to measure your market share.

For fun and philanthropy
TJ enjoys flying airplanes in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He is heavily involved in his community. He supports a number of charities, and in 2006 he ran for the Oregon State Senate.
