Hey there. Welcome to another episode of Get Seen with Leilani Wells diving right
Speaker:in. Excited to share about my thoughts on
Speaker:being seen and visibility what the root cause of that is of us not
Speaker:being seen at our maximum capacity of why it is
Speaker:when we are business owners and we're choosing a life where
Speaker:we are pouring into a passion, something that's near and dear to us,
Speaker:something that we know that people need to see why we're not sharing it and
Speaker:screaming off rooftop. Rooftops, right. Why we're not doing
Speaker:everything to be seen to market it, do all the things at all times. And
Speaker:I'm not speaking about the part that is actually exhausting, right?
Speaker:Like the part that we are tired, we are doing a lot of things
Speaker:and yet another post has to get up and it's time consuming. I'm speaking to
Speaker:when we do have the time and we do have the energy and we are
Speaker:excited about it. Those times when your finger is ready to press send on an
Speaker:important post and you're holding yourself back because there's stuff coming
Speaker:up inside. That's the part of it that I'm speaking to today. And so what
Speaker:I wanted to address is there's a lot of internal blocks that cause this and
Speaker:they're internal blocks that stem from typically our past,
Speaker:as with any internal blocks, right. Anything that comes up that
Speaker:we're hesitant and we don't know how to place it, we
Speaker:don't know what to put a name on, we don't know where to go. We
Speaker:don't know how to fix something that's coming up because we really don't
Speaker:know how to name it. Right? And it's because a lot of that stuff is
Speaker:subconscious from our past. And so I'm going to just kind of go
Speaker:through some random sayings so it kind of starts to connect. So
Speaker:don't toot your own horn, okay? That was a saying
Speaker:back in the day, don't toot your own horns horn. So it's telling
Speaker:you don't share your accomplishments. So we're
Speaker:literally being told not to share our accomplishments. And then as a
Speaker:business owner, now we have to do what? Turn around and share
Speaker:our accomplishments so people can see that we're confident in ourselves,
Speaker:we know what we're doing, and then they can in turn be
Speaker:impacted positively by our offerings. So
Speaker:we have to get past that block sometimes. And then there's another saying.
Speaker:Oh, no one knows it all. So that's implying your
Speaker:expertise is like arrogant or annoying or quit showing
Speaker:off. Right? That's another saying. Or who do you think you are?
Speaker:Or how about this one? Children should be seen and not
Speaker:heard. Children should be seen and not heard. It's so interesting
Speaker:about this. We're grown now, so what does that mean? We should be heard? Yes,
Speaker:but also, business is playful. You can
Speaker:be very childlike in business, right? You can really explore the dreams
Speaker:you had as a child. So there's kind of like that tug, push, pull
Speaker:there, right? And then if you don't have anything nice to
Speaker:say, don't say anything at all. So now you're like, I'm not being
Speaker:mean, but maybe I should not
Speaker:say this because it's going to rock the boat. Certain things
Speaker:like that don't get a big head. So there's so many things we're
Speaker:being told throughout the years telling us
Speaker:to zip it, to zip it. And I mean, I can go on
Speaker:and on, but I think we get the picture now.
Speaker:Okay, so what is going to cause
Speaker:what's going to be happening when this stuff comes
Speaker:up, literally? What should we be looking for?
Speaker:And when we're looking at ourselves, we're
Speaker:thinking maybe we're not good enough.
Speaker:We maybe don't have anything valuable to share.
Speaker:Who am I to teach others? Am I really an
Speaker:expert? Really? The biggest thing I see
Speaker:people grappling with is the showing off part,
Speaker:the bragging. They feel like when they share something, it
Speaker:is bragging. Okay? It is bragging
Speaker:and it is not bragging. So think about it this way. When you
Speaker:go and you decide on something you want to
Speaker:buy or someone you want to spend your hard earned money with, or some
Speaker:product you want to spend your hard earned money with, are you going to buy
Speaker:it from something or someone or some company that's not
Speaker:making noise. They're going to look like they're lacking in
Speaker:confidence, that they don't believe in themselves. They are not really waiving. It
Speaker:like, here, you need this. They're not being
Speaker:boastful. And then, so why would you buy it? Because
Speaker:are we going to ever believe someone that doesn't believe in themselves? Are we ever
Speaker:going to want a product that is not
Speaker:in our faces? No, we're not. We're not going to want that.
Speaker:Okay? So I want you guys to be left
Speaker:with another thought here. I have on some
Speaker:certain ways that if we're not out
Speaker:there, what does that mean? What are the ramifications
Speaker:of that? Like? What then in turn happens?
Speaker:And it's not something that is
Speaker:necessarily going to mean that you're going to go
Speaker:out of business. Okay? You're not going to go out of business from that.
Speaker:However, your business is going to thrive less than
Speaker:it would have. That is for certain. Because you're not going to have more
Speaker:touch points. You're going to have less relationships that you could have
Speaker:built along the way because people would have been attracted to
Speaker:you and what you had to offer and wanted to get to know you more
Speaker:and then more collaborative opportunities would have opened up. You're
Speaker:going to not be, and this is in my
Speaker:opinion, the most important aspect of all of it is
Speaker:you are not going to be in front of people that actually need you.
Speaker:Those people that needed you to show up and show
Speaker:out and tell them what you had and brag about it and make it
Speaker:known so that they can know for sure
Speaker:for certain in their bones that you can help them.
Speaker:They're going to not be helped with your
Speaker:exact solution that you had because you were holding back.
Speaker:So I encourage you to just obviously you want to
Speaker:follow my stuff and dive deep and go to the Holiday
Speaker:Entrepreneur Summit and do all the things so you can start
Speaker:working through anything that you start noticing happening. I'm going to be
Speaker:talking more about this at the Holiday Entrepreneur Summit. However,
Speaker:I would say for today, when you're listening to this,
Speaker:don't give yourself a hard time, but think of something that
Speaker:resonated for you here where you were like, maybe I
Speaker:am playing this recording that was that maybe
Speaker:I recognize that one sentence that she said. Or maybe it's something
Speaker:else, or maybe it's actually you
Speaker:were trying to and this is a little bit deep. This is a little bit
Speaker:different than what we've been talking about. But this is another thing that's an internal
Speaker:block for a lot of us. And it's important to talk about this
Speaker:right now before I end this podcast because I can't believe I
Speaker:almost missed this one. This is very big. This is a lot of us.
Speaker:We had something traumatic or something that
Speaker:was something that put you in survival mode at some point in
Speaker:your life and you realized, oh,
Speaker:it's better to not be seen because it's safer. And
Speaker:if that is you listening to this, I definitely
Speaker:want you to understand that that is something that's not happening
Speaker:anymore. No one can get to you as far as, like
Speaker:in a common thread anywhere. Get out there, be
Speaker:seen. Start taking note when you know what
Speaker:things are and you recognize them now. And if you have something
Speaker:really important and special to offer, let people see it. Let's get out there
Speaker:and let's get seen, guys.
