Shownotes

At the age of four, David Tuber knew he wanted to pursue a life in animation. "I've always found great satisfaction in writing for television and film. My strengths lean towards comedy writing, sketch comedy, punch-up, etc. However, I also have a knack for finding the heart of a story, character, scene, and presenting it in a natural, unforced way. The stories I enjoy most as an audience and writer are, if I may be so cliche, the ones that make you laugh and make you cry," noted David.

Obsessed with cartoons he drew constantly with the hopes to participate in the industry he adored. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago in 2005, he arrived in Los Angeles and began working at Shadowmachine Films. While there he worked on stop-motion animated for Robot Chicken.

Soon thereafter, David befriended his comedy-writer idol, Dino Stamatopoulos and he began working on Dino’s show, Moral Orel.  In 2009, David became a director on Dino's next stop-motion animated show, Mary Shelley’s Frankehole

Following that, David made his debut into film - storyboarding on The LEGO Movie under the guidance of his longtime friend and director, Chris McKay. David worked on the next three more Lego films .

He also began sharpening his writing skills by writing for the LA-based sketch comedy troupes such as SecondHand Smog and Steed, while continuing his work in television animation.

David and his wife Abigail reside in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
