Episode 46- Checkin’ Body, Mind & Breath – Guest Eddie Ulm BSc CMT SEP
The body and mind connection is undeniable, it exists in one place. When it comes to treatment of our body and our mind, we tend to create a disconnect. Even when we speak about it, we will say our “Mental Health” or our “Physical Health”. Perhaps for some it makes sense to distance the two, but does it actually make sense? Should we be furthering that disconnect? Should we be looking more closely, as a society, at the connections? How they influence each other and how they interact.
Something Manual Therapist Eddie Ulm is very familiar with. His lived experiences led him to those questions, and his studies and his profession have led him to his current place of knowledge. They also led to this incredible discussion. For more incredible information and content, check out Eddie on Instagram by CLICKING HERE
“We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body. This imprint has ongoing consequences for how the human organism manages to survive in the present. Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.” – Bessel Van Der Kolk M.D.
