Today in Health it, the story is Boost Mobile in telehealth. I guess that sentence should end in a question mark. My name is Bill Russell. I'm a former CIO for a 16 hospital system and creator of this week in Health IT a channel dedicated to keeping Health IT staff current and engaged. There are five companies that stepped up to help fund the development of this content and I want to thank them and actually I thank them at the end of every show, but just in case I.

You don't listen all the way to the end. I wanna thank them at the beginning. VMware Hillrom, Starbridge Advisors, McAfee and Aruba Networks. I wanna thank them for supporting our mission of developing the next generation of health leaders. Alright, here's today's story, and this is interesting to me. I, I had never thought I would see this, and this comes from mobile health news.

Boost Mobile's Unlimited Plus Plan now offers telemedicine. That's right. Boost Mobile has added a new sign-on Perk for subscribers of its Unlimited Plus plan free virtual healthcare services through K Health. The partnership between Boost Mobile and K Health gives the wireless providers, customers, and immediate families access to a range of telehealth care.

K Health's platform offers a text-based. Artificial intelligence enabled symptom checker, virtual primary care, prescription refills, and mental health support. Boost Mobile will launch its telemedicine service this summer. They will be free for new Unlimited plus subscribers and roughly $8 per month for other Boost Mobile service plans.

Why does this matter? A significant portion of Boost Mobile's Customers are low income and may struggle to get access to affordable healthcare. The company's CEO sees this partnership as a way to provide healthcare to people who need it the most. Boost Mobile is bridging the gap by providing affordable wireless access.

And now we want to expand those efforts to address the healthcare divide. Steven Stokes, CEO of Boost Mobile said in a statement, Kay Health is the perfect partner to create a pathway to better health for individuals and families who do not have affordable access to medical services. Which we estimate is up to half of our user base.

Larger trend. According to the article earlier this year, K Health completed a 132 million series E funding round. It said it would use the money to build out its new K for parents offering at conditions to its treatment profile and grow its user base. The digital health startup also recently furthered its commitment to accessibility.

Through its collaboration with Blackstone Growth and Anthem, the three companies are coming together to launch Hydrogen Health to deliver a suite of digital, virtual, and in-person care options, targeting the direct to consumer, direct to employer, and direct to insurer markets, although it's not offered as a sign-on Perk.

Verizon recently launched a telemedicine venture of its own called BlueJeans Telehealth. The platform can be deployed on any connected device or through the accompanying app. It runs with Dolby Voice Audio to ensure an uninterrupted visit and will be available in more than 200 languages, including sign language, in addition to transcription and closed captioning services on the record, boost Mobile truly prioritizes its customers.

And is creating solutions to meet their needs. Said Ron Shawl, the Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of Kay Health. Our partnership brings together Boost Mobile's innovation with Kay's unique combination of shared knowledge made possible by AI and our fleet of world-class clinicians to offer 24 by seven access.

To the best high quality medicine, all from a smartphone. Wow. I can honestly say I didn't see this one coming. I, I, I just thought you should know that this is out there. Boost Mobile and Verizon are offering telemedicine. They wanna serve their customers well by offering these services. It's, it is really amazing and, and I really can honestly say I didn't see this one coming.

But now that I see it, I really can't unsee it. Boost Mobile is actually playing a powerful card here. We know where you struggle and we have a solution. If you're wondering where a customer-centric culture starts, it starts right there. Ask yourself, what are the five to 10 things that your customers hate about your service?

And fix that. Ask, what is the greatest challenge your customer or patient is struggling with and offer that. These lists become powerful. Validate the list, then solve one of them. It's culture changing. Really listen to the customers collaborate on solutions, fund it, resource it, deliver and measure. And then you know what you do, you just repeat it.

Do this a few times and you'll be so far ahead of the other healthcare providers in your community. That it won't even be funny. You will start to develop a moat around your business model, and it is the strongest kind of moat out there. It is a relationship based on respect, trust, and service. And you know what?

I'm not sure I could say it any better than what it was said in this article. Boost Mobile truly prioritizes its customers and is creating solutions to meet their needs. I'd love to hear the stories from you. Send me a note at Bill at this weekend, health it.com. Anytime you hear of a health system doing this type of work that truly prioritizes its customers and creates solutions to meet their needs, send it along to me.

I wanna highlight it. I wanna shout it from the rooftop so everyone can see it. And begin to replicate it. That is how we change healthcare. All right, that's all for today. If you know of someone that might benefit from our channel, please forward them a note. They can subscribe on our website this week, health.com, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Apple, Google Overcast, Spotify, Stitcher. I. You get the picture. We are everywhere. We wanna thank our channel sponsors once again, who are investing in our mission to develop the next generation of health leaders. VMware Hillrom, Starbridge Advisors, McAfee and Aruba Networks. Thanks for listening. That's all for now.
