Shownotes

Letters to Dance gave me a new perspective of looking at dance as a person. A person that has given me a new life and added value in many areas. This workshop by renowned German choreographers Deufert and Plischke at The Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles was a fantastic experience. I learned new approaches to movement that I know I can use in dance, life and business.

Session Summary:

  • Step to Success: A step to your success is anything that moves your life and your business forward. Whether it’s an app, a book or an idea, you can apply something today that can help you succeed. Today’s step to success is showing up without throwing up. Meaning add value to potential business clients and don't throw up on them with all the details on your business if it doesn't serve their needs.
  • Dancer’s Dialect: The Dancer’s Dialect is the dancer’s language. I share dance terminology and concepts across different genres so you can see the correlations in your life and in your business. Today’s concept is a game called "Brown Girl in The Ring."
  • Freestyle Flow: Think twice if you're going to interrupt someone when they have their headphones on. Unless you're going to give them something they like LOL
  • Feature Presentation: Letters to Dance gave me a new perspective of looking at dance as a person. A person that has given me a new life and added value in many areas. This workshop by renowned German choreographers Deufert and Plischke at The Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles was a fantastic experience. I learned new approaches to movement that I know I can use in dance, life and business. Here are 5 additional things I was reminded of as follows:

1. Memorialize. Keep a journal to preserve memories and be in constant gratitude.

2. Don't be afraid to make movement a game.

3. Learn the subtle art of mirroring.

4. Be open to other approaches.

5. Write a letter to dance as a person and share it with me if you're so inclined. : )
