What are the biggest differences selling residential vs. commercial?

It all starts with the sales cycle. The sales cycle for residential vs. commercial is totally different with each one. Residential is fast. You scratch their itch and it’s done.

With commercial, you can get discouraged way too fast. It takes a while and that’s normal. Have a strategy, think long term and focus on the relationships with the gatekeepers and decision makers!

The gatekeepers block you from getting to the decision makers.
Follow up and be consistent. Build the relationships up.

There are questions about interviewing, the how too and the questions that you should ask. We talk about the process I used and the interview worksheet that I had from my old company, Birds Beware.

Interviews are like a first date. It’s all crap. 

You are trying to feel the person out, see if they can think on their feet, and can hold a conversation.

Be honest, tell them if you’re a small company and tell them about what’s different and why they’d want to work there.

The phone is a mega, powerful weapon. USE IT! Do enough of this to get comfortable and create a campaign. Don’t stop, make yourself do it. Fake it til you make it.
