Shownotes

Culture is one of the most important factors contributing to the success of your organization. There are some people who will argue this point, who don’t see any connection between culture and productivity, execution, or profits. There are also people who think if they put a foosball table in the break room and let their employees wear jeans, they’ll create a kick-ass culture – and all of those people are wrong.

Culture will determine how engaged your employees are, and judging by recent research, they’re probably not very engaged at all. The folks at Gallup regularly find that as many as 70 percent of American employees are not engaged in their work. Gallup also found that companies with highly engaged workforces outperform their peers by 147 percent in earnings per share. That’s a pretty significant incentive to figure this employee engagement stuff out, isn’t it?

So where do we start?

That’s where our guest this week comes in. Jamie Notter is a consultant who helps leaders drive growth and engagement by activating and aligning workplace culture and the co-author of The Non-Obvious Guide To Employee Engagement (For Millennials, Boomers And Everyone Else).
