Maria’s journey started from health care to he business side of healthcare. She knew that her path to financial freedom was to become an entrepreneur. She grew and sold her business in 2 years. Most women entrepreneurs are scared to talk about money. As a women entrepreneur we sometimes think that we dot deserve it. We are great starter-uppers, we can conserve but as we get into the business, we should be ok to raise money.
What are the top 2 challenges that women face?
1. Women are their own worst enemies. We are magnificent and good enough. Serving other people is a gift and once you step into it, you will be surrounded by everything you need.
2. Women tend to judge themselves and not ask for support. Ask and be open to receiving.
When should an entrepreneur reach our for funding? And how do they find the right kind of funding?
The funding plan should be there right from the beginning even when you don’t need the money. Create a funding plan when you dont need it. Start the process when you dont need it. It is good to know that you are moving in the right direction. It is important to validate your concept, refine it and once you are comfortable with your idea, ramp it up.
Set the intention and the resources will start showing up – Law of Attraction.
Business credit- plant the seeds early on so that it’s there when you need it.
Strategies for funding
Self funding is starting the business with the resources that you have- You don’t have to be a martyr fr your business. You don’t have to sacrifice everything for our business.
Bootstrapping- putting back the money into the business. Establish your revenue milestones.
Protect your personal credit. You can always create more money if you protect your personal resources.
Business Credit- As a business yo build a Paydex Score. Do not co mingle so that you can leverage it. Build your business credit.
Have a goal or exit strategy for our business.
Work with private investors. These are not venture capitalists or angel investors. Circulate your money. Look for people around you where you can create a new economy for the people around you.
Give them a good ROI and give them a good deal. Get over the limiting beliefs and don’t talk yourself out of the opportunity.
Establish what you want to do with the money/milestone. And what resources are necessary to get that.
