Scott Norman is an Associate Professor of Automotive Technology at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS and President of the National Association of Automotive Universities.

He started his career as an automotive technician, like so many others, with an automotive technology associates degree, but his automotive career took a huge turn into the automotive corporate world. When the downturn happened he decided to complete his bachelor’s degree in automotive technology.  Now he is helping automotive students fulfill their dreams to become the next generation of leaders in the automotive industry at his alma mater.

In his spare time.
Scott is the program coordinator for the four yearscott-norman-and-students-001 bachelors program in Automotive Technology. He is also Chairman of the National Automotive Service Technology committee for Skills USA and the president of the National Association of Automotive Universities (NAAU).

He’s worked for many years with Chrysler before joining his alma mater as an associate professor.

Listen to Scott speak to:

-Value of a four-year degree.
-Why parents like the four year over the two-year program.
-How the independent service professional can get involved in recruitment for graduates.
-His favorite class to teach.
-How he and his fellow instructors improve their learning curve to keep pace with the changing technology.
