Shownotes

Almost every Salon Owner starts off as a hairdresser or therapist.

What does this mean, you ask? Well, usually it means that we go into owning a business blind, with no idea how challenging it’ll be, and making a lot of mistakes as we go.

But, you know what? That’s ok!

In this Episode of the Podcast, I’m chatting with Steve Corthine, or as most people know him: Stevie English. Steve is a Salon Owner who, like so many of us, admits to having made every mistake possible. Stevie’s Salon, Stevie English Hair, has an unmissable personality that has so clearly come from his own uniqueness and identity.

Steve believes that this brand culture and identity has been the key to his success, and says that the brand is what people buy in to. We chat about how to stay consistent in your branding, and how clarity is vital in order to do this.

Steve shares his tips on how he manages his team of 18, which includes strong values around education, goal setting, rules & regulations, and knowing the numbers.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • It’s ok to make mistakes
  • Staying true to yourself and your beliefs
  • How to have a clear cultural standpoint and definitive brand
  • All about the importance of core brand values
  • Being consistent
  • Having clarity around your brand
  • Managing a team
