Shownotes

In this episode, I share with you the effect it had on me to declutter 30 years of accumulated stuff, mainly books, my educational background, and old bills.

At first, as I saw 30 years of my life passing by in one afternoon, I felt guilty to see all the spending. However, I took the time to reason it out, and in doing so, I learned the power behind decluttering.

First, it allowed me to witness how much I have accomplished in 30 years. I also noticed that the books I’ve purchased while going to school were never used afterward. However, I still refer to many business books I’ve purchased later on in life. I think the difference is the fact that I chose to buy the books.

All that said, there are many reasons why there’s a lot of power behind decluttering. No two things can occupy the same place at the same time, which means if my closet is full of old, unsupportive stuff, there’s no room for newness.

Regardless of the energy required to go through the motion, decluttering has a purging effect. It liberates the flow and creates serendipity.

If you feel you are not heading anywhere in your life, I invite you to listen in and to experience the power of decluttering.
