Cowabunga, dudes! If you grew up in the '80s and '90s, there was simply no escaping the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And why would you want to? These mutated, pizza-eating turtles kick butt, and their first live-action movie was the perfect hybrid of the cartoon show out at the time and the far more serious comic book series that kicked off this ubiquitous brand. This movie has a little something for everyone too - which helped make it the highest-grossing independent film of all time - and the turtles' costumes, made by the Jim Henson Company, remain some of the most impressive visual effects work ever done.
