Shownotes

Today I’m delighted to share this powerful conversation with Christiane Pelmas. I see Christiane as a wise woman and elder and she works as a mentor and guide with women and women’s communities.  I deeply value Christiane’s grounded wisdom and the medicine she brings. We covered so much rich territory and I could have gone on for hours!  Christiane shares her story of ‘eldering’ and how life in her 50s keeps getting better, reframing orgasm as a ‘threshold’ rather than a full stop, self pleasure as a place to alchemise feelings and emotions, the difference between ‘sexual’ and ‘erotic’, the story of Eros, what women’s community needs to thrive (this one surprised me!), what ‘feminine leadership’ is, how to thrive in the ‘tension’ of current times, listening to how you can meaningfully participate in life at this time and the complexity of the nervous system in consent and why statements like "even a 'maybe' is a 'no'!" don't work. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Christiane shares:

  • Her story of ‘eldering’ and how her life is changing in her 50s
  • Reframing orgasm as a ‘threshold’ rather than a full stop
  • A glimpse of the space beyond the ‘threshold’ and ways to explore this space
  • Decolonising orgasm - reclaiming your pleasure
  • Self pleasure as a place to alchemise feelings and emotions and experience wellness
  • The difference between ‘sexual’ and ‘erotic’ and why its important not to conflate them

Christiane is a former therapist now a mentor/guide/supervisor and ancestral healing practitioner, specifically working with women, tending to women's community, working at the intersection of erotic intelligence, female embodiment, trauma, and leadership in a time of ecological and societal collapse. She is mother to two wonderful young men, a partner, an avid gardener, and writer.
