Allyson Zahm of the New Mexico BioPark Society had a story to tell. Her story is about penguins.
Equally important to her story is to understand climate change and how options in New Mexico are impacting climate. Not only does Allyson want to make the world better for penguins but other ecosystems and animals too. However, she wanted technology to tell that story because technology provides many more tools than signage alone. But also people can learn multiple things in multiple ways and it's exciting every time. Unquestionably interactive displays promise discovery. So it peaks curiosity in a way that a sign doesn’t.
Ideum was that innovative technology answer. They are a New Mexico based creative company focused on using emerging technologies to design public installations and products that lead to meaningful visitor experiences.
Ideum's creative designer, Becky Hansis-O'Neill, also a biologist, was tasked with the job of penguin chill storyteller.
Through innovation and collaboration the two entities brought interactive conservation messaging to the public. In addition, the visitor’s not only learn about penguins but how to conserve for a global impact.
Allyson and Becky share the behind the scenes of how the now, world famous Penguin Chill in Albuquerque New Mexico came to be.
