This week it's all about opportunities with eight gaelic clubs looking to secure the opportunity to play in either the senior or intermediate football county final this year. Opportunity also for Manor Rangers to improve on their second place finish in the Sligo Leitrim Superleague last season while Dromahair FC will be just happy to have the opportunity to play as the league's new boys bring soccer to the town.
We run through the fixtures of the weekend including the Leitrim GAA Championship Semi Finals at Senior (1:13) and Intermediate (2:46) level as well as county finals at Minor level (3:02).
Our ladies football (3:33) finals will be complete after the rescheduled games affected by covid regulations last weekend are played on Sunday while we'll also be previewing the opening weekend's fixtures for Leitrim clubs in the Sligo / Leitrim League (4:10) on Sunday. Starting with the Connacht Gold Senior Football Championship we see the clash of Mohill and Fenagh who lock horns in a local derby on Saturday evening. We chat to Fenagh's Mark Keegan (9:12) and Mohill's Alan Armstrong (17:44) ahead of the fixture.
The second semi final sees St. Mary's challenge the reigning holders Glencar / Manorhamilton who have shown the experience and guile necessary to unlock games when it matters at the business end of the season. We speak to Manor selector Kenneth McMorrow (27:26) and St. Mary's Chairman Thomas Crowe (32:53) before the big game.
Thomas also discusses his role as the club's minor team manager ahead of their final on Saturday afternoon.
