  • Void is referring to empty space
  • Space and Air are the two main elements of the Vata Dosha and that is what can eventually create the void
  • Irregular movement is not good for Vata
  • We all have something that we do on a regular basis that fills our void, that fulfills us
  • Whether one believes that there is a global issue right now or not, they are still affected by the circumstances
  • A book picture symptom of the void is post partum depression
  • Another such symptom is post traumatic stress disorder
  • Retirement is also an example of what creates empty space (void) in someone's life
  • Comfort food can be delicious and still be highly nutritious
  • Examples of comfort food are anything made using full fat and as few processed sweeteners as possible
  • Think old fashioned rice pudding and blueberry pie made with lots of lard :-)
  • Ingredients for Tim's SOS recipe: 1/2 lb of ground pork sausage and 1/2 lb of 55 / 45 ground beef from our friends over at USWellness Meats; A can of southern style beans from Bush Beans⁣; 2 large spoonfuls of Galbanni Ricotta whole milk cheese⁣; 1/4 cup Organic Valley heavy whipping cream; Himalayan salt and freshly ground black pepper added to taste; The shingle is fresh baked sourdough from a local bakery; ⁣Topped with local raised eggs cooked in home rendered lard. ⁣
  • Good comfort food is something we need and we should include in our life.
  • Raw food, bad!
  • Greek salad, good!
  • Horta good too! Horta is cooked greens that are swimming in olive oil and lemon with salt and pepper added to taste
  • Proper breath-work helps fill your void (lower lobes of the lungs)
  • The lower lobes of the lungs are highly critical to our parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation response)
  • Think Belly Breathing, Alternate Nostril Breathing and Kapalabhati Breathing (breath of power)
  • Stay away from bhastrika (breath of fire) and most kundalini breath-work unless you think you are enlightened and of course you know more than we do
  • Very often yoga teachers are teaching improper breath-work to their students (such as bhastrika) in order to disempower them.
  • Nose breathing is highly important to your every day health.
  • Start from perfecting Belly Breathing.
  • Belly Breathing and Alternate Nostril Breathing are great in the evening.
  • Kapalabhati is great after intense physical activity as long as it is followed by Alternate Nostril Breathing.
  • Standing Heating Breath is perfect early in the day or before any intense physical activity.
