Marianne has always enjoyed the art of transforming spaces to provide
Speaker:a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Speaker:She combines her psychology and counseling background for extra impact.
Speaker:It enables her to fully understand the challenges and limitations of
Speaker:a busy entrepreneur in analyzing this space.
Speaker:Marianne helps clients remove and unlock roadblocks to their success.
Speaker:What that really means is she sets them up with their
Speaker:unique power office.
Speaker:Marianne is currently working with Marie diamond from the book,
Speaker:the secret that we all know and love,
Speaker:and she is completing her diamond funkshway certification.
Speaker:She will then be licensed internationally under Marie diamond.
Speaker:And Oh my gosh,
Speaker:that sounds like a big deal.
Speaker:Welcome to the show Maryanne.
Speaker:Well, hi,
Speaker:thank you so much for having me on the show.
Speaker:This is my first podcast,
Speaker:and I'm really excited about it as we go.
Speaker:I've noticed just in the two years that I've been doing
Speaker:the show more and more people are understanding what it's about
Speaker:and we're not having to explain anymore.
Speaker:Right? You can add yourself to the group who knows all
Speaker:about podcasts now,
Speaker:and exactly.
Speaker:It's wonderful.
Speaker:So the way I like to start everything out is an,
Speaker:a little bit of a different way.
Speaker:And that is by having you share a little bit about
Speaker:yourself through a motivational candle.
Speaker:So if you were create a candle that spoke total Maryanne,
Speaker:what color would it be?
Speaker:And what would be the quote that would be on your
Speaker:candle? I really thought about this because the defense way we
Speaker:use all the colors of the rainbow,
Speaker:but the one that stands out the most for me,
Speaker:that would probably the pick me would be a gold one.
Speaker:And what I would say is go for the gold.
Speaker:Your potential is unlimited.
Speaker:There you go reach for the top,
Speaker:right? Yep.
Speaker:And that's what I try to do for people in their
Speaker:offices and their homes to improve their environment so they can
Speaker:reach their potential and have unlimited success and happiness.
Speaker:There you go.
Speaker:Well, I am really interested in this because honestly,
Speaker:I've heard about funkshway forever.
Speaker:I really don't know much about it at all.
Speaker:Any of you get biz listeners.
Speaker:If you're in the same boat as I am,
Speaker:we're going to take it from the top,
Speaker:start from the beginning and understand everything about funkshway by the
Speaker:time we're done with the podcast.
Speaker:So what is it Maryanne?
Speaker:What is funkshway and what's its purpose,
Speaker:et cetera.
Speaker:Okay. It's,
Speaker:what's a 5,000
Speaker:year old technique that is it's returned from China.
Speaker:And it's all about how you feel in the space.
Speaker:And what makes you feel a certain way is the energy
Speaker:that's in that space.
Speaker:I could equate myself to like an acupuncturist.
Speaker:You go to see an acupuncturist when you've got some pain
Speaker:discomfort and with the set of needles,
Speaker:they put them in directly in a certain position and unblock
Speaker:the energy flow and wow,
Speaker:all of a sudden you're feeling great.
Speaker:That's what I do.
Speaker:When I come into a space,
Speaker:whether it be at home or an office,
Speaker:I find out what's blocking the flow of energy.
Speaker:And people usually tell me what their challenges are,
Speaker:what they want to work on and where in that space,
Speaker:the blockages are.
Speaker:It's what they're experiencing in their business and their personal life
Speaker:and their health.
Speaker:It's amazing.
Speaker:So by identifying,
Speaker:removing that,
Speaker:enhancing the spaces for success,
Speaker:that's what venture is all about.
Speaker:I'm sure you've gone into a space.
Speaker:Someone's home,
Speaker:someone's office,
Speaker:a restaurant where you feel like,
Speaker:wow, this is wonderful.
Speaker:I could just be here all day.
Speaker:I feel just great.
Speaker:That is the space that has great venture way.
Speaker:Everything is balanced because we're always looking for balance.
Speaker:You go into another place and you're,
Speaker:there may be five minutes.
Speaker:It could be even your own office.
Speaker:And you're like,
Speaker:I can't stand this.
Speaker:I can't be here.
Speaker:I have to leave.
Speaker:I feel terrible.
Speaker:I don't feel supported.
Speaker:That's an office or a space that does not have good
Speaker:bench way.
Speaker:So we have been practicing French twice since we were infants.
Speaker:You as an infant,
Speaker:decided what position?
Speaker:Where in your crib,
Speaker:you wanted to sleep.
Speaker:According to how it felt you played in certain areas in
Speaker:your family room,
Speaker:you sat a certain part of the table,
Speaker:or you're attracted to sit a certain part of a table
Speaker:in a room.
Speaker:So you've been practicing this your whole life.
Speaker:You've just,
Speaker:didn't put a label on it.
Speaker:That's all about how you feel in the space.
Speaker:You always want your space to be supporting you,
Speaker:not depleting.
Speaker:So it is a space different for different people.
Speaker:Like would my comfort level in my space be different than
Speaker:for example,
Speaker:if you walked into my space,
Speaker:No. When I talk about the space and talk about comfort
Speaker:level, I'm talking about the space.
Speaker:You might get used to some things,
Speaker:but yeah.
Speaker:Okay. You may be totally comfortable,
Speaker:but if you call me in to check out your office
Speaker:or your home,
Speaker:most likely you want something to improve.
Speaker:And so what I go in and I check out what
Speaker:is happening,
Speaker:what is not happening in that space.
Speaker:And people get just themselves to working really hard to really
Speaker:pushing themselves.
Speaker:Even though there seem to be roadblocks things,
Speaker:constant coming to the forefront that they're trying to circumvent.
Speaker:And a lot of it has to do with what is
Speaker:in that space.
Speaker:So there's some basic general things that when I do an
Speaker:energy map,
Speaker:I look for and the energies change every year,
Speaker:also in a bench way That gets confusing.
Speaker:So the energies change when I think of funkshway,
Speaker:I think of like furniture placement or that's really what comes
Speaker:to my mind.
Speaker:I don't know if that's right or not.
Speaker:That's fine Part of it if that's not at all involved,
Speaker:but it's part of it is how things are arranged in
Speaker:the space.
Speaker:Furniture is important.
Speaker:Okay. So when you walk into a space,
Speaker:whether it's me,
Speaker:whether it's you,
Speaker:whether it's a friend of mine or someone else,
Speaker:when people walk in,
Speaker:do they automatically get the feel because of the way the
Speaker:spaces or would one person feel comfortable in the space where
Speaker:another person might not feel comfortable or is it really just
Speaker:have to do with the space?
Speaker:So it doesn't have to do with the person coming in.
Speaker:It has to do with the space and how it's set
Speaker:up. Yeah,
Speaker:it has to do with the space and how it's set
Speaker:up. It depends how long the people are in this space.
Speaker:And a lot of people don't realize that they want to
Speaker:leave or they're that really uncomfortable.
Speaker:Some of them just don't want to hang out,
Speaker:don't want to leave.
Speaker:And they may not even equate that to being uncomfortable,
Speaker:but it's the space and the energy in that space.
Speaker:All right,
Speaker:now we have a little bit of a grounding in terms
Speaker:of what this is all about.
Speaker:How did you get into this?
Speaker:Oh gosh.
Speaker:Well, my background originally is a science.
Speaker:I'm a science person.
Speaker:I was a pre-med major F a master's in counseling psych,
Speaker:but I've always my right and left brain are always working.
Speaker:And I've always been interested in alternative medicines and alternative energies
Speaker:probably since I was really young.
Speaker:And about 15,
Speaker:18 years ago,
Speaker:everywhere I would travel bookstore gift shops.
Speaker:These fungi books would just literally pop off the shelf.
Speaker:And I had two stacks of French way books.
Speaker:And every day I'd be reading them.
Speaker:And I just thought,
Speaker:this is fabulous.
Speaker:Fascinating. And then I said,
Speaker:I have to decide what to do with this.
Speaker:So I got my first certification in Chicago.
Speaker:It was a good foundation,
Speaker:but I wanted so much more.
Speaker:So I have gotten out to other certifications in classical French
Speaker:way, which uses the compass method.
Speaker:And now I'm working Marie diamond.
Speaker:So when I go into a space anyone's space,
Speaker:whether it be their home,
Speaker:if I'm working on their bedroom or office,
Speaker:when different changes are made and things are personalized for them
Speaker:and they experienced them and you get the phone call saying,
Speaker:Oh my God,
Speaker:I just got this job.
Speaker:Or, Oh my God,
Speaker:my kids are playing together in this area.
Speaker:They wouldn't go into before.
Speaker:There's great harmony in our home.
Speaker:It's amazing.
Speaker:So you see the changes,
Speaker:you see the differences and basically improving the quality of everybody.
Speaker:Yeah. That's very cool.
Speaker:So you're seeing,
Speaker:and you're hearing from your customers right after you go in
Speaker:and you affect their environment,
Speaker:that things are happening for the positive.
Speaker:So when someone calls you up to come into their location,
Speaker:let's call it an office.
Speaker:Since we're mostly dealing with business people here,
Speaker:are they coming in?
Speaker:Because they're saying I need more sales and maybe my shop
Speaker:isn't set up properly.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:do they already have an end game in mind or do
Speaker:they come in open to what you think about their environment?
Speaker:Walk us through a little bit of how you interact with
Speaker:somebody. Okay.
Speaker:I have,
Speaker:I have people on both sides of the spectrum,
Speaker:but most of the time when I present or I talk
Speaker:or I go to a networking meeting and I just give
Speaker:a little snippet of what I do,
Speaker:the phone call,
Speaker:get us,
Speaker:Oh gosh,
Speaker:I really need you to come in and look at my
Speaker:space. And it's usually a number of things.
Speaker:They want to track more business.
Speaker:They want to get paid by clients.
Speaker:They have find that clients aren't paying them.
Speaker:They're having a hard time financially.
Speaker:I also have a business where the employees aren't getting along.
Speaker:And so how do you facilitate that?
Speaker:How do you make the change in that environment?
Speaker:So most of the time it's to improve either the work
Speaker:relationships and to increase more of their success,
Speaker:increase more of their bottom line,
Speaker:attract more customers attract more prosperity.
Speaker:So they'll ask me to say,
Speaker:okay, things just aren't going right.
Speaker:Five years ago,
Speaker:it was great.
Speaker:I moved into this new facility what's happening here.
Speaker:And that's why I see a lot is that when people
Speaker:do move,
Speaker:they may have been,
Speaker:even in families,
Speaker:totally happy,
Speaker:comfortable in that one home.
Speaker:And they move and nothing is right.
Speaker:Everything seems to be going wrong.
Speaker:That's interesting.
Speaker:Cause the only thing there that's different is the space.
Speaker:Exactly. So that's what I go in.
Speaker:I go in and I go with a fresh slate.
Speaker:I've met set of eyes that I look at things I
Speaker:will always ask them when I'm starting a consult,
Speaker:what are the three challenges you're facing?
Speaker:Or what are the top three things you want to improve
Speaker:in your business?
Speaker:If we're talking about the business.
Speaker:And so I focused on the top three.
Speaker:That's what I look at.
Speaker:I do an energy map.
Speaker:I take a lot of personal information and then I go
Speaker:home and I do my homework and I come back with
Speaker:the presentation and I'll tell them what they need to do.
Speaker:One of the biggest blockages is a letter in an office.
Speaker:And it depends where it is.
Speaker:If it's an area that is in your career sector,
Speaker:it's going to be slowing down your career and slow down
Speaker:clients. That's going to slow down opportunities coming to you.
Speaker:So it's really important analyze what is going on,
Speaker:answering, move that and then to enhance the awesome things so
Speaker:that you can start attracting the clients you want,
Speaker:the business you want.
Speaker:Okay. So this makes sense to me in terms of the
Speaker:clutter example,
Speaker:because if your place is cluttered,
Speaker:your productivity is going to be slower,
Speaker:right? Because you can't find what you need,
Speaker:which then directly equates to sales.
Speaker:That all makes sense to me and clutter.
Speaker:I think also I know when my place is all messy,
Speaker:even though I know where everything is,
Speaker:of course,
Speaker:but my place is all messy.
Speaker:It feels like a weight on me.
Speaker:And then if I take a little bit of time,
Speaker:straighten everything up,
Speaker:I just feel lighter and better and ready to roll because
Speaker:that's very tangible paper and all of that.
Speaker:How does energy work?
Speaker:Okay. So energy comes into your office,
Speaker:your home,
Speaker:what we call it through the front door.
Speaker:So wherever your door is into your office,
Speaker:arrange your house.
Speaker:That is how energy is coming in from the outside.
Speaker:That energy needs to circulate needs to support you as what
Speaker:we call she in the French way world.
Speaker:And if that energy can't float to you,
Speaker:if things are blocking it,
Speaker:you're not going to be getting the best use of that
Speaker:energy. One of the things,
Speaker:and I'll talk about this later is just where you're sitting
Speaker:in your office.
Speaker:You should never sit with your back to the door is
Speaker:what you're doing.
Speaker:Is the energies coming in.
Speaker:It's hitting your back.
Speaker:It's not coming to you so you're not receiving it.
Speaker:And you can't see the energy,
Speaker:but it is flowing all around you.
Speaker:And you always want to make sure that you have good
Speaker:energy flow.
Speaker:That energy is coming in all the time.
Speaker:Most people in homes don't even use their front door and
Speaker:the front door is so key to bringing in that good
Speaker:energy because in most people I'm working with have their offices
Speaker:in their homes.
Speaker:So one of the things I tell them is make sure
Speaker:you open that door at least once a day to get
Speaker:that energy flowing in,
Speaker:because that is how energy enters your home.
Speaker:You always want to keep it fresh and new surrounding you.
Speaker:You don't want it to become stagnant and dull.
Speaker:And what clutter does is it just locks.
Speaker:It, it stops the flow of it and where the flow
Speaker:is stopped is what you're going to be.
Speaker:The, it will be the symptoms in your business,
Speaker:in your health and your relationships.
Speaker:That's so interesting.
Speaker:I want to get into this now because I think we're
Speaker:already here.
Speaker:So let's just stay here.
Speaker:Give biz listeners.
Speaker:One of the things that I asked Maryanne,
Speaker:as we were talking about how we would share the information
Speaker:with you.
Speaker:One of the things I said is let's have some tangible
Speaker:things that our listeners can take back and kind of do
Speaker:a checklist of their space.
Speaker:What does it have?
Speaker:What does it not have?
Speaker:And I think we've already started getting into that,
Speaker:right? Is this one of the ones that are on the
Speaker:checklist? So let's go through that.
Speaker:Like what are some steps that people could look at with
Speaker:their own spaces,
Speaker:whether they're in a house or they're offsite in an office
Speaker:somewhere or even shops,
Speaker:what are some of the types of things like the front
Speaker:door example that we should be looking at?
Speaker:Okay, I'll give you like three,
Speaker:five of them.
Speaker:I go for five,
Speaker:let's do five.
Speaker:Okay. If your office is in your home or you're in
Speaker:a building and sometimes you can control the entrance.
Speaker:Sometimes you can not depending where your building is and if
Speaker:you're leasing it,
Speaker:but let's take an example is in a home,
Speaker:you want the energy to becoming,
Speaker:and you want to invite the energy in.
Speaker:So you have to have things totally open and cleared around
Speaker:your front door.
Speaker:The front door is huge for letting the energy in which
Speaker:means you don't want a tree right in front.
Speaker:You don't want your plants from the summer to be dead
Speaker:and just all dying in front of your door.
Speaker:You want your door to be inviting.
Speaker:You want to say,
Speaker:Hey, I'm ready to have this awesome energy coming in.
Speaker:They want to invite it in.
Speaker:Once it gets in and it's going to be traveling.
Speaker:And one inch in your office,
Speaker:the key in your office is you're the King or the
Speaker:queen of your kingdom.
Speaker:And you want that office to represent that you're in charge.
Speaker:So the first thing I tell people is you need to
Speaker:rearrange the office to have your desk so that you can
Speaker:be sitting facing the door,
Speaker:coming into your office.
Speaker:You never want to have your back to the door.
Speaker:Sometimes it's unavoidable,
Speaker:but there's things we can do to alleviate that.
Speaker:The always want to see what who's coming in.
Speaker:You want to see that energy because as that energy comes
Speaker:in, that energy is bringing opportunities to you.
Speaker:It's surrounding you.
Speaker:And when your back is to the door,
Speaker:it's hitting your back,
Speaker:not to the front.
Speaker:And so you want to constantly bring that in.
Speaker:Okay. So what if I'm someone who designs jewelry and I
Speaker:have a production studio right in my house because I make
Speaker:everything in the house.
Speaker:And I go to craft shows on the weekends or something.
Speaker:Is it still important that in my craft room or wherever
Speaker:I do my paperwork besides,
Speaker:or even creating the product,
Speaker:is it important there to be facing the door that enters
Speaker:into your space?
Speaker:Yes, absolutely.
Speaker:But what if nobody's coming in,
Speaker:It doesn't matter.
Speaker:You always want the energy to come in.
Speaker:Pretend you want to be the queen of your office,
Speaker:the queen of your business.
Speaker:We all do.
Speaker:So think about,
Speaker:if you go see royalty one,
Speaker:you walk up to royalty,
Speaker:right? Royalty is always looking at you.
Speaker:They don't have their back to you.
Speaker:So they're receiving you.
Speaker:And it just how the energy is coming on.
Speaker:You want to be receiving that amazing energy and not blocking
Speaker:it. The other thing is when you have your back to
Speaker:the door,
Speaker:it makes you very vulnerable.
Speaker:And even though,
Speaker:even on the subconscious level,
Speaker:you're always going to be on edge,
Speaker:even though there's no one coming in about what's going on
Speaker:in back of you,
Speaker:instinct, you're never going to be totally comfortable.
Speaker:A client realized that about two weeks ago because she insisted
Speaker:everything was great,
Speaker:but was having difficulties.
Speaker:And then all of a sudden it made sense to her.
Speaker:Oh my God,
Speaker:you're right.
Speaker:I'm really tense on a subconscious level.
Speaker:When my back is to the door,
Speaker:I'm much more comfortable,
Speaker:relaxed, receiving when I'm facing door.
Speaker:And then I'm in my power position.
Speaker:And that's what you always want to be.
Speaker:You want to in a power or control position in your
Speaker:space. So a power position facing the door versus a more
Speaker:subordinate, even though you may be the sole person in your
Speaker:company, but you still are kind of taking a subordinate position.
Speaker:If your back is to the door and you're facing a
Speaker:wall or something,
Speaker:maybe. Exactly.
Speaker:Yeah. Interesting.
Speaker:I work with people in cubicles too,
Speaker:and they go,
Speaker:Oh my God,
Speaker:I can't do anything.
Speaker:But there's things of how we arrange the cubicle with a
Speaker:mirror or just how we angle the computer,
Speaker:their laptop.
Speaker:There's a whole bunch of subtle things.
Speaker:You can make arrangements in there to make them have the
Speaker:power, the control they need in their office,
Speaker:in their space.
Speaker:If you don't want to be vulnerable,
Speaker:you want to be in charge of that.
Speaker:And that's how the energy is coming in.
Speaker:Well, I'm getting into this now.
Speaker:Okay. The first one was the front door.
Speaker:The second was making sure in your office space or your
Speaker:production space that you are facing the entrance,
Speaker:wherever that entrance is,
Speaker:okay, carry on.
Speaker:And the best direction I have to tell you,
Speaker:the most powerful position in your office is if you can
Speaker:be in a diagonal because it's like just how the energy
Speaker:crosses over.
Speaker:That's the best.
Speaker:The second one is,
Speaker:make sure you have a very sturdy,
Speaker:substantial chair is influential way.
Speaker:You always want to have support the Chinese built their villages
Speaker:against mountains,
Speaker:or they had a lot of trees.
Speaker:They always were looking for support for their structure.
Speaker:And that's really important.
Speaker:I go into some offices where people are sitting on a
Speaker:little tiny chair or like a little booed war chair,
Speaker:a folding chair.
Speaker:No, you want to sit in a solid high-back chair that
Speaker:has arms again,
Speaker:centering yourself like you're in charge.
Speaker:You're the King or queen of that office.
Speaker:Turn it around,
Speaker:looking at my chair as her time.
Speaker:And I'm not talking about,
Speaker:and you shouldn't have the mesh ones.
Speaker:Oh, nice and solid.
Speaker:Oh, okay.
Speaker:Obviously you haven't been to my place yet.
Speaker:It's you always are looking to support and you want to
Speaker:have support.
Speaker:And that's why you always want to have,
Speaker:if you can't,
Speaker:you're back to a wall,
Speaker:not to the Gore because you want to have that support.
Speaker:So if you've got your back to the wall,
Speaker:that awesome chair,
Speaker:your desk is facing,
Speaker:right? You are really setting yourself up,
Speaker:just doing those few things for great success.
Speaker:Okay. So we've got the front door,
Speaker:the office having a sturdy chair.
Speaker:Where do we go from here?
Speaker:Then? The other important thing I talk about is de-cluttering,
Speaker:that is huge.
Speaker:And the fourth thing that has to go with the de-cluttering,
Speaker:but at the end of the day,
Speaker:if everything is facing,
Speaker:right, you should always have in front of you.
Speaker:I call it like a little runway,
Speaker:maybe a one or two foot clear space,
Speaker:totally. In front of you.
Speaker:You can have stacks of files,
Speaker:books on your right side,
Speaker:left side,
Speaker:but you want to have a clear space.
Speaker:So when you come in the morning,
Speaker:you're not overwhelmed by all the things that have to get
Speaker:and looking for things.
Speaker:You have a clear space,
Speaker:take a few minutes to clear my and set your intention
Speaker:for that day.
Speaker:If you have stuff,
Speaker:papers, files all thrown on your desk,
Speaker:your first thought goes into,
Speaker:Oh my gosh,
Speaker:what do I have to do?
Speaker:Where am I going to find my stuff?
Speaker:It is amazing.
Speaker:Having that clear space allows you to readjust yourself for the
Speaker:day, how you want your day to go and setting your
Speaker:intention for the day.
Speaker:It is fabulous.
Speaker:So are you saying A clear space,
Speaker:like air in front of you or clear space?
Speaker:So your desk is just blank.
Speaker:Your desk is blank,
Speaker:ready for you to put whatever the first task of the
Speaker:day is going to be,
Speaker:or to create your plan better yet to create your plan.
Speaker:What are the big three things you need to do today?
Speaker:Or however you work For your day,
Speaker:it can be like a footer,
Speaker:one or two feet in diameter and just going all the
Speaker:way across your desk.
Speaker:And you can have nice organized files on the side,
Speaker:but you want to have that clear area right in front
Speaker:of you.
Speaker:So you,
Speaker:when you sit down and get your cup of coffee or
Speaker:tea, take a few minutes and say,
Speaker:okay, this is my attention for the day.
Speaker:This is what I want to accomplish for the day.
Speaker:It's going to come so much easier for you.
Speaker:Okay. So let me ask you this.
Speaker:We're interviewing on a Monday.
Speaker:So Friday when I left for the weekend,
Speaker:I was determined not to come into the office for the
Speaker:weekend, but I knew a project that I absolutely wanted to
Speaker:tackle this morning before you and I got on the phone.
Speaker:So I took that file folder and put it front and
Speaker:center on my desk.
Speaker:So I knew that I wouldn't forget that that was what
Speaker:I wanted to do.
Speaker:Is that a good thing or a bad?
Speaker:That is fine.
Speaker:That's good.
Speaker:As long as you didn't have 20 of them and all
Speaker:messed up,
Speaker:that was your focus.
Speaker:It was your front and center.
Speaker:Okay. The one thing you wanted to work on during that
Speaker:day, so that is fine.
Speaker:It's just that you don't want to have 10 file folders
Speaker:thrown on your desk,
Speaker:papers, notes,
Speaker:post-its pens all over.
Speaker:That can be on the side,
Speaker:but even on the side,
Speaker:it should be every night you should just spend two or
Speaker:three minutes organizing the site and having a third space in
Speaker:the front.
Speaker:It's amazing how it'll help start your day.
Speaker:Oh, that's right.
Speaker:So interesting.
Speaker:Okay. You have one more for us.
Speaker:Well, the other thing,
Speaker:and that's when I consult with people,
Speaker:which when you're talking about sitting at your desk in French
Speaker:way, when I personalize the energy in someone's office,
Speaker:we all have four amazing directions to be facing,
Speaker:sitting in being in an or directions that are not favorable
Speaker:for us.
Speaker:And you always should be facing at least one of your
Speaker:most favorable directions or the best productivity to get the best
Speaker:accomplished. That's another thing I do on a personal level.
Speaker:When I consult,
Speaker:Oh, you're able to define then what your favorable directions are.
Speaker:Yes. For every person.
Speaker:Got it.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:I'm going to summarize these and I guess I got an
Speaker:extra bonus out of you that you weren't expecting,
Speaker:but okay.
Speaker:So we've got the front door with the entrance,
Speaker:make sure it's clear and inviting.
Speaker:We've got in your office or production space.
Speaker:You should be facing the point of entrance.
Speaker:And diagonal is really good.
Speaker:You don't want to be facing a wall because that puts
Speaker:you in kind of a subordinate situation in terms of the
Speaker:environment and the energy.
Speaker:You want a sturdy chair,
Speaker:no mesh point,
Speaker:taken a decluttered environment and a clean space right in front
Speaker:of you as you leave your space at night.
Speaker:And then when you come back in,
Speaker:in the morning,
Speaker:which I think,
Speaker:especially I'm thinking of people who are producing things just to
Speaker:bakers, of course have to clean everything,
Speaker:a bride for sanitary purposes.
Speaker:But even if you have your tools and your supplies out,
Speaker:just putting things away,
Speaker:possibly you've completed a project or something that makes a lot
Speaker:of sense.
Speaker:And then in terms of sitting at your desk favorable direction,
Speaker:that's kind of your like little teaser for us,
Speaker:I guess I'll say it right.
Speaker:You've shared with us that there are favorable directions,
Speaker:but I'm guessing you really have to be working one-on-one because
Speaker:everyone has different favorable directions.
Speaker:Right? And also when I do the energy map,
Speaker:I call it of your,
Speaker:of your office.
Speaker:There was a certain paint colors,
Speaker:depending upon where your office is located in the house or
Speaker:in a building,
Speaker:or even the profession that you are doing,
Speaker:just colors that you want to have their scholars.
Speaker:You definitely do not want to have just how it all
Speaker:is still pertains to business cards.
Speaker:It pertains to where you hang certain things in your office.
Speaker:There's a lot of layers here.
Speaker:And that's what Essentially is.
Speaker:It's a lot of layers,
Speaker:but if you get someone who knows how to layer things
Speaker:and get it right,
Speaker:the success that people experience is phenomenal,
Speaker:but a year,
Speaker:right. It's getting the layers and it's second.
Speaker:It can be very subtle things.
Speaker:Speaking of the influence of color in your home or your
Speaker:business, I had a client was very interesting.
Speaker:His French way element was fire and his office was painted
Speaker:all Lou and an offense way.
Speaker:Blue represents the water element and his career for the last
Speaker:10 years has been literally up and down,
Speaker:up and down,
Speaker:up and down,
Speaker:right. And then down.
Speaker:And when I went into do all the personalization and I
Speaker:figured out that his personal primary almost fire and that the
Speaker:room was painted blue.
Speaker:What was happening?
Speaker:Energetically is the blue,
Speaker:which represents water,
Speaker:was putting out his fire,
Speaker:the flame,
Speaker:his energy.
Speaker:And so that's why he kept struggling so much.
Speaker:So we changed that he's been doing great.
Speaker:Oh, that's so interesting.
Speaker:And it makes total sense,
Speaker:but you just wouldn't identify it,
Speaker:I guess.
Speaker:Yeah. Until someone sits down and talks to you and now
Speaker:his wife that she was the water element for her at
Speaker:the office would have been perfect.
Speaker:But for him it was terrible.
Speaker:Then he had metal desk,
Speaker:last desk.
Speaker:We changed things up,
Speaker:made sure we had some more wood elements in there to
Speaker:support his fire element and change the color and wow,
Speaker:amazing. And also to make sure he priced the front door.
Speaker:There you go.
Speaker:So everybody has,
Speaker:is drawn or has within them a different element And the
Speaker:French way.
Speaker:Yes. And that's my personalize.
Speaker:It, you have a predominant element and that needs to be
Speaker:also supported.
Speaker:Oh my gosh.
Speaker:That's so cool.
Speaker:Like I said,
Speaker:just a changing of the color of the office,
Speaker:big, big impact on this guy.
Speaker:So it's really subtle things that can happen.
Speaker:And if people don't know that you can be painting things,
Speaker:the wrong color in the wrong area and have results that
Speaker:are not positive,
Speaker:or you can just intuitively pick a color and maybe things
Speaker:are wonderful.
Speaker:So like I said,
Speaker:it's, it is a very much layering of Who knew,
Speaker:Oh my gosh.
Speaker:I know.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:So when we were talking last week,
Speaker:do, we're just starting to talk about having you come on
Speaker:to the show.
Speaker:You were telling me that you also work with people remotely.
Speaker:I'm kind of thinking you have to be in their space,
Speaker:but how do you do that?
Speaker:Well, that's what I originally thought when I was getting into
Speaker:the French,
Speaker:my business,
Speaker:what I do is I ask them for a floor plan.
Speaker:That's key.
Speaker:I asked them for some personal information,
Speaker:which is not a lot.
Speaker:And the most important thing is if they don't have a
Speaker:compass, I have them downloaded the compass app on their phone.
Speaker:And I had them stand in their front door,
Speaker:whether it be to their office,
Speaker:to their apartment,
Speaker:condo, home,
Speaker:whatever, and take a compass reading,
Speaker:looking out that front door.
Speaker:And so then I put all these pieces together and I
Speaker:personalize the report and I go over it with the people.
Speaker:So I do not have to personally be there.
Speaker:People also send pictures,
Speaker:send pictures of their space before and after I will have
Speaker:pictures of the front door what's going on.
Speaker:So I will ask for specific things.
Speaker:So it's like,
Speaker:I'm there,
Speaker:I've got three clients I'm working with on the West coast
Speaker:right now.
Speaker:I've not seen their space,
Speaker:but I've seen the pictures.
Speaker:I've seen the floor plans and what they have done to
Speaker:change things and there's place in their space.
Speaker:They also send me the pictures of that.
Speaker:Huh. Really interesting.
Speaker:Yeah. Then we get an action plan and I'm always open
Speaker:for people calling me.
Speaker:Yeah. Just because I consult with you once.
Speaker:It's a mean that I'm not going to be available to
Speaker:answer the simple question You've given us some great ideas.
Speaker:All of us can now take right from what you've just
Speaker:even said and analyze the different rooms in our environment,
Speaker:what their uses are,
Speaker:et cetera.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:obviously we can't go deep into everything on this call,
Speaker:but a couple of things that we can really look at,
Speaker:which is fabulous.
Speaker:Talk a little bit about the secret and why connecting up
Speaker:with Marie diamond is so cool.
Speaker:Well, first talk about the secret,
Speaker:just in case,
Speaker:for some reason,
Speaker:somebody doesn't know what that's about.
Speaker:Okay. That came out 10 years ago.
Speaker:I was first introduced to it.
Speaker:My son was what eight watching Oprah and Rhonda burn came
Speaker:on. And a couple other people that John asked and different
Speaker:people that are in the secret were on the show.
Speaker:And it's all about the law of attraction and positive affirmations.
Speaker:And how do you track what you want into your,
Speaker:I loved that.
Speaker:It was great.
Speaker:I bought the whole thing and on there was Marie diamond
Speaker:and she was the French way person.
Speaker:I was like,
Speaker:Oh, that's interesting.
Speaker:She talked about a client.
Speaker:She was working with an LA and stuff.
Speaker:And what happened?
Speaker:And, Oh,
Speaker:this is really interesting.
Speaker:And in the process,
Speaker:I was taking some classes with a couple other instructors who
Speaker:were taught with Lillian to in classical French way.
Speaker:And she's in Malaysia.
Speaker:Then all of a sudden I decided kind of like reached
Speaker:the top of where I could go with these instructors.
Speaker:So I thought I really want to learn more.
Speaker:I want to really expand my business.
Speaker:I really want to dive deeper into this because I love
Speaker:this topic spontaneously.
Speaker:Really. It was really kind of crazy through another organization with
Speaker:Marie diamond,
Speaker:bought her set of tapes.
Speaker:Then I got invited to a retreat.
Speaker:She was having first time,
Speaker:she had it in 11 years in Minneapolis.
Speaker:And then I enrolled in her program and had been working
Speaker:with her broken men,
Speaker:a couple of,
Speaker:for teachers.
Speaker:And so it's phenomenal.
Speaker:And Rhonda Byrne was actually Marie diamonds,
Speaker:clients and Marie diamond was one who kind of helped motivate
Speaker:her to get things going,
Speaker:kind of introduced to some people and was working with her.
Speaker:So it's pretty fascinating how it's kind of come full circle
Speaker:in an offense way.
Speaker:You are really talking and focusing on the law of attraction
Speaker:because how you set up your space,
Speaker:your environment it's to attract the good energy it's to attract
Speaker:opportunities, the things that you want in your life.
Speaker:Yeah. I believe in the law of attraction,
Speaker:100%. I keep seeing it over and over again.
Speaker:Oh yeah.
Speaker:It's really powerful.
Speaker:And one of the things I did last year for 2017,
Speaker:I did a French way.
Speaker:Vision board workshop with Marie Minneapolis was phenomenal.
Speaker:And I ran several vision board workshops this year and the
Speaker:things that people manifested and sell quickly.
Speaker:Just amazing.
Speaker:Let's talk a little bit about resources or now I'm expecting
Speaker:big things from you,
Speaker:Marianne after all of this cause you help everybody else here.
Speaker:But what do you do in your own environment,
Speaker:working with your own business to stay productive or to create
Speaker:balance between your business and your personal life?
Speaker:It's a good question because sometimes it's hard because sometimes I
Speaker:find myself working.
Speaker:Even you have challenges,
Speaker:Challenges, part of it is to constantly stay around.
Speaker:And I think the biggest struggle we all face is the
Speaker:clutter one.
Speaker:I like to spread out when I'm working on someone's floor
Speaker:plan and getting their report done,
Speaker:and then sometimes I'll get called away to do something else.
Speaker:So it takes a conscious effort.
Speaker:I made to come back and organize my office the way
Speaker:I'm telling people to organize theirs.
Speaker:So it's always a conscious effort,
Speaker:but it's becoming second nature.
Speaker:But how do I keep current on constantly going on the
Speaker:websites, taking classes like taking a ton of classes this year
Speaker:with Marie and her organization hooking into motivational coaches and speakers.
Speaker:And also there was a handful of French way consultants who
Speaker:do some webinars who have some great websites who not been
Speaker:on a podcast yet with any of them,
Speaker:but definitely webinars.
Speaker:And so I'm always looking to see what people are doing
Speaker:and I've connected with a number of people out there.
Speaker:So it's been a nice resource.
Speaker:I've got people on the East coast,
Speaker:West coast,
Speaker:down in Texas and out in NASA to Florida.
Speaker:So it's nice to keep that network and see what people
Speaker:are doing and new.
Speaker:And I'm perhaps a lifelong learner.
Speaker:I will always keep learning because I love it.
Speaker:And the more I can bring to my practice to my
Speaker:clients, I just feel it's a gift to be able to
Speaker:do that and put more things in my toolbox for everybody.
Speaker:Absolutely. And I would imagine because the history of funkshway is
Speaker:so deep that they're continually new things that are being enhanced,
Speaker:new ideas,
Speaker:new things that are working today.
Speaker:Let's face it.
Speaker:Now we have all this technical stuff that is draining us
Speaker:or motivating off depends on how you look at that.
Speaker:So I'm sure that has impacted our environments for sure.
Speaker:Well, and one of the classes that I'm taking that goes
Speaker:along with that consulting with Marie,
Speaker:like I said,
Speaker:she's taken me to another level is dousing.
Speaker:And that is where I go in and I identify energy
Speaker:vortex is in your space that come from the earth and
Speaker:it's nothing that's created.
Speaker:It's coming from the earth.
Speaker:And depending upon how strong it is,
Speaker:I've learned how to neutralize that because that will affect your
Speaker:productivity, affect your environment.
Speaker:The other big source for you talked about technology is all
Speaker:the EMS coming from cell phone towers,
Speaker:from your computers from poorly wired buildings.
Speaker:And there's things that you can do to neutralize that,
Speaker:to make the environment better for you.
Speaker:So it's not an interference for you.
Speaker:Define EMS.
Speaker:It's going to be the electric magnetic fields.
Speaker:Okay. That's all out in the environment,
Speaker:particularly cell phone,
Speaker:cell towers,
Speaker:everything that you're surrounded with.
Speaker:And right now today you're surround with I'm sure a lot
Speaker:doing the podcast.
Speaker:That's all electrical stuff for me.
Speaker:And I did an apartment in Chicago and a very old
Speaker:building. It was amazing because I forgot in Chicago in the
Speaker:older neighborhoods,
Speaker:you still have the really thick,
Speaker:heavy electrical wires coming into your building.
Speaker:And this building was a three flat and they had like
Speaker:six huge wires coming in on both sides of the building.
Speaker:And that area in that room was so challenged energetically,
Speaker:but it fixed a lot of things.
Speaker:So it just things like that.
Speaker:You don't even realize how it's affecting the space.
Speaker:And this is a couple who had moved,
Speaker:love their other space.
Speaker:The minute they moved,
Speaker:tons of problems started happening professionally personally,
Speaker:but I went and measured everything and I measured the energy
Speaker:level of a space before and after it's phenomenal,
Speaker:what you can do to change that.
Speaker:So you always want to be in a high energy level,
Speaker:not a low energy.
Speaker:Okay. So just to the extent that you can share,
Speaker:just kind of,
Speaker:obviously you can't change electrical wires that are coming into a
Speaker:building. So what,
Speaker:in that type of a situation,
Speaker:can you do In my training with the dowsing,
Speaker:there's ways to what I call neutralize that energy.
Speaker:And it's by using rest rods,
Speaker:a very thin brass rods that are energized or that energy
Speaker:to neutralize it.
Speaker:And they're at different colored ones.
Speaker:And so I will go and locate that place.
Speaker:Roger can't really even see them.
Speaker:And within three seconds it changes the flow of energy.
Speaker:It's phenomenal,
Speaker:three seconds,
Speaker:three seconds,
Speaker:one, two,
Speaker:three, but you've got to know what you're doing and how
Speaker:you're measuring it.
Speaker:Oh my gosh.
Speaker:That's so crazy.
Speaker:Yeah. Were you facing it?
Speaker:But it's amazing because it affects you all the time and
Speaker:you're being surrounded by it.
Speaker:Like one of the things you should never have your cell
Speaker:phone or be sleeping with anything near your head or your
Speaker:cell phone should be at least five,
Speaker:six feet away from you.
Speaker:And so many people are connected.
Speaker:They have to have their cell phone near and they want
Speaker:to hear,
Speaker:someone's have an emergency or what's coming in.
Speaker:And she gives us a lot of different energy that impacts
Speaker:you. And when you're sleeping,
Speaker:you want to restore yourself.
Speaker:I want to be drained.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:So as we start winding down here,
Speaker:we have somebody who's listening who is just now going into
Speaker:a new retail space,
Speaker:or perhaps they've decided that they're starting a business and it's
Speaker:going to be out of the house and they have the
Speaker:blank room.
Speaker:We've already talked about positioning of furniture and all of that.
Speaker:Any other ideas you were talking about colors and all of
Speaker:that, but any direction for someone who is just starting with
Speaker:a new space,
Speaker:just to give them a little bit of a feel at
Speaker:how to get started with this,
Speaker:That's very difficult.
Speaker:Other than the few things I did share with you,
Speaker:because it's dependent upon where that space is located in the
Speaker:bigger space.
Speaker:I think that I am stressing it to everyone is that
Speaker:your office should be your first marketing place for your business.
Speaker:Everyone spends a ton of money on marketing their business,
Speaker:but their offices are rec because it's how you feel about
Speaker:doing your business,
Speaker:your job,
Speaker:and manifesting your goals.
Speaker:And if your office is not aligned with you and your
Speaker:energies and your goals,
Speaker:you will lose about 33% of your focus in income.
Speaker:It's really interesting.
Speaker:So that's why it's so important to have a properly arranged
Speaker:office. And if it can be personalized to you,
Speaker:that is amazing because everything is focused on you and your
Speaker:business. Firstly not just generally and that's comes a big difference.
Speaker:Yeah. And this then brings an idea to me that we
Speaker:haven't really talked about.
Speaker:I just want to make the statement and get your opinion
Speaker:on it.
Speaker:If someone is feeling like they've been in business,
Speaker:things are just not going quite right,
Speaker:regardless of your location.
Speaker:I don't think people ever think about looking at their environment.
Speaker:And I'm just kind of recognizing that that's something to look
Speaker:at as well.
Speaker:I mean,
Speaker:obviously you have to get in customers and all of that,
Speaker:right? But never looking at the environment as potentially a base
Speaker:driver to help you advance in other areas.
Speaker:It really is.
Speaker:I've also someone who said,
Speaker:okay, I want you to do my office has very,
Speaker:very amazing goals is in an MLM business and really amazing
Speaker:goals for this year next year and is traveling a lot.
Speaker:And that says,
Speaker:okay, when I move and I want you to do my
Speaker:office, everything is a mess.
Speaker:I keep saying,
Speaker:it's really important.
Speaker:I don't care if it's a mess,
Speaker:if you're moving or not moving up,
Speaker:but to get your office set up so that it's set
Speaker:up for your success,
Speaker:you will be carrying that energy and that feeling with you
Speaker:wherever you go,
Speaker:even though you're traveling.
Speaker:So your office is really the base of your marketing for
Speaker:your business.
Speaker:It's a place where people should start first and people don't
Speaker:really do that.
Speaker:Just like people will go to webinars.
Speaker:Workshops. Companies will bring in presenters to focus on something and
Speaker:everyone will be excited,
Speaker:charged up for a day or two.
Speaker:And then everything just loses steam.
Speaker:And it goes back to the normal light inset because you're
Speaker:going back to the same space.
Speaker:And if your space isn't nurturing,
Speaker:you is not providing that environment for you to strive to
Speaker:go ahead,
Speaker:to attract things.
Speaker:You will go back to the same space.
Speaker:You'll go back into the same.
Speaker:So to speak ruts that you were in and it becomes
Speaker:status quo.
Speaker:Again, again,
Speaker:looking at the space is huge and accompany.
Speaker:It's important that the president vice-president are seated or their offices
Speaker:in a certain way.
Speaker:The marketing people,
Speaker:the sales people,
Speaker:the office assistants are seated in certain areas to get the
Speaker:most productivity.
Speaker:And so many of them are just even sitting in the
Speaker:wrong spot,
Speaker:in their own office space.
Speaker:It's a lot of different things to take into account,
Speaker:but it can be simple.
Speaker:Eventually doesn't have to cost a fortune and expense money does
Speaker:not mean your office is going to look Asian at all.
Speaker:It's all about arranging the space.
Speaker:You'll go,
Speaker:Oh my God,
Speaker:I don't want my office to look.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:I trust me it doesn't because we bring in the elements.
Speaker:We bring in the balance through color,
Speaker:through elements,
Speaker:with things that you have in your space.
Speaker:And ideally you want to have every space balanced,
Speaker:but balanced also for an attracting for wherever that space is
Speaker:located. And to you personally,
Speaker:This is so good Maryanne really,
Speaker:really interesting.
Speaker:Well, like I said,
Speaker:it's a lot of layers and I start slow with my
Speaker:clients, trust me,
Speaker:I start slow.
Speaker:And then I will add on some things.
Speaker:And when I give a whole report,
Speaker:I'll say,
Speaker:okay, this is what I want you to focus on in
Speaker:the next week or two.
Speaker:And when this is done,
Speaker:then you should go do this.
Speaker:Because if you do a lot of shifting of energy in
Speaker:a space,
Speaker:like if I came into your space and I said,
Speaker:okay, I want you to do 10 things.
Speaker:You do those 10 things.
Speaker:You'll be surprised.
Speaker:The energy shifts will have a great impact.
Speaker:It may take several weeks for you to readjust.
Speaker:Things might get worse before they get better,
Speaker:because you're changing that full of energy.
Speaker:So everything has to readjust.
Speaker:So I encourage people go slow,
Speaker:but if you're starting out in a blank space,
Speaker:or if you've got a room that has nothing in it,
Speaker:how awesome is it to be able to set it up
Speaker:to your best erections,
Speaker:to welcome in that energy and to feel like you're the
Speaker:King or queen of your own office and business.
Speaker:Beautiful. Love that.
Speaker:Perfect. Now I would like to invite you to dare to
Speaker:dream Maryanne.
Speaker:I'd like to present you with a virtual gift.
Speaker:It's a magical box containing unlimited possibilities for your future.
Speaker:This is your dream or your goal of almost unreachable Heights
Speaker:that you would wish to obtain.
Speaker:Please accept this gift.
Speaker:And actually right now I'm changing it from a box to
Speaker:a room.
Speaker:You get to open the door to the room and tell
Speaker:us what's inside.
Speaker:Well inside is this awesome office in a building at my
Speaker:home. It's right now,
Speaker:my office is in my home.
Speaker:And my big vision is to be an international French way,
Speaker:consultant and motivational speaker.
Speaker:So as to help people create a space to manifest their
Speaker:goals, whether they be for wealth,
Speaker:success, health,
Speaker:personal growth,
Speaker:or relationships,
Speaker:so that they can have the best life moving forward.
Speaker:Is that Going to include travel international travel?
Speaker:Yes, that's what I want to do.
Speaker:And that will allow me once I get my certification with
Speaker:Marie, I'll be on her international website.
Speaker:So I will also be able to teach and travel and
Speaker:consult. That's my dream as to help people because so many
Speaker:people are stuck and don't look at the space as an
Speaker:integral part of your success in your business.
Speaker:So if any of our listeners want to know a little
Speaker:bit more about you,
Speaker:where would you direct them to Go?
Speaker:You can go to my website,
Speaker:which is bench way or success.net.
Speaker:Perfect. And give his listeners as you know,
Speaker:there'll be a show notes,
Speaker:page attached,
Speaker:and I will have all the information for Marianne,
Speaker:her website,
Speaker:social media site,
Speaker:all of that.
Speaker:Marianne, thank you so much.
Speaker:Oh my gosh.
Speaker:This is so interesting.
Speaker:I'm so excited for you to come out now and look
Speaker:at my space.
Speaker:I think I'm a little bit nervous.
Speaker:I'll be nervous.
Speaker:But one of the things I tell people when I physically
Speaker:go out,
Speaker:or if I'm working with them even long distance,
Speaker:I want them not to clean.
Speaker:I don't want anything put away.
Speaker:I do not want them to clean or organize because I
Speaker:want to come in and see what you're dealing with and
Speaker:facing every day.
Speaker:So I can figure out where the blockages are,
Speaker:what we need to improve on and to open up that
Speaker:space. If you clean everything and stuff in the closet,
Speaker:I don't know what your daily life is like.
Speaker:You're kind of defeating the purpose,
Speaker:I guess.
Speaker:Yeah. I want to know,
Speaker:but somebody people want to clean and organize to go.
Speaker:No, no,
Speaker:no. You can do that after we talk,
Speaker:but I want to see what your daily life is like,
Speaker:where the challenges are coming from.
Speaker:And if I can't see that,
Speaker:then I can't help you with the challenges and to move
Speaker:to the next level.
Speaker:Yeah. I think that you mentioned to me,
Speaker:you might have a little holiday gift for our listeners.
Speaker:Yes I do.
Speaker:So anyone who is listening in and would like to have
Speaker:their office space evaluated,
Speaker:I am giving a $25 off initial consultation to the end
Speaker:of December,
Speaker:actually the January 1st.
Speaker:We'll do that.
Speaker:Okay. So the end of the year,
Speaker:yeah, a year.
Speaker:And what does that involve?
Speaker:If someone were to do that,
Speaker:what would that involve?
Speaker:Are they calling you or like,
Speaker:is it just for local people?
Speaker:Is it for anybody?
Speaker:No, it can't be anyone.
Speaker:Cause number,
Speaker:I can do this long distance.
Speaker:I can do it all over the United States,
Speaker:the world,
Speaker:because I will ask for certain information and I can work
Speaker:from that.
Speaker:Well, that's exciting gift biz listeners is a little bit of
Speaker:an additional,
Speaker:extra gift for you.
Speaker:Well, that's for their office and coming on the new year
Speaker:and the energies that are shifting and you just want people
Speaker:to have a great start for the new Once again,
Speaker:Maryanne, thank you so much for all of the generous information
Speaker:that you've given us.
Speaker:We now can go back and move our chairs around,
Speaker:move our desks around,
Speaker:put some nice plants in the front of our homes,
Speaker:all of that.
Speaker:So much success for you.
Speaker:I can't wait to hear you just flying off to all
Speaker:these really cool places to share your learning and may your
Speaker:candle always burn bright.
Speaker:Thank you.
