Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's wild and wonderful.

David Spoon:

What's going to happen?

David Spoon:

We have no idea.

David Spoon:

Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

David Spoon:

Can I get a Wowzer Bowser?

David Spoon:

Wednesday, Because God is in charge of this crazy bus called the Christian Journey.

David Spoon:

First, it's Wednesday, and that means I get to share the classics from my past.

David Spoon:

The apostle Peter.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Another reference to Peter said this.

David Spoon:

Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.

David Spoon:

I think it is right to refresh your memory.

David Spoon:

As long as I live in the tent of my body.

David Spoon:

So I strongly personally believe that when we bring back some of these classics, we're standing on solid ground because the Lord wants us to be reminded.

David Spoon:

Next, we're going to talk about some of the more important tactics that Satan uses against us to thwart us.

David Spoon:

Actually, there are two that really do stand out above the rest.

David Spoon:

And we're going to examine how we can heighten our awareness to set off the spiritual warfare alarm.

David Spoon:

Doo doo doo doo doo doo.

David Spoon:

That should be ringing when the enemy is attacking.

David Spoon:

And finally, the biggest issue that comes to bear is how many of us are in fact bound up.

David Spoon:

It might be a bad habit that we do.

David Spoon:

Might be physical.

David Spoon:

It might be a bad habit that we do emotionally.

David Spoon:

Might be something that operates mentally.

David Spoon:

But we need to remember is that Jesus came to set the captives free.

David Spoon:

And in those areas where we are bound up, we are in need of freedom.

David Spoon:

But does that mean that we sit around and allow Satan, the accuser of the brethren, just to throw things at us, telling us we're worthless Christians?

David Spoon:

No, it means that we trust and lean on God, that he really is full of grace, mercy and love.

David Spoon:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

David Spoon:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

David Spoon:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

David Spoon:

The more he studied the Gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

David Spoon:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

David Spoon:

He joined KAM and this radio program began.

David Spoon:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations.

David Spoon:

My life's insanity is so much more.

David Spoon:

Now, remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

And just to prove it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

We're going to bring in the top dog of professional radio, our very own Jam and Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jam and Jacob as the top dog is the David soon experience professional radio.

David Spoon:

No, it is not.

David Spoon:

David, I really kind of thought you were going to go.

David Spoon:

I did for a second, but.

David Spoon:

Okay, I'm just going to say you are correct.

David Spoon:

Do you want me to bark like a dog?

David Spoon:

No, I just thought it'd be funny.

David Spoon:

Anyway, anyway, here's the bottom line.

David Spoon:

The bottom line is what?

David Spoon:

Well, I say bottom line about 30 times in a show.

David Spoon:

We're simply seeing what you got going on.

David Spoon:

What do you think?

David Spoon:

How you doing?

David Spoon:

What's taking place now?

David Spoon:

You can email us during the show, David.

David Spoon:

Must increase.org that's david@hemustincrease.org it's an email.

David Spoon:

It works.

David Spoon:

You don't even need a stamp.

David Spoon:

You can also text during the show.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can call us.

David Spoon:

You can call us.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Give us a call.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like waking up and feeling like you got a great night's sleep.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Happy Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Isn't that the greatest thing when you get a great night's sleep?

David Spoon:

I mean, it's just like you just wake up, you're like, oh, yeah, yeah.

David Spoon:

It's like, you know it right away, too.

David Spoon:

When you wake up, you think.

David Spoon:

When you wake up, you think, I got a great night's sleep.

David Spoon:

And then sometimes it's, oh, I didn't get enough sleep.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I know.

David Spoon:

And you know, you know how you know, it's like when that commercial comes on, I don't know anything about brain surgery, but I think I can help you because I stayed at, at a Holiday Inn Express.

David Spoon:

That's a great, great, great commercial.

David Spoon:

I love that stuff.

David Spoon:

All right, bottom line, folks, let's just keep it simple.

David Spoon:

Why would you send us a text?

David Spoon:

Why would you send us an email?

David Spoon:

Why would you call us?

David Spoon:

Well, first of all, you're crazy.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry, did I say that out loud?

David Spoon:

Okay, you are welcome to do that because you have the opportunity to share a praise report, which are important because the Bible says, let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

David Spoon:

And when God takes your feet and puts them on a rock and puts a new song in your heart, you're supposed to share it.

David Spoon:

That's what happens.

David Spoon:

So if the Lord has done something, share it doesn't mean, oh, David, it's not the splitting of the Red Sea.

David Spoon:

Only the splitting of the Red Sea was the splitting of the Red Sea.

David Spoon:

Everything God does, little and big are things that God does, and it's those little things.

David Spoon:

Remember, he knows every nuance of everything.

David Spoon:

And when he gives you those graces and those little places, those gracelets, you should be appreciative.

David Spoon:

Let him know.

David Spoon:

Honor him by sharing with others.

David Spoon:

Because sometimes people just need that little just to recognize he's in every detail.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

You got stuff going on.

David Spoon:

Like I said, we're going to pray for Nancy's dad in just a little bit.

David Spoon:

And we're going to pray for Nancy as well and for anybody else that needs prayer, because prayer works.

David Spoon:

And no matter what any other person says on planet Earth, myself included, the answer to everything is more of God.

David Spoon:

Everything, period.

David Spoon:

Let me express this in a way you could really understand that everything is better with more of God.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I think I feel like I've done that pretty effectively.

David Spoon:

All right, so it could be something along those lines.

David Spoon:

You got a prayer request, maybe you got a scripture, and the Lord's just blessed you and you just want to share it, and it's a real blessing.

David Spoon:

Maybe you have an answer to trivia.

David Spoon:

Now, before we get to trivia, we do have somebody on the phone.

David Spoon:

So I want to give them an opportunity to see what's going on, see how we can bless and help.

David Spoon:

So let's do this.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

J.D.:

David, this is J.D.

David Spoon:

Hey, J.D.

David Spoon:

how are you, brother?

J.D.:

I love the way the Lord works with his timing.

J.D.:

I don't.

J.D.:

I'm not listening the radio today.

J.D.:

I have somebody else's vehicle.

J.D.:

It's like, oh, I want to call David and do a prayer request.

J.D.:

And there you are saying you can call in for prayer requests.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

Don't you love it?

David Spoon:

It's just so awesome.

David Spoon:

Oh, that's just so good.

David Spoon:

He's pretty amazing, isn't he?

David Spoon:

He is amazing.

David Spoon:

He's got more things going on.

David Spoon:

We're all up there going, what?

David Spoon:

What, what?

David Spoon:

And God's going, got it covered.

David Spoon:

Got it covered.

David Spoon:

Got it covered.

David Spoon:

You know, awesome.

David Spoon:

What can I pray for you, brother?

David Spoon:

What's going on.

J.D.:

Okay.

J.D.:

I have a bic.

J.D.:

A brother in Christ.

David Spoon:

Got it.

J.D.:

It's.

J.D.:

Some of your listeners may know him.

J.D.:

It's Wesley from the gun shows.

David Spoon:

Okay.

J.D.:

And he's got carpal tunnel really bad.

J.D.:

He's going to be having surgery here real soon, but he's not able to get any sleep because of the pain.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Okay.

J.D.:

And he also.

J.D.:

He's gonna have.

J.D.:

He's got the first surgery in December.

J.D.:

I don't remember when the other rest will be done.

J.D.:

And then first part of the year, he's gonna have back surgery.

J.D.:

So, I mean, if we could have a prayer about him being able to rest at night and have the pain subside, be able to rest at night and guide the surgeon's hands.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I'm with you.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Let's bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

We're gonna pray for Nancy's dad, by the way.

David Spoon:

Had a really bad night last night.

David Spoon:

We're gonna pray for him at the same time for Wesley and for her dad.

David Spoon:

So let's just bring it to the Lord.

David Spoon:

But let's do this.

David Spoon:

Let's take that little bit of seed of a mustard seed of faith.

David Spoon:

Let's push out the doubt, and let's believe that God is as generous as we in our hearts hope he is, because he's even more generous than that.

David Spoon:

So let's.

David Spoon:

Let's bring it to prayer.

David Spoon:

You ready?

J.D.:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

I just want to thank you for.

David Spoon:

Jd I ask you to bless him.

David Spoon:

Thank you for taking.

David Spoon:

Taking up the burden of somebody else.

David Spoon:

That is the fulfillment of your call for us to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

David Spoon:

And that's what he's doing.

David Spoon:

So I want to thank you for him and ask you to bless him for that.

David Spoon:

We're going to lift up Wesley to you right now.

David Spoon:

And he's got a couple of different things going on, but let's just start with.

David Spoon:

There's great angst.

David Spoon:

There's maybe some anxiety, maybe some reservation.

David Spoon:

He's got a surgery.

David Spoon:

He's got the carpal tunnel.

David Spoon:

That's going on in December.

David Spoon:

He's got back surgery coming up.

David Spoon:

He's in a great amount of pain, Lord, you know that.

David Spoon:

And he's not being able to rest.

David Spoon:

But that is your specialty, bringing people comfort and rest when it doesn't make sense.

David Spoon:

And that's what we're asking you to pour on Wesley.

David Spoon:

I mean, pour it on him.

David Spoon:

Let him know your Presence.

David Spoon:

And in your presence, as you're pouring upon him, let him find grace, peace, mercy, and rest.

David Spoon:

Fully confident, fully comfortable.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, chase out that any kind of fear, any kind of echo from the enemy.

David Spoon:

Push that aside.

David Spoon:

Not only are we asking you to guide and direct the surgeon, we're asking you to alleviate his pain.

David Spoon:

Break the power of that pain like you broke the power of the fire for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

David Spoon:

Break the power of it and let him find healing and let him find comfort and let him find confidence in your presence.

David Spoon:

And while we pray for Leslie, we also pray for Nancy, who's going through it.

David Spoon:

Her dad had a really tough night.

David Spoon:

You know all about that.

David Spoon:

Lord, we're asking you to have mercy on that family, to bring comfort to Nancy and to bring a stillness to this situation which keeps erupting and erupting.

David Spoon:

Speak to the waves and the wind in that situation, that the waves would be still and the wind would be quiet.

David Spoon:

Pour out your presence.

David Spoon:

Bring these healings, bring these touches.

David Spoon:

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.

David Spoon:

And we say amen and amen.

Deborah:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Amen, brother.

David Spoon:

Amen.

J.D.:

And I saw a translation of amen.

J.D.:

It means truly, that is correct.

David Spoon:

There's like, four translations.

David Spoon:

It's truth, truly.

David Spoon:

So be it.

David Spoon:

It shall be.

David Spoon:

All of those are.

David Spoon:

Every one of those are correct.

David Spoon:

Exactly right, Truly.

David Spoon:

That is it.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

Do that.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

J.D.:

Thank you, my Bic.

David Spoon:

All right, brother.

David Spoon:

Brother in Christ.

David Spoon:

Love you.

J.D.:

Love you, too.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

See, that's what we do.

David Spoon:

We pray for one another.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because that's what we do.

David Spoon:

Because that's what we should all be doing.

David Spoon:

Because everybody should be doing that, shouldn't they?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

And I'll give you.

David Spoon:

Well, we'll get to that.

David Spoon:

We'll do that in just a second.

David Spoon:

I'm going to tell you a story.

David Spoon:

You're going to go, what?

David Spoon:

This happened today.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Just one of those weird stories.

David Spoon:

I even told Jacob.

David Spoon:

I got a weird story to tell.

David Spoon:

I mean, it's weird even from my perspective.

David Spoon:

I told my son about it today.

David Spoon:

But before I get into any of that, let's go back, and I want to ask the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Now that we've done that, you know, you can call us.

David Spoon:

You know, you can text us.

David Spoon:

So if you call, it's simple.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

I'm looking right at my email.

David Spoon:

See, it's working.

David Spoon:

Everything's working.

David Spoon:

I'm so happy it's working.

David Spoon:

Email David.

David Spoon:

Must increase.org I do have another trivia question, so I want you get ready.

David Spoon:

This is on the heels of something that happened yesterday.

David Spoon:

So you guys should be Johnny on the spot on this.

David Spoon:

Now listen to the question.

David Spoon:

It's the same similar question I asked yesterday, but it's going from a different direction.

David Spoon:

Which two other disciples did Jesus take with him and Peter up to the mountain when he was transfigured before him?

David Spoon:

What other two disciples were there with Jesus and Peter that Jesus took with him on the mount of transfiguration?

David Spoon:

Matthew 17, 1:2.

David Spoon:

You just read that yesterday.

David Spoon:

You guys got to know that.

David Spoon:

Which two other disciples did Jesus take with Peter up to the mountain when he was transfigured before them?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 17, verse one and two.

David Spoon:

Who were the other two disciples?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

David.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we're going to do our DNA.

David Spoon:

My DNA originated from my brother, who may or may not be listening right now.

David Spoon:

He is in Texas, so you'll all be glad to know he arrived safely.

David Spoon:

This originally came when he asked, how do we handle all the things that are going on?

David Spoon:

This was several years ago.

David Spoon:

And I was like, well, we got to operate in these three things.

David Spoon:

And that's when I came up with, well, I was talking to him DNA.

David Spoon:

So not only did he lead me to the Lord, but the Lord used him to help create this.

David Spoon:

And I think this is really helpful for me personally, just so you can know.

David Spoon:

D and then when do we get to a.

David Spoon:

That's what I'm going to share the story.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord Daily.

David Spoon:

Daily.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Now, Clark Kent, Superman.

David Spoon:

Clark Kent worked at the Daily Planet.

David Spoon:

What was that?

David Spoon:

That was a newspaper that came out daily.

David Spoon:

I think you guys can figure that out.

David Spoon:

I just feel in my heart you can get that, you know, every day you breathe every day that ends in Y that right there.

David Spoon:

And when we're saying draw closer to the Lord, don't tell me.

David Spoon:

Well, I watched this show and I got closer.

David Spoon:

I'M not talking about it.

David Spoon:

I'm talking about you and God.

David Spoon:

It could be through prayer.

David Spoon:

It can be through fellowship, but it should be through prayer and through the Word.

David Spoon:

Prayer where you're talking to him.

David Spoon:

The Word where he's talking to you.

David Spoon:

And actually if you do it right, prayer where you're talking to him and he's talking to you and His Word where he's talking to you and you're talking to him, that's really how it should go.

David Spoon:

But I'll get into that another time.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

D and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

Yes, the world will try.

David Spoon:

They're still trying.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

The election did this.

David Spoon:

This will be this.

David Spoon:

This.

David Spoon:

They're still going to try and tell you, oh, trans are fantastic.

David Spoon:

It's a sin, period.

David Spoon:

God made them Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

David Spoon:

Get over it.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

It's just so dumb at this point.

David Spoon:

And God knows what a male and female is.

David Spoon:

It's people that are confused, not God.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

And Jesus said, if you're ashamed of me and my words, I'll be ashamed of you when I come back in the Father's glory.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

So d draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Always ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Now you've heard me talk about this literally, just literally, you've heard me mention, just be ready.

David Spoon:

You don't know what's going to go on.

David Spoon:

You don't know what's going to happen.

David Spoon:

I will tell you what happened today.

David Spoon:

Do I think this is part of it?

David Spoon:

I do.

David Spoon:

Does what I'm going to share with you mean that what I did made the difference?

David Spoon:

I have no idea.

David Spoon:

Probably not.

David Spoon:

But I want to be ready.

David Spoon:

So Noel got up really early this morning.

David Spoon:

How early?

David Spoon:

4:00.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's pretty early, right?

David Spoon:

I got up at 4:30, right?

David Spoon:

Got all my stuff done, all my stuff going.

David Spoon:

And I decided, you know what?

David Spoon:

I've got all my stuff done like a couple hours ahead of time.

David Spoon:

I'm going to go to the gym, right?

David Spoon:

Nothing weird there.

David Spoon:

You guys know I go to the gym.

David Spoon:

I went to the gym, finished my workout, getting just towards the very, very end, this happened.

David Spoon:

This happened today.

David Spoon:

These two guys who were working on the weights, they started yelling at one another and it escalated like enormous.

David Spoon:

And when I say these two guys, I'm not a small person, but these guys were like football linebacker size huge.

David Spoon:

And they're both big and they're both yelling and getting in each other's face and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

So I did mosey over to the front desk and said, you guys probably want to get involved in this.

David Spoon:

This doesn't look like a good scene.

David Spoon:

But then I went to the side and I prayed for a spirit of peace and calm.

David Spoon:

And about five minutes later, it was all resolved.

David Spoon:

They settled down, everything chilled out.

David Spoon:

Does that mean that that prayer did it?

David Spoon:

I don't know, but that's not the point.

David Spoon:

The point is that's how you gotta be ready.

David Spoon:

No matter where you are, no matter what you're doing, no matter what's going on.

David Spoon:

Available.

David Spoon:

Available to be used by the Lord.

David Spoon:

Get that?

David Spoon:

That's pretty important, right?

David Spoon:

Josh was like, I told my son Josh, he goes, get the police.

David Spoon:

They're big like that.

David Spoon:

Get the police.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Anyway, so the Lord had grace and mercy on that situation.

David Spoon:

And fortunately, weights did not go flying through the big gym.

David Spoon:

That was good, too.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true stationary in Texas.

David Spoon:

Your break will be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Roger:

Who is David Spoon?

Roger:

I have no idea.

Roger:

People have asked me about the David Spoon Experience.

Roger:

They wanted to know what I thought of him.

Roger:

Like any person searching for answers, I have wondered about him.

Roger:

He was born and raised Jewish and after intense drug use, became a Christian.

Roger:

He's married to his best friend Noel, has three children, six grandchildren, and a dog named Bert.

Roger:

He has three separate ordinations from three different denominations and is a summa cum laude for his BA Degree in ministry and leadership, as well as a master's degree of theological studies and has his doctorate of Strategic Christian Ministry.

Roger:

He has a weird sense of humor and talks a lot.

Roger:

If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?

Roger:

No, I don't think so.

Roger:

And those big ears really don't help him.

Roger:

But would they enjoy his perspective on life, culture, politics, food, sports, local and national news?

Roger:

I don't know.

Roger:

I guess people will have to listen to find out.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

You should see Gabriel because he's just running everything.

David Spoon:

He has to run to this thing.

David Spoon:

Run to this thing.

David Spoon:

It's great to see it because.

David Spoon:

Because I just love that the Lord's bringing him in this way.

David Spoon:

Somebody ready to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Yes, they are.

David Spoon:

So we're going to have them come forward.

David Spoon:

Send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

J.D.:

Hello, Dr.

J.D.:

Spade, this is Deborah.

David Spoon:

Hi, Deborah.

David Spoon:

Take two aspirin and call me in the morning Anyway, all right.

David Spoon:

I hope you're getting a kick out of the show today.

David Spoon:

This is a fun one today.

David Spoon:

All right, you ready?

David Spoon:

This a good one.

David Spoon:

Which of David's wives was described as very beautiful to look upon?

J.D.:

I believe it was Bathsheba.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

You are right.

David Spoon:

Second Samuel, chapter 11, verse 2.

David Spoon:

That's exactly what it says.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, by the way.

David Spoon:

How you doing, Deborah?

David Spoon:

How are things going for you?

Deborah:

I'm good, thank you.

Deborah:

I'm doing a lot better and, you know, things are going well.

David Spoon:

Good, I'm glad to hear that.

David Spoon:

I want everybody to keep praying for Deborah.

David Spoon:

Don't stop praying for the audience.

David Spoon:

One of the things I came up with today when I was praying is everybody should be praying that the Lord would just help one another.

David Spoon:

Help the people.

David Spoon:

Help the people.

David Spoon:

Help the people.

Deborah:

I do pray that, and I do pray for the audience all the time.

David Spoon:

So I love it.

David Spoon:

And I love that you do that, and I love that you call in.

David Spoon:

And like I said, you are the best guesser we have ever had.

David Spoon:

So excellent job.

David Spoon:

You know, I always thought it was.

J.D.:

Funny that David saw her bathing and her name was Bath Sheba.

David Spoon:

I always thought that was funny.

David Spoon:

That's so funny.

David Spoon:

I didn't even catch that.

David Spoon:

That's funny.

David Spoon:

He saw her bathing.

David Spoon:

Her name is Bathsheba.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

I'm using that.

David Spoon:

Y'all have a good day.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Thanks.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where Eric gets the first award as the ping pong champion.

David Spoon:

The pink ping pong champion.

David Spoon:

Because we forgot to give you the trivia answer from the last question, and both Jacob and I forgot it.

David Spoon:

So we didn't throw the ping ping pong ball.

David Spoon:

So now Eric is right now the pink ping pong ball champion.

David Spoon:

And he even said, don't make me come down there.

David Spoon:

So the answer to the prior trivia question.

David Spoon:

Sorry, folks, I missed on that one.

David Spoon:

Which two of the other disciples did Jesus take with Peter up to the mountain when he was transfigured before them?

David Spoon:

Matthew 17, 1 2.

David Spoon:

And the answer is James and John.

David Spoon:

James and John.

David Spoon:

So we're going to give Eric the props on that one.

David Spoon:

He is the current sheriff of the pink ping pong Balls.

David Spoon:

And I've told you guys, one day, I'll tell you the joke.

David Spoon:

I actually told it once on this, on this show, the pink ping pong balls.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Anyway, here's your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

We're still in it.

David Spoon:

This is also about Peter.

David Spoon:

Remember I said they're all about Peter.

David Spoon:

Remember?

David Spoon:

Our first question in the opening of the show is if you could ask the apostle Peter one question, what would it be?

David Spoon:

Here's your next Trivia question.

David Spoon:

Matthew 4, 18.

David Spoon:

According to Matthew 4, 18, what was Peter doing when Jesus first saw him?

David Spoon:

According to Matthew 418, what was Jesus doing?

David Spoon:

Or what was Peter doing when Jesus first saw him?

David Spoon:

I'll get it right.

David Spoon:

It takes time.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

That's:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

David must increase.org right.

David Spoon:

What was Peter doing when Jesus first saw him?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 4, verse 18.

David Spoon:

A couple things I do want to make sure you know, I have already asked you to pray for us, for me, for wisdom.

David Spoon:

So I could definitely use wisdom.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

And on this answer, I'm going to give a little leeway because there are a couple of different translations, the way they say it.

David Spoon:

So don't freak out about that.

David Spoon:

Everybody relax.

David Spoon:

And then if the Lord allows us to get into this specific message, we will.

David Spoon:

And if the Lord redirects us, we'll go somewhere else.

David Spoon:

And here's the thing that I want to make sure everybody knows.

David Spoon:

And I was talking to Don about this yesterday.

David Spoon:

So Don and I were discussing it and I said, you know, I get prepared for the show, but then sometimes the Lord goes, it takes it somewhere else.

David Spoon:

And he goes, but you're prepared, right?

David Spoon:

And he goes.

David Spoon:

And I'm like, yeah, I'm always, like, prepared.

David Spoon:

I'm way, way, way prepared.

David Spoon:

And he's like, yeah.

David Spoon:

But he goes, that's the best part about it.

David Spoon:

And he's right.

David Spoon:

As the owner and as somebody who understands it, we don't always know what's going to happen.

David Spoon:

Hey, guess what?

David Spoon:

You don't always know what's going to happen.

David Spoon:

But if you're connected to God and you're walking in fellowship with God, you don't have to know everything that's going to happen.

David Spoon:

You just have to know him who knows everything.

David Spoon:

That's going to happen.

David Spoon:

So instead of trying to be perfect or this or that, whatever, just listen, just be sensitive and consider others more often than you consider yourself.

David Spoon:

And if you can't do that, you're missing a kind of a basic lesson in the whole faith.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

What was Peter doing when Jesus first saw him?

David Spoon:

That's the question.

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Davidmussincrease.org we do have somebody on the line.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Hi.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Hi, Dr.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

David.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

This is Joyenne and Cordelia sitting with me in the car, downtown Dallas.

David Spoon:

Oh, hi, Gail.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Great, thank you.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

And I think I know what you're fishing for in regard to Peter.

David Spoon:

Oh, is that so good or what?

David Spoon:

That is just.

David Spoon:

Okay, I give you a gold star for that one.

David Spoon:

That is brilliant.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

How about a golf clap?

David Spoon:

Yeah, Wait, a golf clap.

David Spoon:

Hold on, hold on.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

There's your golf clap.

David Spoon:

You get that.

David Spoon:

So if you guys didn't hear, she said, I think I know what you're fishing for.

David Spoon:

So you could have said that Peter was fishing, casting nets into the lake, mending the nets, whatever that would have been.

David Spoon:

That's what was going on.

David Spoon:

And that was a brilliant, brilliant answer.

David Spoon:

So you get mega props for that, Peter.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

And Peter became a fisher of men.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

And that's what we want to be, fishers of men.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Exactly right.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

We have so many things to be grateful for.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

But we have a prayer request.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Dr.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

David, we are down here getting ready to go to the tax office.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

So yeah, a couple of things we.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

I got a citation.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

I'm a new landlady, you know, in recent months, and I got a citation for the that some weeds and a mowing issue which I hopped on and got taken care of at my tenant's place.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

And so I took pictures and looked so pretty, but I didn't get much notice from the city.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

It's like, wow, this is a big bill.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

And I didn't even get a much of advance notice, so I'm not making excuses.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

But would you pray that we get just the right agent and that they will, you know, delete that charge?

David Spoon:

Yeah, let's pray.

David Spoon:

Let's just pray and ask the Lord to help in this.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Okay, thank you, Father.

David Spoon:

We come before you right now, we lift up Joanne And Cordelia and Lord, they're not trying to escape responsibility.

David Spoon:

That's not what's taking place.

David Spoon:

And you know that.

David Spoon:

You know exactly what their hearts are.

David Spoon:

And if they were able to do it and knew what was going on, they would have taken care of it.

David Spoon:

So we're asking you because you make it clear in the word, Jesus, you are our advocate and an advocate is a defense attorney.

David Spoon:

And so we are asking Jesus you to be their advocate.

David Spoon:

There is just nothing better.

David Spoon:

There's no one better.

David Spoon:

There's nowhere better to go, nothing else.

David Spoon:

If you're their advocate, okay, then what takes place is perfect in the hands of the King.

David Spoon:

And so we're asking Lord God, yes, they didn't know.

David Spoon:

They were learning.

David Spoon:

They're growing in that, fine, we get it.

David Spoon:

We don't even have a problem with it.

David Spoon:

We understand it.

David Spoon:

But grace and mercy are also important.

David Spoon:

And we're asking for advocacy because Jesus, you are at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.

David Spoon:

So take that position.

David Spoon:

Defend them, be with them.

David Spoon:

Let there be mercy in the room.

David Spoon:

Let there be wisdom in the room.

David Spoon:

Let there be grace.

David Spoon:

And let them be led to the right person.

David Spoon:

And let the resolution be simple, easy and over.

David Spoon:

We're just asking for simple, easy and over.

David Spoon:

We ask you to bless them and bless the rest of their day.

David Spoon:

Keep them safe as they're traveling and the stuff that they have to do.

David Spoon:

And give them plenty of energy and plenty of your presence.

David Spoon:

We just ask in Jesus name, Amen and amen.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Amen.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

We love and receive that.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

We'll keep you posted.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Dr.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

David, thank you so much.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Y'all are such a blessing.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

We'll talk soon.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Appreciate you.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Thank you.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Bless you all.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Bye bye, bye, bye.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Thank you.

Joyenne and Cordelia:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

All right, wonderful call Joanne and Cordelia.

David Spoon:

Wonderful, wonderful sisters in the Lord.

David Spoon:

We love them.

David Spoon:

We're gonna take our break and then come back and see where the Lord leadeth us.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spirit Moon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

Let me give you an update on Easton Scott.

David Spoon:

A lot of tough stuff that my daughter and my son in law have been going through.

David Spoon:

I did send an email out.

David Spoon:

I don't know if Julie, if you got the email or not.

David Spoon:

I did send it out to everybody.

David Spoon:

So he was going through 20 and 30 seizures per episode and they've got that down to a dramatically less amount.

David Spoon:

But the sad news is that from A medical point of view, Easton does not, it does not appear as, according to the doctors, that he will be able to speak or will be able to care for himself.

David Spoon:

And so what the result of that is is that Julianne and Jared, my son in law and my daughter have recognized that God has put them in a position to be the best parents, to love Easton Scott with all that they can and give them the best life that they can.

David Spoon:

But while that's going on, they're not going to stop believing that something can change.

David Spoon:

And the doctors even said this is territory we don't even know.

J.D.:

Right.

David Spoon:

Because this is a problem that not very many people have had.

David Spoon:

So very few.

David Spoon:

Everybody is different.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

And they have like 230 total cases in the world that they have records on, which is like, so they're like, we don't know.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

And it's like, so I just want to read this one thing my daughter wrote.

David Spoon:

It's a fantastic.

David Spoon:

She wrote, she wrote this.

David Spoon:

You know, it's not easy to sit there and write a Facebook post that tells all the things you've been going through.

David Spoon:

And so I'm not going to read everything, but I'm going to read the last paragraph because I thought that was really significant.

David Spoon:

She wrote, scientifically, Easton does not have much of a chance.

David Spoon:

His best case scenario is he may possibly be able to walk and say three to five words one day.

David Spoon:

But God can help him.

David Spoon:

He's not afraid of impossible odds.

David Spoon:

And if Easton is healed one day, there will be no question as to where it comes from.

David Spoon:

It will not be because of therapy.

David Spoon:

It will not be because of medication or diet.

David Spoon:

It will be because of God's undeniable healing power.

David Spoon:

So in the meantime, we choose to raise a hallelujah and trust in God, ladies and gentlemen, that is faith.

David Spoon:

Now the idea that it's going to be simple and everything's going to be great and they're trying to make pie in the sky that doesn't exist at all.

David Spoon:

If you read this, and I think wonder Julia can attest it, she tells you this is ugly.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

This is not a good situation.

David Spoon:

It's going to change our lives.

David Spoon:

He's never going to be able to be unattended.

David Spoon:

It doesn't look good.

David Spoon:

And you know, as a parent, you're heartbroken.

David Spoon:

They have two other children.

David Spoon:

They don't want to have any loss in their communication with their kids.

David Spoon:

But they're going to have to give extra attention.

David Spoon:

They were going to have a fourth child.

David Spoon:

They're not sure they're going to do that now.

David Spoon:

So you got a lot of things in play.

David Spoon:

But what you can't deny is that I won't take credit, but I'll stand in there as a grandparent and as a parent and say what a fantastic position of faith that my daughter has grown into.

David Spoon:

She has made the determination that she will do the best that she can as a human being to give this child the best life she can.

David Spoon:

And she will not quit hoping.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KAAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where it somewhat appears as though the Lord is redirecting the show.

David Spoon:

So we'll just go with the flow.

David Spoon:

Here's your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Now, this is a great question and I want you to listen.

David Spoon:

I want you to.

David Spoon:

Okay, Dave's telling us we got to listen to trivia question.

David Spoon:

Can't just be, you know, playing around.

David Spoon:

No, throwing darts.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

How did Peter ask the Lord to confirm that it was him who had appeared to them during the middle of the storm?

David Spoon:

In other words, Peter asked Jesus if he could do something to prove that it was actually Jesus.

David Spoon:

What did Peter ask him?

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

So for anybody who says, well, you can't ever ask that, well, Peter did.

David Spoon:

All right, so anyway, what did he ask him?

David Spoon:

He asked him a question.

David Spoon:

What did he say to confirm that it was in fact Jesus?

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

On the website are there's a couple of interesting videos, newer videos, plus, plus a place to put a praise report and a prayer request.

David Spoon:

Nobody gets that information but me and the people that pray.

David Spoon:

Additionally, there is:

David Spoon:

There's:

David Spoon:

Plus there's books up there.

David Spoon:

And if you can't Afford it, you tell us, and we will buy it for you and send it to you free.

David Spoon:

No if, ands, or buts.

David Spoon:

Additionally, there's a place to give because the ministry functions off of donations.

David Spoon:

It's how we exist.

David Spoon:

That's how it goes.

David Spoon:

So we will reference it.

David Spoon:

If you can't give, please pray.

David Spoon:

I'm not asking you to spend 40 hours.

David Spoon:

I'm asking you to mention us before the Lord.

David Spoon:

I think that's reasonable.

David Spoon:

But if you can give, and you want to, and your heart, you're there for it.

David Spoon:

Luke 6.

David Spoon:

38.

David Spoon:

Give, and it will be given to you.

David Spoon:

Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.

David Spoon:

For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

David Spoon:

Very cool.

David Spoon:

Check it out on the website.

David Spoon:

Hemusincrease.org prayer request.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org praise report.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

He must increase.

David Spoon:

Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org Sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes.

David Spoon:

Sometimes you don't enjoy that much.

David Spoon:

Mounds don't.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I love those commercials.

David Spoon:

All right, we do have somebody ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Deborah:

I'm full of Almond Joy.

David Spoon:

Brother Roger again.

David Spoon:

How are you, brother?

David Spoon:

Full of homage to it.

Deborah:

I'm a nut and don't know it.

David Spoon:

So good.

David Spoon:

Oh, my brother.

David Spoon:

My brother.

David Spoon:

All right, now let me set you up on the trivia question, and then you can tell us how things are going.

David Spoon:

All right, but let's get the trivia question done.

David Spoon:

This is a good one.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Right, okay.

David Spoon:

How did Peter ask the Lord to confirm that it was in fact Jesus who had appeared to them in the midst of the storm?

David Spoon:

What did Peter ask Jesus?

David Spoon:

I said, well, do this.

David Spoon:

What did he ask him to prove it was Jesus?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 14, verse 28.

Deborah:

Command me to come to you on the water.

David Spoon:

That is 100% correct.

David Spoon:

If I know, that's a great trivia question, too.

David Spoon:

It's like, ooh, that's a good one right there.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, Roger again.

David Spoon:

Excellent, excellent, excellent.

David Spoon:

How are things, brother?

Deborah:

Well, everything's looking like Jesus is coming back again, that's for sure.

David Spoon:

That is a.

David Spoon:

That is a massive understatement.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to say that right now.

David Spoon:

That is absolutely true.

David Spoon:

You are correct.

David Spoon:

And that's good news.

Deborah:

Right?

Deborah:

I'm not.

Deborah:

And I'm gonna give you what Day.

Deborah:

I'm gonna give you something.

Deborah:

What?

Deborah:

They don't end in life.

David Spoon:

Wait, say that again.

Deborah:

What day does not end in why?

David Spoon:

What day does not end in why?

David Spoon:

What day?

Deborah:

Tomorrow.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Good dads.

David Spoon:

Very good.

David Spoon:

Very, very good.

David Spoon:

Sad.

David Spoon:

Very good.

Deborah:

But tomorrow never comes.

David Spoon:

Ah, that's another good one.

David Spoon:

That's good.

David Spoon:

You're on a roll.

David Spoon:

That's a good one.

David Spoon:

Those are good ones.

David Spoon:

Good ones, Good ones.

David Spoon:

How is the family?

David Spoon:

How are you?

David Spoon:

And how is your wife?

David Spoon:

How are you guys doing?

Deborah:

Well, some good news and, you know, but they still.

Deborah:

Some of her tumor is drinking.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Deborah:

And.

Deborah:

But they still claim that she's gonna have to do the surgery for breast removal.

Deborah:

But that's not until January 13th.

Deborah:

And.

Deborah:

Well, God can do something in between all them days.

David Spoon:

Oh, my goodness.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

That's.

David Spoon:

I mean, if you think about that, that' two just under two months.

David Spoon:

And look what.

David Spoon:

Look what the Lord did in six days.

Deborah:

Right.

Deborah:

And it is shrinking.

David Spoon:

Yeah, Right.

Deborah:

We're going to believe that it can be cleared up all the way without surgery.

Deborah:

But if it were, we have a plan and we're going to stick with a plan.

Deborah:

Unless God intervenes some other ways.

David Spoon:

Yep.

Deborah:

He can do what he wants to do.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

I want to pray for you and her before we hang up.

David Spoon:

But that's exactly right.

David Spoon:

God can change.

David Spoon:

Bringing the kingdom of God into a situation changes the situation, Period.

David Spoon:

There's nothing else anybody could say.

David Spoon:

Because when the kingdom of God enters, changes lives.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray for you in a little bit.

David Spoon:

How else are you doing?

David Spoon:

I mean, you always have a wise word.

David Spoon:

Well, let's just say you always have a word that turns out wise.

Deborah:

Anyway, this has to do with tomorrow.

David Spoon:

Okay, good.

Deborah:

Nobody knows what tomorrow is going to bring.

Deborah:

But I'm ready for tomorrow.

David Spoon:

And how are you ready for tomorrow?

Deborah:

Because I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

And so with him we can face tomorrow because he lives.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

Deborah:

Because he lives.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Because he lives.

David Spoon:

We can handle it.

David Spoon:

That's exactly right, brother.

David Spoon:

That's exactly right.

David Spoon:

Let me pray over you and your wife.

David Spoon:

Can I do that?

Deborah:

Go ahead.

David Spoon:

All right, Father, I come before you right now.

David Spoon:

I lift up Roger, our brother and his wife, to you and Lord, you know exactly what's going on.

David Spoon:

Nobody needs to infinite inform you.

David Spoon:

We're not here to give you the information.

David Spoon:

We're here to petition you and to ask you to reach into her body and eliminate the struggle, the cancer, the dark element.

David Spoon:

That's in her even before she gets to surgery.

David Spoon:

We ask you to shrink it so much they're mystified.

David Spoon:

We're asking you to bring your kingdom into her, her body, not.

David Spoon:

Not for anything other than praise unto you and a blessing unto our brother Roger and his wife.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

That's what we're looking for, that you bless them and you give them a great sense of confidence, comfort, stability, strength.

David Spoon:

And he said it so well.

David Spoon:

Lord, we can do all of this and face tomorrow because of you.

David Spoon:

And we just ask you to bless them with the presence, your presence, and with the peace that we talk about often, Lord, but it's in your word, the peace that passes.

David Spoon:

All understanding just passes.

David Spoon:

It goes right by it.

David Spoon:

Jesus, you're the prince of peace.

David Spoon:

Pour your prince position upon their family.

David Spoon:

We ask you to bless them in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen and Amen.

Deborah:

Every day you open your eyes, you are looking at a miracle.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Amen, brother.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Great job.

David Spoon:

Very, very great call.

David Spoon:

Love, love, love you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

We'll keep praying for you.

David Spoon:

You keep us posted.

David Spoon:

Okay?

Deborah:

Yeah, I.

Deborah:

We've been doing a lot of appointment, so I haven't been able to get to the radio as much as possible.

Deborah:

I've been trying to figure out how to do it with the Google app or whatever because it.

Deborah:

Deborah:

If you Google it, you know, you can Google it live.

Deborah:

But I'm.

Deborah:

I'm not quite tech savvy enough to get all that done yet, but I'll figure it out.

David Spoon:

I want to tell you to Google it, but then that just really defeats the whole purpose of that discussion.

David Spoon:

So I'm just going to say that's too good.

David Spoon:

I love you, brother.

David Spoon:

Love you and the Lord.

Deborah:

All right, thank you and God bless you, David.

Deborah:

And God will give your audience a great surprise of finances so they can help you out in the.

Deborah:

In their special way.

Deborah:

In Jesus name, Amen.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

In Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen, brother.

Deborah:

God bless.

Deborah:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Excellent call from Roger again.

David Spoon:

For those that are going, why is he called Roger again?

David Spoon:

It's very simple because we had one Roger call and then Roger called again and then he said, okay, it's Roger again.

David Spoon:

And that was like four years ago.

David Spoon:

And so his name is Roger again, like for four years.

David Spoon:

I didn't say we were brilliant, I said we're goofy.

David Spoon:

Don't forget Eva.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

We're not going to break anymore, so let me just get through this.

David Spoon:

Don't forget Eva.

David Spoon:

What's Eva?

David Spoon:

Every victory Acknowledged.

David Spoon:

How many?

David Spoon:

Every.

David Spoon:

How do you acknowledge it?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

You just got to acknowledge it in some capacity.

David Spoon:

Everything the Lord does, everything that happens in your life, every moment that you know is a kingdom, moment, every victory acknowledged.

David Spoon:

Get that?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Romans 8:37.

David Spoon:

Knowing all these things, we are more than victorious, more than conquerors through him who loved us.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

We'll do a very fast history, and then we'll do our last teaching.

David Spoon:

Let's do history.

David Spoon:

Let's go live.

David Spoon:

Faith in the past.

David Spoon:

Let's go now.

David Spoon:

I actually put this in here.

David Spoon:

I'm not even kidding.

David Spoon:

I can just show it to you so you can see.

David Spoon:

It's.

David Spoon:

There's asterisks.

David Spoon:

I want Jacob to see it.

David Spoon:

Do you see these two little red asterisks on the paper?

David Spoon:

Can you see them at all?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Okay, I put this in here.

David Spoon:

And it's really funny because Roger said something, and I just want to say this.

David Spoon:

Today is the day.

David Spoon:

I made this holiday up when I was doing radio earlier.

David Spoon:

It's Jesus is coming back sooner than you think day.

David Spoon:

Don't you love that?

David Spoon:

And that's what Roger said.

David Spoon:

He's coming back sooner than you think.

David Spoon:

It's like, that's the day.

David Spoon:

,:

David Spoon:

Jesus is coming back sooner than you think day.

David Spoon:

That's great.

David Spoon:

All right, here's a couple other things.

David Spoon:

When did you decide to make that a day?

David Spoon:

I did that, like, four or five years ago.

David Spoon:

I just made it.

David Spoon:

Made it my own holiday, but I haven't used it for a while, so I thought that's why I pulled it back out and put it in there.

David Spoon:

And then he just said that, and I'm like, that's perfect.

David Spoon:

I love stuff like that.

David Spoon:

All right, let me just tell you two really three really important things.

David Spoon:

The last one is one that Jacob and I are just going to cry over.

David Spoon:

Number one,:

David Spoon:

On this day, McDonald's makes its 500 billionth hamburger.

David Spoon:

So I just want to say this about that.

David Spoon:

How do they really know?

David Spoon:

Do you know how hard it is to count 1,000, let alone 10,000, let alone 100,000, let alone a million?

David Spoon:

Do you think they got every number right out of 50 billion?

David Spoon:

Okay, sure.

David Spoon:

It was probably around that number.

David Spoon:

So they decided, oh, let's go ahead and say we'll just leave it there.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

And then the only other thing I want to say, because this is beautiful, is today.

David Spoon:

And that's for me probably more than you.

David Spoon:

But today is National Peanut Butter Fudge Day.

David Spoon:

And it's like Peanut Butter Fudge Day all day long.

David Spoon:

That is a weakness.

David Spoon:

If he had broken instead of donuts.

David Spoon:

If he had brought peanut butter fudge yesterday, Don, I'd have broke.

David Spoon:

That's all I'm saying.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Let me do the rest of this teaching.

David Spoon:

This is.

David Spoon:

People are going, what kind of show do you guys do?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

I have no idea.

David Spoon:

I want you to hear the title of this.

David Spoon:

We're not obviously doing what we were going to do, even though that's the title of this.

David Spoon:

DDD okay.

David Spoon:

So we're going to stop on everything else, even though.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

This is Nehemiah 9, 27.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry, 28 and 29.

David Spoon:

So Nehemiah 9, 28, 29.

David Spoon:

But as soon as they had relief, they again did what was evil in your sight.

David Spoon:

So you abandoned them to the power of their enemies who dominated them.

David Spoon:

When they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven and rescued them many times in your compassion.

David Spoon:

You warned them to turn back to your law, but they acted arrogantly and would not obey your commandments.

David Spoon:

This is Nehemiah.

David Spoon:

What an indictment.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

But listen to the compassion and the grace of God.

David Spoon:

And you and I, we're looking at the Old Testament.

David Spoon:

We see the manifestation of the compassion of God in the very life of Jesus Christ, sacrificing himself for our sins, for our penalties, for our wrongdoing, and not one of us knew who he was.

David Spoon:

And look at this.

David Spoon:

You see the compassion of God.

David Spoon:

It's not brand new.

David Spoon:

In the New Testament, you see him leading up to the fullness of the expression of his compassion in Jesus.

David Spoon:

Let me say that again.

David Spoon:

You see through the Old Testament to the New Testament, God leading up for the fullness of his expression of his compassion.

David Spoon:

But look what happens with Israel.

David Spoon:

As soon as they had relief, they did what was evil in your sight again.

David Spoon:

So you abandoned them to the power of their enemies who dominated them.

David Spoon:

But when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven and rescued them many times in your compassion.

David Spoon:

So we'll do something just as practical Christians.

David Spoon:

We'll do something dumb.

David Spoon:

Just admit it.

David Spoon:

It's easier to eat the pie than to resist that.

David Spoon:

And we do evil in the Lord's sight, and we call upon the Lord.

David Spoon:

And the Lord always responds, and he rescues us.

David Spoon:

Wait, wait, wait.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure you understand this.

David Spoon:

I don't want you to miss this huge theological phrase.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

He rescues us many Times.

David Spoon:

And he rescues us many times in his compassion.

David Spoon:

Here's the thing.

David Spoon:

God doesn't owe it.

David Spoon:

And I just.

David Spoon:

Absolutely.

David Spoon:

It's one of those things where if it gets into a theological discussion, I lose my mind.

David Spoon:

God doesn't owe it, he gives it.

David Spoon:

He rescues you and I many times.

David Spoon:

From what many things.

David Spoon:

He rescues us all the time.

David Spoon:

In fact, he rescues us in things we don't even know.

David Spoon:

And he doesn't rescue you because you are really good or you've done really well, or you've earned it, or you deserve.

David Spoon:

He rescues you.

David Spoon:

And he rescues me on a daily basis.

David Spoon:

I think in his compassion, he looks and he knows.

David Spoon:

He knows every nuance.

David Spoon:

In fact, in Jeremiah:

David Spoon:

And yet in his compassion, he still rescues us.

David Spoon:

And how often?

David Spoon:

Many times.

David Spoon:

That's how phenomenal he is to us.

David Spoon:

And then he says this, and it's very interesting in 29, because you really get the sense that Nehemiah is telling them what to do to have less failure.

David Spoon:

I just think that's the way to say it.

David Spoon:

It's like, this is what you do.

David Spoon:

Don't do it as often as you're doing it.

David Spoon:

It says you warned them to turn back to your law, but they acted arrogantly and would not obey your commandments.

David Spoon:

We need to turn to the truth and obey the truth.

David Spoon:

I'm telling you right now.

David Spoon:

You think it's a joke?

David Spoon:

The Holy Spirit used mankind to write that book.

David Spoon:

And I know what they say, I'm aware of their mocking.

David Spoon:

But God created the universe and the dude can write a book.

David Spoon:

And we need to turn to the truth.

David Spoon:

And in that truth we have an enablement, a strengthening and empowering to do it better.

David Spoon:

And even if we fail, God will rescue us many times because of his compassion.

David Spoon:

Not because we earned it or we deserve it, but because he chooses to operate with us in his compassion.

David Spoon:

You know what we really should do more than anything?

David Spoon:

Of course we should turn to the Word and we should use God's truth.

David Spoon:

But here's the big thing we should do.

David Spoon:

We should say thank you more often because of all the things that are going on.

David Spoon:

The Lord always grants us grace and mercy, and we'll never deserve it or earn it, but we can respond to it by saying thank you.

David Spoon:

Wouldn't that be a brilliant idea?

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

It's kind of like the every victory acknowledged mentality, right?

David Spoon:

Being thankful.

David Spoon:

What is it?

David Spoon:

1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything, give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

David Spoon:

Ooh.

David Spoon:

That'll just take care of that.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

22 and a half hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back, More insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you then.

David Spoon:

The views expressed on the preceding program were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
