We all know the importance of looking after our wellbeing, yet there is a marked difference between knowing about it and actually doing it. It took a breakdown for this weeks’ guest to learn that lesson and she bares all with us in this conversation.
Rachel was a full-time language teacher for 15 years, but in 2009, following a difficult separation from her first husband, she found herself struggling with depression and isolation from her daughters. Returning to full-time work did not seem an option and so Rachel began searching for a home-based business that was flexible and allowed time for healing and personal growth.
Between 2013-2018 Rachel started 2 new businesses and met new husband Dean. In 2018, Rachel and Dean purchased their 2000 sqm block and relocated a 1920’s Federation home to commence a new venture: Collector Cottage, a microflower farm and couples retreat B&B at their property in Collector NSW, just 30 mins north of Canberra and she has not looked back since.
In this episode Rachel shares the raw realities of reaching breaking point and what it took to turn her life and her business around.
