Shownotes

On this episode of Mindful You, Alan Carroll interviews Donna Fairhurst. Donna’s journey began when she was born legally blind and she saw everybody’s aura’s. Through quite a few near death experiences Donna has learned to hone in on her gifts and has transformed into a Life/Soul Coach, Reiki Master and Psychic Medium (just to name a few). Carroll and Fairhurst discuss the Calm Principle, where one nurtures peace and harmony within oneself to find value and soulful solutions in life. Donna believe there is no such thing as failure. We need to rethink the conventional notion of failure and discover it’s hidden opportunities. Life is all about forgiveness and we need to practice the art of letting go so that we can move beyond judgement towards greater acceptance and compassion in life.

Alan Carroll:

Welcome to the mindful you podcast. I'm Alan

Alan Carroll:

Carroll. And I'm your host. And today, we have a guest who has

Alan Carroll:

traveled from the physical to the metaphysical, metaphysical

Alan Carroll:

being spiritual, and has traveled back and forth four

Alan Carroll:

times. And she describes the travels as near death

Alan Carroll:

experiences. So what's it like when you actually have moved

Alan Carroll:

over to that place of, of death, and then to be able to come back

Alan Carroll:

again, into the, into the physical, and describe what that

Alan Carroll:

experience was like. And Donna has wonderful experiences of

Alan Carroll:

that love, and that compassion, that oneness feeling that is

Alan Carroll:

there in that space beyond the physical. So I'm excited to be

Alan Carroll:

able to have her today share with you, what she has learned,

Alan Carroll:

and what she has experienced on these travels back and forth

Alan Carroll:

into that spiritual domain of consciousness. Donna, welcome.

Alan Carroll:

Welcome to the mindful you. Podcast.

Donna Fairhurst:

I know, I don't believe it, I know I've

Donna Fairhurst:

experienced it, we are all a part of the field of infinite

Donna Fairhurst:

unity. And that infinite Unity, Unity is God Creator Source,

Donna Fairhurst:

whatever that is for you, in your space, and that we are here

Donna Fairhurst:

and there to make a difference with our energy, we are one

Donna Fairhurst:

thread in the blanket of infinite unity.

Alan Carroll:

Hmm. That's a I've heard it expressed many ways.

Alan Carroll:

And that's a very beautiful way. Beautiful way to express it.

Alan Carroll:

Thank you the idea of the eyes listening now, Alan Watts and

Alan Carroll:

Alan Watts, just talking about the self and other. And he says

Alan Carroll:

the illusion is you got the self over here, which is me. And we

Alan Carroll:

got the other, which is you. And it appears to be separate. And

Alan Carroll:

he says, Well imagine a magnet has a polar opposite have that

Alan Carroll:

have the positive, the negative, they're both the same magnet,

Alan Carroll:

and they're both needed to balance out. So you need the

Alan Carroll:

other for you and you need you for the other. But it's all one

Alan Carroll:

magnets, all one field of awareness. And you have that

Alan Carroll:

realization, which to me means you've been on a journey. And I

Alan Carroll:

see the books. And so you've you've taken your journey, and

Alan Carroll:

you have shared it with the world. So we have a few minutes

Alan Carroll:

with my audience to be able to share a little bit of your

Alan Carroll:

journey, which created the breakthroughs for you to have

Alan Carroll:

the realizations in order to be able to articulate the way you

Alan Carroll:

articulated what love what's a little bit of your, your your

Alan Carroll:

journey, which ignited the flame of your passion.

Donna Fairhurst:

Well, I was born technically legally blind

Donna Fairhurst:

shortly, one year after that I contracted polio in the epidemic

Donna Fairhurst:

of 1952. So I survived blindness and polio. And then was really

Donna Fairhurst:

connected to spirit during that time, even from you know,

Donna Fairhurst:

infancy through to toddlerhood and to the nursery school child

Donna Fairhurst:

and when I started to speak a lot because I was very

Donna Fairhurst:

introverted child by virtue of my experiments experience. I was

Donna Fairhurst:

talking about angels and and the father mother, and and telling

Donna Fairhurst:

my mum and dad, I have another Mum and Dad, and they're over

Donna Fairhurst:

there. And that at the end, of course, it was very

Donna Fairhurst:

disconcerting for my parents. I thought I was a bit a bit too

Donna Fairhurst:

lolly. But they let me reel with it until I got to school and

Donna Fairhurst:

then they said this is going to cause too much trouble. You'd

Donna Fairhurst:

have to stop this nonsense. And I still would still come out in

Donna Fairhurst:

barn voluntarily. And then when I was 12 my mother took me to a

Donna Fairhurst:

psychologist hypnotherapist to have me hypnotized to remove my

Donna Fairhurst:

dreams is what she called them. Sure it didn't work. couldn't

Donna Fairhurst:

work. Get rid of the demons.

Alan Carroll:

Yes, it couldn't work. So I just recessed young

Alan Carroll:

lady, your present. Sort of Yeah, I just

Donna Fairhurst:

went undercover and went into the closet and

Donna Fairhurst:

excuse me, I'm just recovering from COVID. So I went into the

Donna Fairhurst:

closet and I really didn't come out. Very often. I would take a

Donna Fairhurst:

peek here and there and I had also cancer and two divorces and

Donna Fairhurst:

I had bankruptcy from a business and through 911 No fault of my

Donna Fairhurst:

own, and just had challenge after challenge. that grew me

Donna Fairhurst:

and grew me I died four times and came back to tell about it.

Donna Fairhurst:

And I teach from it now and live from it now and it's the fiber

Donna Fairhurst:

of my infinite being.

Alan Carroll:

So you've had a near death experience for that I

Alan Carroll:

can remember, lords trying to tell you something on it. Well,

Alan Carroll:

I'm

Donna Fairhurst:

writing these are these are compilation books

Donna Fairhurst:

that I contributed to I set a my outrageous goal for 2022, which

Donna Fairhurst:

I set on December 31. It's taped up on my desk here was the first

Donna Fairhurst:

goal was I will become an inspirational best selling

Donna Fairhurst:

author in 2020 to four days later, a woman with the same

Donna Fairhurst:

surname as me that we are no relation called me and said,

Donna Fairhurst:

I've heard a lot about you. Would you like to write a

Donna Fairhurst:

chapter for our compilation book? And I said, What will it

Donna Fairhurst:

cost? You said, zero, I'm fielding all the publishing

Donna Fairhurst:

costs, and every cent we make is going to breast cancer research.

Donna Fairhurst:

I said, I'm in Alright, anything that's very nice. In four

Donna Fairhurst:

months, I contributed to four best selling compilations. And

Donna Fairhurst:

I'm now writing my own book yo yo to God, which is my

Donna Fairhurst:

experience of being like a Yo yo, that he's kind of he she's

Donna Fairhurst:

kind of got me going up and down.

Alan Carroll:

The I've not had a near death experience, I have

Alan Carroll:

heard about near death experiences, where and so I'd

Alan Carroll:

like you to be able to describe it for the audience of what your

Alan Carroll:

experience was, that gave you that awareness that there's

Alan Carroll:

something beyond the body going on here.

Donna Fairhurst:

Each experience was unique in its own, and each

Donna Fairhurst:

one was longer and more intense than the previous one. In the

Donna Fairhurst:

first one I just went into, into the into light, I had no

Donna Fairhurst:

awareness that I had left my body or anything, I was just

Donna Fairhurst:

suddenly, in this space of of light. And in the space of

Donna Fairhurst:

light. It looked like the way I saw auras and colors because

Donna Fairhurst:

when I was experiencing their blindness, everybody was like a

Donna Fairhurst:

giant Christmas tree to me, I just saw their colors until they

Donna Fairhurst:

were very close to me. And then they would take shape and, and

Donna Fairhurst:

form but any buddy more than three feet away from me was just

Donna Fairhurst:

this kaleidoscope of color. We're talking auras, or it's

Donna Fairhurst:

yes,

Alan Carroll:

okay, so you are able to see the auras around

Alan Carroll:

you, you're able to see the energy field of the person in

Alan Carroll:

front of you.

Donna Fairhurst:

I've always been able to do that. It's been

Donna Fairhurst:

it's one of the things that I had to put in the closet,

Donna Fairhurst:

because I my parents didn't like me talking about everybody's

Donna Fairhurst:

colors. But I learned through that because that is the way

Donna Fairhurst:

that that I integrated the spaces I was in. So in my first

Donna Fairhurst:

near death experience, I just learned that all there is is

Donna Fairhurst:

love. That's it. On the other side there. They're hell in

Donna Fairhurst:

heaven. That's a human construction. The old boys wrote

Donna Fairhurst:

it in the book, and that's the way it is right over there. It's

Donna Fairhurst:

just love. There's no judgment. Everybody goes to heaven or not

Donna Fairhurst:

judgment is a human construction and a human condition. God has

Donna Fairhurst:

no judgment does not judge God he she it whatever it is for

Donna Fairhurst:

you, Creator Source. big spider in the sky, I've heard it

Donna Fairhurst:

described as many things for me, it is just the all consuming

Donna Fairhurst:

energy of love. And all that is the next experience led me to a

Donna Fairhurst:

deeper understanding of it, I was there a little bit longer.

Donna Fairhurst:

And I came back with one principle. And one principle

Donna Fairhurst:

only called the comprehensible and I took me 20 years to

Donna Fairhurst:

integrate that into my life and be living it for myself. And now

Donna Fairhurst:

it's the first principle I teach in my program, and the next

Donna Fairhurst:

experience, let's go

Alan Carroll:

over the comprehensible. What What do you

Alan Carroll:

mean by the calm principle?

Donna Fairhurst:

Well, essentially, as human beings we

Donna Fairhurst:

are our body is a bus that has an emotional and physical and

Donna Fairhurst:

mental connection to our spiritual soul which resides in

Donna Fairhurst:

our body. So our body is conceived. And then our soul

Donna Fairhurst:

joins our body. When our soul joins our body. That's when we

Donna Fairhurst:

have life. That's generally around the time that a mother

Donna Fairhurst:

would feel the first kick kind of thing. That's the soul making

Donna Fairhurst:

its presence known before that your dormant car waiting for

Donna Fairhurst:

your motor to be turned on. So the soul comes in starts taking

Donna Fairhurst:

over driving. You have the Mind Map heart emotional battle of

Donna Fairhurst:

who's in the driver's seat?

Alan Carroll:

Who's driving the show? Yeah, yeah, it's always

Donna Fairhurst:

the soul.

Alan Carroll:

But the ego thinks it's in charge.

Donna Fairhurst:

It does. So I take the mind map and the heart

Donna Fairhurst:

map and I bring it together to explain this space of sacred

Donna Fairhurst:

soul self and how love and grace, self and soul combine in

Donna Fairhurst:

that space. And from that is the comprehensible because as

Donna Fairhurst:

humans, we tend to have have the experience of being in a state

Donna Fairhurst:

of evaluation or judgment of people, places and situations.

Donna Fairhurst:

When we are in the mindmap. We are in chaos and incoherence,

Donna Fairhurst:

the mind doesn't know anything else, but chaos and incoherence,

Donna Fairhurst:

because it's always jumping from one thing to another. And the

Donna Fairhurst:

only job it has is to keep you safe. So when you step outside

Donna Fairhurst:

the box, and do think feel be anything that doesn't feel safe

Donna Fairhurst:

to the ego mind is going to shut you down and have you evaluating

Donna Fairhurst:

everything. And when you evaluate everything, you create

Donna Fairhurst:

more chaos and incoherence, you're in the mind map, it's not

Donna Fairhurst:

heart centered. To create common coherence, you have to find

Donna Fairhurst:

value in every person, place or situation good, bad or

Donna Fairhurst:

indifferent. There's a value there, because at some point,

Donna Fairhurst:

you made a choice to show up in this experience to learn from

Donna Fairhurst:

it. So if you show up to learn from it, then you move into

Donna Fairhurst:

chaos, common common coherence, and then you're finding value,

Donna Fairhurst:

you are creating soulful solutions, and the cycle

Donna Fairhurst:

repeats.

Alan Carroll:

I do, I do a demonstration. And I talk about

Alan Carroll:

the the opposite of calmness is agitation. I take a bottle and I

Alan Carroll:

shake up the glitter. I said when you get agitated, you're

Alan Carroll:

all agitated. But when you are able to take the breath, and

Alan Carroll:

you're able to breathe, all of a sudden, everything becomes calm

Alan Carroll:

and clear. And the challenge of it is is how do you how do you

Alan Carroll:

manage those thoughts, which is the is the mind map you're

Alan Carroll:

talking about, which is very chaotic. It's a it's a it's a

Alan Carroll:

mental storm going on inside your head, especially when you

Alan Carroll:

see something you don't like. Yeah, then then you get really

Alan Carroll:

upset. And that's that's affected your identity, some

Alan Carroll:

somebody has attacked your identity, which is your ego. But

Alan Carroll:

with that love place, love places like the sky, rather than

Alan Carroll:

the clouds, you identify with the sky, which is the Beingness.

Alan Carroll:

And all of a sudden, you see the thought, but the gravitational

Alan Carroll:

effect that the thought has on you. I make that decision.

Alan Carroll:

Myself.

Donna Fairhurst:

Yes, it's all a divine choice that you make. You

Donna Fairhurst:

know, and I have so many people talk about failure, failure. And

Donna Fairhurst:

forgiveness has been a big theme from tool for 2022. And there is

Donna Fairhurst:

no failure. Failure is simply a tool to challenge us to dig deep

Donna Fairhurst:

and rediscover our gifts and then apply them in our divine

Donna Fairhurst:

mission that we chose before we ever came in here.

Alan Carroll:

However, the problem with most folks is

Alan Carroll:

failure is looked upon as as bad as something to avoid, not to

Alan Carroll:

reveal. Keep it hidden, keep it secret, Keep it keep it in the

Alan Carroll:

closet. Because if I if I if you saw me and branded me as a

Alan Carroll:

failure, then you wouldn't want to be with me.

Donna Fairhurst:

Well, then, then you're totally in chaos and

Donna Fairhurst:

incoherence and not no close to calm because you're judging

Donna Fairhurst:

yourself or you're letting other people judge you and

Alan Carroll:

because you're judged. You bet, you bet and you

Alan Carroll:

and mindfulness is to be in the moment. And with no thought, and

Alan Carroll:

no thought a judgment is a thought. And so when you are not

Alan Carroll:

judging, I teach the course of miracles. And in the Course of

Alan Carroll:

Miracles, the 365 lessons very first lesson is whatever you see

Alan Carroll:

in your environment, your hands, your ideas, everything in your

Alan Carroll:

environment, has no meaning. What do you mean it has no

Alan Carroll:

meaning? It has no no judgment, there's no, there's no, there's

Alan Carroll:

no words you're going to use to describe good, bad, right?

Alan Carroll:

Wrong. It doesn't have any meaning and immediately the ego.

Alan Carroll:

Of course, it has a meaning cities, pictures of my family.

Alan Carroll:

And the second lesson is everything you see you add the

Alan Carroll:

meaning to so you paint the description in your mind. And

Alan Carroll:

most people don't realize that they don't realize that you

Alan Carroll:

paint the description of what you see, versus because then I

Alan Carroll:

can paint it differently. I can paint it exactly the way you

Alan Carroll:

were talking about that I am a I'm a force of the Lord and the

Alan Carroll:

force of the God God cannot do for me what God cannot do

Alan Carroll:

through me. So allows me to be loving and kind and

Alan Carroll:

compassionate and and that's the clear sky and not non

Alan Carroll:

judgmental, clarity and calm.

Donna Fairhurst:

That's what I experienced in my second near

Donna Fairhurst:

death experience. And shortly after that, I was really blessed

Donna Fairhurst:

to have somebody put Neale Donald Walsch, his conference

Donna Fairhurst:

first conversations with God book in my hand. And it was the

Donna Fairhurst:

first time in my life. I felt validated. Yeah, I felt that I

Donna Fairhurst:

know that Yes, yes, I am this Yes. And I actually have never

Donna Fairhurst:

written to a person before like that. And I sat down and wrote

Donna Fairhurst:

this long, long letter, and then I wasn't going to mail it. And I

Donna Fairhurst:

had it in my purse and I took it out and I was going to rip it up

Donna Fairhurst:

and throw it in the garbage. And one of the people working for me

Donna Fairhurst:

accidentally picked it up when I wasn't at my desk and put it in

Donna Fairhurst:

the mail. So it went. Seven days later, I'm in my little house in

Donna Fairhurst:

the cabin in the Rockies, and my phone rings and Hi, Donna. This

Donna Fairhurst:

is Neil. Neil Neil who Neale Donald Walsch. He wrote to me, I

Donna Fairhurst:

want to have a discussion. And I literally, I had this long

Donna Fairhurst:

tension cord on my thank God extension cord on my phone, and

Donna Fairhurst:

I just kind of leaned against the wall and sunk down onto the

Donna Fairhurst:

floor and said, Who Katie? And it was so wonderful. For the

Donna Fairhurst:

first time in my life, I felt expansion in a way that I was

Donna Fairhurst:

understood. Yes, it was just coming out of the closet in a

Donna Fairhurst:

big way for me spiritually. And I absolutely adore that man was

Donna Fairhurst:

fortunate to be in many of his workshops, and I'm grateful that

Donna Fairhurst:

he was a vehicle for me to find myself.

Alan Carroll:

Yep, yep. When when things like that happen, it

Alan Carroll:

really validates this idea that there's somebody else running

Alan Carroll:

the show here other than you. And just relax. Go with the

Alan Carroll:

flow. forgiveness. Forgiveness is a big deal. And most people

Alan Carroll:

have a very difficult time forgiving. And because I've been

Alan Carroll:

wronged, Donna, I've been wrong. And for me to forgive you. That

Alan Carroll:

is, that is that would entail the sacrifice of my righteous

Alan Carroll:

wrath. I'm not going to sacrifice my righteous wrath.

Alan Carroll:

I'm not going to I'm not going to that's the total denial of

Alan Carroll:

the truth. No, God damn it. So the ego really wants to defend

Alan Carroll:

the fact that it's been been been attacked, and but

Alan Carroll:

forgiveness. How would you describe forgiveness in your

Alan Carroll:

reality and the importance of

Donna Fairhurst:

forgiveness is the ability to move beyond

Donna Fairhurst:

judgment to find and create value in every experience to

Donna Fairhurst:

expand your consciousness and your awareness of all that is.

Alan Carroll:

Go ahead, say that again. That's beautiful. Oh,

Alan Carroll:

gosh,

Donna Fairhurst:

I really feel I have a hard time re re iterating

Donna Fairhurst:

the same thing.

Alan Carroll:

It's just, just just recreate it doesn't have to

Alan Carroll:

be the exact same words, just recreating what you just said,

Alan Carroll:

forgiveness

Donna Fairhurst:

is a space and a gift that you give yourself to

Donna Fairhurst:

expand beyond the planet, the human plane of judgment and

Donna Fairhurst:

conditions, and failure and challenge to make a choice, a

Donna Fairhurst:

conscientious heart centered choice to find value in whatever

Donna Fairhurst:

person, place or situation is put in your path, that it is for

Donna Fairhurst:

your higher growth, yes, and how you choose deliberately from

Donna Fairhurst:

Sacred soul, self and heart centered. My goal is to show

Donna Fairhurst:

teach, embody, how to marry the mind, map with the heart map to

Donna Fairhurst:

create sacred soul self, from which, when you're in a

Donna Fairhurst:

situation that you are not feeling the love, for whatever

Donna Fairhurst:

reason, you can't bring yourself to that space of love. You can

Donna Fairhurst:

then pull out of the deck of your life choices, the grace

Donna Fairhurst:

card, because grace is the trump of love. You can be grace when

Donna Fairhurst:

you can't be or feel love. And we all have had experiences in

Donna Fairhurst:

our life, where we could not feel love and find value in the

Donna Fairhurst:

person, place or situation in front of us to deal with. If we

Donna Fairhurst:

take a step back, take a breath and lean into grace. We can cope

Donna Fairhurst:

with conscious awareness and go through grace to love

Alan Carroll:

and grace is connected with forgiveness.

Donna Fairhurst:

Absolutely the first thing you have to do is

Donna Fairhurst:

forgive yourself for anything, everything that you ever thought

Donna Fairhurst:

was ever wrong. out of sync bad. Everything you ever did. You

Donna Fairhurst:

have to forgive yourself

Alan Carroll:

and what would forgiving myself look like? Joy

Alan Carroll:

do I have to say something to myself be like go What a burden.

Alan Carroll:

Say, Allen, you're gonna forgive yourself for the is there

Alan Carroll:

something I can do actively to practice forgiveness,

Donna Fairhurst:

there's any number of things we can do. The

Donna Fairhurst:

most important thing is to find value in love you do what you

Donna Fairhurst:

love, love what you do, be who you love, show the people you

Donna Fairhurst:

love that love and lead them to know how to forgive, because you

Donna Fairhurst:

are the model of it.

Alan Carroll:

Wow. That's wonderful. That's wonderful.

Alan Carroll:

What a, what a, just just a just touching little surface of a

Alan Carroll:

conversation with with you has been really a bright light of

Alan Carroll:

meeting somebody who is able to articulate that trance, the

Alan Carroll:

abstraction of what we're talking about, from a heart

Alan Carroll:

experiential point of view, which makes it real, and it's

Alan Carroll:

not a, it's not a it's not a belief system. It's a it's an

Alan Carroll:

experience. And that is really a goldmine. because not a lot of

Alan Carroll:

people have that experience. And it's nice to know that that

Alan Carroll:

experience exist, that gives people hope, that that suffering

Alan Carroll:

that we experience in the physical with the ego, there's a

Alan Carroll:

there's a way out of here, if you're interested in being a way

Alan Carroll:

out, and I see that you're a healer, interested in being a

Alan Carroll:

guide, who is a guide, guiding people out of the chaos into

Alan Carroll:

that calm, clear space, which I call mindfulness. The all the

Alan Carroll:

being mukti, Nirvana, enlightenment, that empty space

Alan Carroll:

of nothingness, in which there is no judgment. And there is no

Alan Carroll:

right or wrong. All there is is stillness, and calmness and

Alan Carroll:

peacefulness and love and careful and then you speak with

Alan Carroll:

the love energy, not the ego energy, you speak with the love

Alan Carroll:

energy and you and you speak with the love energy. So I

Alan Carroll:

really appreciate the love you've given me today. And the

Alan Carroll:

and the stories that you shared. They're very, they're very

Alan Carroll:

moving. They're very moving stories.

Donna Fairhurst:

Thank you so much. I've been blessed with a

Donna Fairhurst:

with what people would think were insurmountable challenges.

Donna Fairhurst:

And at the time I was in them. I thought they were internet, you

Donna Fairhurst:

know, insurmountable challenges until I made a choice that they

Donna Fairhurst:

weren't. Yep. And as soon as you make that choice that you are

Donna Fairhurst:

not the challenge. You are the solution to the challenge.

Donna Fairhurst:

That's why I call my company soulful solutions. So full fu ll

Donna Fairhurst:

Yeah. From when you're in that sacred soul self, you can create

Donna Fairhurst:

soul based solutions.

Alan Carroll:

Very exciting. How will my audience be able to

Alan Carroll:

contact you, Donna?

Donna Fairhurst:

Oh, the most simple way is my website www dot

Donna Fairhurst:

Donna fair hearst.com. On the website, you're going to find

Donna Fairhurst:

all the contact information for me you can get my clearing and

Donna Fairhurst:

manifesting prayer and a complimentary zero to clarity 30

Donna Fairhurst:

Alan Carroll:

Well, thank you very much. And I really enjoy

Alan Carroll:

the opportunity of of talking to a fellow a fellow being on the

Alan Carroll:

path to spread inspiration. Thank you.

Donna Fairhurst:

Let the journey continue.

Alan Carroll:

God bless. God bless you.
