The Dwelling Place of God #4 (Day 5—FOT) - Fred R. Coulter—October 14, 2022
Greetings, brethren! Welcome to Day 5 of the Feast of Tabernacles!
We have been going through the history of Israel, which is very important for us to understand, so that we can see how human nature acts; what they do and the problems that take place. Also the difficulties with the king!
We saw what happened with David after God promised him that his son would build the temple. David got carried away with himself and he had the affair with Bathsheba and killed Uriah the Hittite, her husband, by having him up on the frontline of the battle.
It took quite a while for David and Israel to overcome that, because it also affected all of Israel. Remember that whatever the king did, the people also did! It creates this cycle of: with God, sinning without God, repentance, God has mercy and brings them back!
They come back to God for a while and as long as the king or judge, or prophet stayed with God, the people pretty much followed God, but not in a way that we do today for eternal life.
Let’s see what happened with David just before he died...
