God. Isaiah 41:10. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 7 of 30 Days of Pushing Back Fear. Who’s your god? Strange question, for most of us. Wasn’t so strange back then. There was no shortage of gods. A god for this. A god for that. And even a god for that other thing. Only thing is, they were no gods at all. Only the illusion of gods. Yeah. Same today. Our gods look different, mostly—but they don’t deliver any better. We lodge our hopes in them—and then sudden stumble breaks our delusion, and our falls to pieces. So, this text has a lot of meaning: “Fear not I am with you . . . I am your God.” See, when you’re in the care of a real God—the only real One. A God who spins up galaxies or hurls out suns. Now that’s a thing. A big, big thing. A thing you can count on—even when your best plans are tearing to shreds.
