Welcome to our first Jandals in Japan "Mini" episode, where we share some of the great parts of our interview with our guest that we weren't able to put into our main episode.
How being an international student changed Mayu's life
Her message to young people considering a working holiday in New Zealand or an "OE"
How Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has inspired Mayu to take on the role of director in her business
Our guest is Mayu Suzuki. Mayu is a business and cultural bridge between Japan & New Zealand.
Born in Japan, raised in Japan/New Zealand, currently calling Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), home.
During the daytime Mayu is the Managing Director of mariri New Zealand delivering the taonga (treasured possessions) of Aotearoa New Zealand to Japanese customers on e-platforms.
Mayu is also heavily involved in organising the Japan Festival Wellington - one of the biggest biennial events in the coolest little Capital, spreading her love of Japan.
