Nathan:

But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load.

Paul. Gal 6:4-5. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 29 of 30 Days to a Better Marriage. What would you do if your neighbor spent more time worrying about what your house looked like—checking to see if your grass was cut right, or the flowers were watered well? What if they checked to see if the paint was chipping or the garage door was squeaking? Ok, we all like neighbors who look out for us—but we don’t like busy-body neighbors. At all. We don’t like busy-body spouses either. So don’t be that busy-body spouse. Don’t be your spouses’ critic or inspector general—there are plenty of people they interact with, even critical voices inside their own heads, they have to contend with. Take responsibility for yourself—seek to become the very best companion you can be, every day. Take intentional time to nurture the plant of love. Plan dates. Write notes. Reflect on how you’re impacting your spouse. Dream up every way possible to tell your spouse you love them. Invest. Be your own inspector general, and take action toward a better marriage yourself.
