Shownotes

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is issuing a message to people living with hoarding disorder to let them know that help is at hand.

Hoarding, a recognised mental health condition which is often linked to stressful or traumatic events in people's lives, can lead to large amounts of clutter building up within a property.

Not only can this pose a risk of fire but it can restrict the resident's escape route and make it more difficult for firefighters responding in an emergency.

David Craine is a Sub Officer in the Fire Prevention and Protection Department and has seen cases on the Island where the hoarding is severe.

He's been speaking to Lewis Foster.
