Matthew 9:27–28 (NKJV): Two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Matthew, Jesus. Matthew 9:27–28
Hey, I’m Nathan, and this is Day 10 of 30 Days Watching Jesus. In our modern
society we’ve worked hard to remove the stigma from physical disability. We’ve put laws in place to ensure fair and just treatment. Yet, how often our own actions betray our inner disdain. In private, though, we making jokes and off-color comments. Even in public we treat them in humiliating ways, our words and actions reminding them that they are not like us. But when we sit back and watch Jesus, we find him constantly working to restore and uplift. We find him undeterred by disability. He is never ashamed to be recognized, pursued or approached by any person. He freely gives himself to them, lifting their lives up with his kindness and healing power.
