Episode 26: Humanism from the Heart

Content Note

This episode includes discussion of humanism, life after religion, and building meaning through compassion and connection.

Episode Description

This week on The Awakening, Tamara and I sit down with Steve Ghikadis, author of Humanism from the Heart.

Unlike many of our guests, Steve was not raised within religion. Instead, he was raised as a free thinker, encouraged to explore the world with curiosity and ask questions about faith, meaning, and humanity from an early age. That foundation led him to humanism — not as a reaction, but as a natural extension of a life rooted in openness and inquiry.

Steve shares what it looks like to live a human-centered life grounded in empathy, compassion, and connection. We also talk about his passion for bridging the gap between believers and non-believers, creating space for understanding rather than division.

This conversation is thoughtful, grounding, and a reminder that purpose and goodness are not owned by religion — they are something we build together.

Why This Episode Matters
