Always running, always busy, always so much more to do than there is time to do it! Such is the life of the self-employed business owner but it doesn't have to be that way.
My guest today is Jeffrey Shaw, author of 'The Self-Employed LIfe´and ´Lingo´. Because I am self-employed and many of my listeners are self-employed or would like to be, it made so much sense to speak to a man who understands what most business owners get wrong. So much so, he wrote the book on how to get it right and not from the business methodology side but about understanding what you need to know about yourself in order to be able to flourish as a self-employed person.
I took so many lessons away from this chat and whilst re-listening to edit the show, I realised some things I missed in the live chat. If you think you know how to be great at being self-employed and understanding yourself and your brand as a self-employed speaker, coach, consultant or whatever... you may be surprised what you'll learn from this chat.
Jeffrey gave two great book recommendations, one of which I've already downloaded ready to read is Black Sheep by Brant Menswar. The other is Sell the Way You Buy by David Priemer.
You can discover Jeffrey's core values on his website: JeffreyShaw.com and you can take the self-employed assessment for free here: http://selfemployedassessment.com/ I took it myself and it's really quick to fill out.
