Patient and kind. That’s love. Love is willing to sit down for the long ride. It may hope for change, but it does not give up or lose heart when there are more turns or longer stretches ahead. I kindly holds course. Kindly, because it treats its spouse in just the way it would want to be treated were roles reversed. Kindly, in that it does not manipulate, punish, control or sabotage. It treats the other well, regardless of the outcome—all the time keeping the long-view in mind, committed to staying the course.
