Kennedy gives his famous "We choose to go to the Moon" speech, in which he uttered the famous phrase " I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to earth." It took just under 7 years before man set foot on the Moon in July of 1969.
