Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1280 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Ray Kroc, and it is, “If you work just for the money, you’ll never make it, but if you love what you’re doing and you always put the customer first, success will be yours.”
Love What You Are Doing
If your desire to be successful is based on just obtaining money, you will never be truly successful. You may gain money initially, but if money is the driver for success, you will soon compromise your integrity and values in the pursuit of more money. You must love what you are doing and look to improve the lives of others through the product or services that you offer.
If your overall desire is to make a positive impact on others so that they can grow and find fulfillment in their lives, then you will also grow, find fulfillment, and succeed in your own life. Learn to put other needs of others as a driving force behind your desire for success, and success will be yours.
This is not tied directly to monetary gain, but if you practice these principles faithfully, and with perseverance, then financial success will be the by-product of your efforts. You don’t need to try and impress others or be selfish, but the proof of your sincere desire to help others will be shown in your actions.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
