Episode Summary

In this episode, Ian talks about how achieving the success and influence you know you're capable of will provide the satisfaction and joy you're seeking, so it's this destination that you should strive towards, and the more you lose preconceptions and establish success techniques, the further you go.

Don’t miss:

  • Ian emphasises that you're unique and you construct differently. You must understand that as successful as you are in many areas, you intended for far more.
  • Ian discusses that when you don't allow yourself to process your anger and irritation, you become less helpful.
  • Ian elucidates that it simply seems so clear when you consider how many other people aren't seeing it, how frequently you bring something to the table and people say.
  • Ian disclosed that your vision of your own potential remains clouded. That you are still not living up to your full potential, despite the fact that you’ve already accomplished so much.

I know the power of this work, I love to hear the impact these conversations have, okay, let's get into it.

You're different. Like me, you build different, you know, that's so much of the way the world operates, this doesn't fit with you. You also know you meant for far more as successful as you are in many areas. You know, you meant for more, and you know, instinctively that there's a certain level of unfulfilled potential within you, which you're just dying to bust out. To move towards is really stepping into a level of success and impact that you know, that you're capable of to have that fulfilment, that really fills you up. And the fact that you know you're capable of more, it causes your frustration, maybe even anger. And I want to share with you a little secret. When you don't allow yourself to process that anger and frustration, you drop down into something less helpful. And that's why you have those times where you feel out of nowhere, you just feel a bit low, a bit flat. Not quite right. And you also know that at different times left to its own. That energy will sink your lower. Again, it's because you're different. That very same anger and frustration is actually a tool to help drive you to fulfil your potential. Now, again, you like me, there's some part of your life that you had this incredible potential. When you're younger. You didn't realise it at the time. So you didn't quite make it to where you know, you probably should have. And then to rub it in further you have people tell you further down the track that oh, yeah, you could have done this, you could have done that you could have made it in that area. And you're like Where were you 10 years ago, 20 years ago, and I needed to hear that. But that's okay. Because that unfulfilled potential in that area is going to be part of what drives you on to reach your ultimate potential. In an area that's far more important for your life. So for me, it was spot. On You knew I was reasonably talented, but I didn't appreciate how talented I wanted to be recognised for how well I played. But the moment I was, I felt so uncomfortable. And I was just shying away from getting any sort of attention on me replaying in an open set all age teams when I was 14, and having success and and just kind of dismissing it and then being told years down the track when it was too late to be pursuing an arrow career in any sort of sport that IE you could have made it to here there and all these different places, right? national levels and all that sort of thing. Now I know my heart that I wasn't destined to do that. But what's interesting is that other people saw it within me but I never saw it or felt it within me

but what I did learn from sport is how to be successful, to how to, to be a leader, how to feel like I fit it in, and to have many more positive aspects of my life coming out. So when you can step into that place of that unfulfilled potential, but then realise in that area where you did have a level of success, what you can take forward into your future. So that you can tap into that part of your potential that you haven't tapped into here. And go and make the difference and the impact that you know you can. We've got a client at the moment who is incredibly successful, knows how good he is at what he does in his workplace. But we've talked about it regularly. I know and he knows just how big his upside is how big his potential is, because he sees he sees things that other people don't. And you do too, you see parts of the world in a way that no one else does. And you may be taking it for granted. Because it's just seems so obvious to you start having a look at how many other people aren't seeing it, how often you bring something to the table, and people go oh, yeah, and in your head, it just seems obvious. And it gets so exciting when you can step into that power and, and when you feel uncomfortable hearing it right, because part of you is like, Oh, I know that that's like cringe a little bit. But part of you also knows that that's something that you know, that you can take to a whole other level. It doesn't have to be uncomfortable. And it can actually be the very thing that sets you free. That gives you that success, that fulfilment to give you that peace of mind to let go of all of that stuff that still plays out in your head on loop, keeping you stuck.

I mentioned yesterday's episode that I'm watching some new programmes at the moment. And the one that I mentioned yesterday. It's going to help you reach that unfulfilled potential. That's going to help you go to where you want to go and then beyond to a place that you hadn't even imagined. Because once you start doing this work, you suddenly realise that you're capable of so much more than you could ever have possibly considered with the belief system you had at the time. The more you shed beliefs, the more success strategies you build in, the further that you realise you can go. And then at some point along the journey, you'll continue to have that moment where you're like, Oh, I'm still not seeing how far I can go. I'm still playing too small, I'm still capable of so much more. Now that just gives me goosebumps thinking about it. Hopefully you feel a bit of that as well. So if you're intrigued, reach out. If you want some more information, you'd like to read the text and jump on any of my social media platforms and you'll see more information there. I look forward to speaking to you soon.
