Speaker B:

You need to be really careful of how this stuff works its way out.

Speaker B:

And here's why.

Speaker B:

Your deposit should be what locks them into the job and if they have to buy some expensive materials, it should cover.

Speaker B:

I'm okay with you guys putting a deposit down and then ordering stuff and having to put that in there.

Speaker B:

And the problem is what happens is they start robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Speaker B:

They're running out of money, so maybe they need to order some more materials for the last job that they're finishing up.

Speaker B:

But they underbid it.

Speaker B:

And so what happens is sometimes your deposit hits their bank account.

Speaker B:

They use part of that to buy that, and then they're going by buying materials for you.

Speaker B:

Problem is when they take a lot of that money, they start getting behind and they're using a significant portion of your deposit to get the other one done.

Speaker B:

So they get that contract going.

Speaker B:

And so this kind of card charade game here starts to add up.

Speaker A:

ke advantage of homeowners in:

Speaker A:

Who knows, they might not even be contractors.

Speaker B:

And this is a new trend that we're seeing more and more of.

Speaker B:

They come in low, they get you sucked in.

Speaker B:

Oh, you wanted it that way.

Speaker B:

I'm watching another house.

Speaker B:

It's a million dollar house.

Speaker B:

2 million dollar house builder didn't want to put in any kind of dimming lights in the house.

Speaker B:

I'm like, for 2 million bucks you should have some dimming lights.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry, but it wasn't in the contract.

Speaker B:

So these are things you got to be really careful these days, especially with tariffs and other stuff that could change things.

Speaker B:

If you've got metal, if you've got stuff coming from overseas, this could really burn you.

Speaker B:

So be very careful there.

Speaker B:

So watch out for that.

Speaker B:

Now the next one is much bigger and this is going to be worth probably a good section of this.
