Shownotes

From one particular standpoint, mental load refers to the cognitive and emotional burden associated with managing multiple responsibilities, often experienced by mothers. Harsh right? From many other standpoints, parents all over the world are overloaded by mental load when it comes to their self-care. As Jill and Linda wrestle their little ones and sigh at possibilities of coins getting flushed down the toilet, we touch on some of the following for this episode:

  • Unexpected hospital visits adding to the pressures of motherhood.
  • Creating happy snow memories down the generations.
  • Delegation of chores, systems that work and level ups as children grow older.
  • Internal and external motivations for us and for our children.
  • Specific days for specific tasks to keep us accountable and less effort for remembering.
  • Spaces around us that seem to be consumed with toys or mess and how that impacts our mental load.
  • Food preparation and dinner planning with children and the load it can involve.

Bear with us, we may be back for a part two!
