Shownotes

Olivia Livingstone is a young worship leader originally from Cameroon with a deep passion for the presence of God and the call to holy living. Born into a Christian home, her faith became deeply personal in 2018 after relocating to the United States. During that season, the Lord graciously separated her from unhealthy influences and opened her eyes to fully surrender her life to Him, marking the beginning of a deeper and more intentional walk with Christ.

As she began to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, He started giving her songs in dreams and during intimate times of prayer and worship. These divine melodies became expressions of her devotion, and in 2024, she began recording and releasing them as an offering back to God.

Olivia carries a strong burden for worship, healing, leadership, identity in Christ, family, prayer, and the salvation of souls. She faithfully serves alongside her mother, Evangelist Rachel Bonne Nouvelle Smith, through Heart of Christ for All Nations, a ministry dedicated to supporting orphans and widows in Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, India, and Pakistan. Through online programs and collaborative ministry efforts, she serves in the worship department, helping create an atmosphere where lives can encounter the transforming power of God.

With a heart for this generation, Olivia is called to encourage young men and women to pursue holiness and live fully surrendered to Christ. Her message is clear and unwavering: it is possible to live a consecrated life in today's world, and intimacy with God changes everything.

Speaker:

Welcome to 12 Minute Converse with Jesus Believers.

Speaker:

God chose first to have a conversation with us, his creation.

Speaker:

Our prayer is that this listening space brings growth and transforms your life forever.

Speaker:

Good day Olivia, praise God for you.

Speaker:

Praise God.

Speaker:

So tell me about your journey from Cameroon to the U.S. What inspired you to move across?

Speaker:

I was in Cameroon with my mom and she got married in 2012 and then she moved to the U.S. in 2015 and then I followed her in 2018.

Speaker:

I received the Lord back there when I was in Cameroon.

Speaker:

How did you meet Jesus?

Speaker:

I grew up in a Christian home because my mom, she's an evangelist.

Speaker:

Growing up, I didn't really have an encounter with Jesus until I was 15.

Speaker:

So this is how I met Jesus.

Speaker:

I mean, I decided to get baptized and to truly surrender my life to him.

Speaker:

And yeah, that's how I met him.

Speaker:

What parts of the U.S. are you in?

Speaker:

So I live in Ohio.

Speaker:

I feel like the relationship, it was challenging to me because I was more like, you know, like you can see everybody at any time.

Speaker:

As you were, you don't have, you know, to call to say, hey, are you home or whatever, but so, but here you have to, you know, to make sure everything is organized, prepared, like, okay, this, this, this, this.

Speaker:

So that was the biggest challenge for me, you know, like everybody's always busy, stuff like that.

Speaker:

It's interesting how strict they are with schedules.

Speaker:

That was, that was really interesting to me about people of the U.S., yeah?

Speaker:

When you set an appointment.

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

If it's that time, they usually show up with my podcast five minutes before, yeah?

Speaker:

Other than that, in the Caribbean, it's a bit more lax, yeah?

Speaker:

It's a bit more relaxed, yeah?

Speaker:

Is it similar in the Cameroon?

Speaker:

Oh, in Cameroon, yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

So you get it.

Speaker:

And tell me about your influence on your musical style.

Speaker:

I like any type of music, like style.

Speaker:

I'm not, you know, confined to a specific style.

Speaker:

Like in my country, we have many styles, but since I listen to a lot of different styles from every country, so this is how, when I write, I get inspired, inspired to, you know, to, to choose this color of style of music.

Speaker:

So I think it's just from listening to a lot of different artists, like gospel artists, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, too.

Speaker:

And where did the decision to do most of what you're doing in French, where did that come from?

Speaker:

Yeah, I'm a French speaker.

Speaker:

So yes, back home, we speak French and in British English.

Speaker:

So yeah, I write in French and English, and in native languages, also.

Speaker:

Do you feel it more when you're writing the worship style of your words in French versus English?

Speaker:

Yeah, more in French, yes.

Speaker:

But now I try my best to be more in English as well, like to try to write more in English.

Speaker:

I haven't released a lot of song in English, but I'll pretty soon by God's grace.

Speaker:

How do you keep yourself consecrated to God in the midst of that when the environment has changed?

Speaker:

As I was saying earlier, I have every morning at 9am, we always have our worship time or stuff like that.

Speaker:

So it had helped me a lot.

Speaker:

Where do you want to have the most impact?

Speaker:

Everywhere, because I believe that the gospel, I mean, gospel through worship is supposed to reach everywhere, not just in America, or just in Cameroon, or everywhere.

Speaker:

And who are the artists or the worship leaders that are influencing you currently?

Speaker:

I listen, currently, I'm listening a lot of Nathaniel Bassé.

Speaker:

Right now, I'm listening to his song every morning, like every time, every time it's just his song.

Speaker:

He is just such a blessing.

Speaker:

So yeah, Nathaniel Bassé, for sure.

Speaker:

How do you keep yourself grounded spiritually, and understanding what the path is ahead?

Speaker:

Because it's challenging, right?

Speaker:

We can agree it's going to be challenging.

Speaker:

In fact, just the faith walk is challenging.

Speaker:

So how are you?

Speaker:

I know you talked about your mother and devotions.

Speaker:

Is there another way for someone that's listening so that they can say, Oh, yeah, I can do that as well to keep yourself spiritually grounded?

Speaker:

Yeah, I think the word of God, first of all, is very important.

Speaker:

The word of God, you know, my, my my prayer life, you know, and, and to be surrounded with people who encourage you to, like, godly friends, godly people who can, like, you know, always remind you, like, hey, God, God, God, you see, so that's how I, I am not connected to people who can, who may disconnect me from God, I try my best to be surrounded by people who has the fear of God.

Speaker:

So that's how I really get every even the songs that I listen to the music, I mean, everything, the movie, whatever is my circle is about God.

Speaker:

So that's how I do.

Speaker:

I love your stage name.

Speaker:

I still would love to hear the fullness of your real name.

Speaker:

Yeah, so that I can have that recorded and embedded in time.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

So just is the first your first name?

Speaker:

Yes, just learn is my first name.

Speaker:

Just let me that's my last name.

Speaker:

But just learn is my living stone.

Speaker:

Where did you come up with that from?

Speaker:

Yes, Livingstone when I was in Cameroon, one day like that, the Lord just gave me that name Livingstone.

Speaker:

Even before I started recording, the Lord gave me Livingstone.

Speaker:

And this is how I changed that name on you on Facebook, I changed it Livingstone.

Speaker:

In fact, my first name on Facebook has been always been Livingstone.

Speaker:

But later on, I was like, I'm going to see what is what is the meaning of Livingstone.

Speaker:

And I found out Oh, Livingstone is actually a priest, somebody who offered the sacrifice to God, you know, so it's not just a fancy name.

Speaker:

So I was like, Oh, yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker:

So the Lord wants me to live for him to offer him praises, you know, to be a truly Yeah, so it's a it has a meaning, even, you know, because even me with my family, I was rejected.

Speaker:

So I'm like, it's okay, now I am a Livingstone.

Speaker:

Now God, you know, I'm, you know, so it's born again, made anew.

Speaker:

Born again.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

This has been a great pleasure.

Speaker:

Of course, links will be in the show notes so you can listen to her voice to see if I'm just amping up how she really sounds if she really sounds good.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So we have those links there, Olivia.

Speaker:

In closing, is there anything else you'd like to share with our amazing audience?

Speaker:

I just want to say live for Jesus is the best thing you can do is there's no age to live for Jesus live for Jesus, give your life to him and surrender.

Speaker:

That's all I can say like use your talent, your gift for the Lord.

Speaker:

Yeah, because he's coming back soon.

Speaker:

Olivia, this has been a great pleasure one I treasure.

Speaker:

Thank you for being on what is inspired by 12 minute converse.
