We mistakenly think only a few people have the capacity to lead us spiritually, so we turn down help from capable people who could shepherd us and instead seek help from the few “professionals.” Christ didn’t just save believers from their sin but he also sent them his own Spirit to live in them. Because of this, your spiritual needs can be met by any person of integrity who has the Spirit, not just a select group of clergy. Seek shepherding from the 10’s not just the 1,000’s.
