How did Abraham trust the word so much that when he was told to, he went to sacrifice Isaac? That word was more real to him than death itself. Show Notes: • Abraham is our example, considering his own body and not wavering regarding the word given to him. • There are many in scripture that took the word given to them without considering circumstances and believed that word intensely. • We must not be afraid to make a mistake, take the initiative and do something about it. References: Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Colossians 2:8-23 “Do not handle, do not touch.” 1 Samuel 16:7  But YHWH said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for not as man sees, for man looks at the eyes, but YHWH looks at the heart. Romans 4:19  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: Genesis 22:1-19 Abraham is told to sacrifice Isaac. Genesis 16 Hagar and Ishmael Quotes: • We have a habit of making rules out of everything. • Their faith wasn’t in circumstances, or how they felt • Abraham didn’t waver in his faith, because it was from God Take Away: We should search the scriptures and let the Holy Spirit speak to us a word that we can get a hold of and believe with all of our hearts. How can we take the initiative to move in the promises that God has given?

The only thing you have to do is believe. That's all you have to do. We've put so many restrictions on ourselves like I got to go into my closet and pray. I have to fast for this amount of time or something. That's not it. All we have to do is open up to Him. That's the only thing that we have to do. And it's getting easier and easier as the time gets closer, I think. It's an easy process if you just allow your brain to get rid of the rules.

Ron

What was so awesome about Abraham, and there were other men and women of God in the Bible that had that same attitude that their faith wasn't in circumstances. Faith wasn't in what they saw, or you know, how things change daily. Their faith wasn't in their emotions, or how they felt. Their faith was focused on God's word. They realized that God gave them a promise, gave them a word. And He was willing and able to complete what He spoke. Now, here's the balance in this thing. So God gives you a word, your faith is in that word, your faith is in the Lord saying He spoke it, He's going to accomplish it. Okay, that could create a passivity. The balance is this guy is 100 years old and yet he still is still believing God and He's not; He's not looking at the situation going, Oh, this is just a symptom. Or this is a false symptom or false (illusion). No, he's looking it square in the eye. And he's going, we are really old. But, but. He's looking at God. And he's going, but God spoke a word, right? We're talking about initiative. I'm thinking to myself; hey, look, I get this Lord. You're saying move ahead. You've spoken you've imparted to us a word from God even you've revealed your principles of the kingdom to us. And now you're saying go ahead, move in what I've given you. Move-in the principles, move in what I've laid out before you. And so we do that.

Abraham had a faith from God. And it wasn't his own faith because in there, he's looked at Sarah, he looked at himself, and his faith in the Word didn't waver. It's the little one-liners that get slipped in there, you know. People talk about Abraham and the miracle of Sarah, having a child, and all this stuff. They look at all that stuff, and they talk about it. But they didn't read that part there, where Abraham didn't waver in his faith, because it was from God. What's different about today than, say, five years ago, or 10 years ago, God has established in His people, a new level of faith that has eyes that are not dimmed by the things that they see (Sandy: right) around about them. That their ears are not clogged by what they hear on TV, and what people are saying, Oh, it's terrible, this and terrible that. It's that faith that God has made for whatever reason, (Sandy: right) Is His faith more available for us to appropriate than ever before. (Ron: right, Sandy: yes) Because, He's got a people now, like Abraham, who have received that faith from Him, and they're putting it into practice. They're not dissuaded. They're not discouraged. They don't stumble over these things, because they're in the hands of the Lord. And He is leading them.
