I read this quote by Peter Marshall and it says, teach us, Lord, the disciplines of patience for the weight is often harder than the work. And that stood out to me because I sat with it and I said, hmm, the weight is harder than the work. It's easy to work. It's easy to volunteer with.

underprivileged youth or to show up at work every day and do the work that we are being called to do. It is easy to work and to sit with your children and to help them learn a subject. But the weight, if God is commanding us, nope, I don't want you to volunteer in that nonprofit right now. I just want you instead

to sit at home and just be still and wait for my instruction. Nope, I don't want you taking on any project at work. I want you to be still and stay in this position until I have called you to take a promotion. Nope, it's not time for your kids to move on to that next subject that you're trying to push them to. I want you to wait. I want them to master.

what they're doing before they move. The weight is hard. Why is the weight so hard for so many of us? Because we're used to doing, we're used to earning, we're used to moving. But the weight, in the weight, what do we learn? How do we move from that place of

I'm working to I'm Psalms 27 verses 14 says, wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. So that verse starts and ends with wait for the Lord. In our season of waiting and our season of being still, sometimes God wants us to just stay in that place.

And I am moving from a season of waiting. That wasn't easy. This season of waiting that I am still in has been clouded with pain. I have had heartbreak. I have had disappointment. I've had defeat. And I am still here and I'm waiting.

for the Lord. I'm not taking things into my own hands. I'm not trying to figure out what I can do or how I can get this to work or what I need to do to change this person or to change that person. I am being strong. I'm taking heart. I am asking God to lead me, to guide me, to direct my path. Because if I don't wait on the Lord, then I'm working.

And if I am working outside of God's will, whatever I'm doing, I'm spinning my wheels. It's for no reason. So remember your season of waiting is difficult for a reason. That season of waiting, you have to be strong in the Lord. You have to allow him to tell you when it's okay to move. You have to allow him to tell you when...

He wants you to stop waiting. So wait for the Lord. Be strong, take heart and wait for the Lord.
