[:[00:00:09] Frank Roll III: Hollywood and the independent video
[:[00:00:22] Scott Moran: Does this hold up? And just what the hell is a good movie anyway? I'm Frank Roll. I'm Scott Moran. And we're The Last Video Store
[:[00:00:36] Scott Moran: Would prefer an RC Cola.
[:[00:00:56] Frank Roll III: And I could finish the flat RC in the other bottle. And so, I kind of grew up on flat RC at her house for a while.
[:[00:01:06] Frank Roll III: I mean, I'm sure I could have gotten the fizzy stuff, but she was just like, no, you can have this one. So I'd go fucking pour a cup
[:[00:01:22] Scott Moran: And so I was like basically encouraging my stepmother to drink because like, don't you want that thing again?
[:[00:01:31] Scott Moran: on tonight's episode, alcoholic parents,
[:[00:01:38] Scott Moran: did it begin? I know where it ended. They
[:[00:01:47] Frank Roll III: That's
[:[00:01:49] Frank Roll III: was like, just get the foam. And so like, were they using
[:[00:01:53] Frank Roll III: Maybe. I mean, the dog, they gave the dog beer once or twice in a bowl and it was a boxer that couldn't swim. So like once, like they put them in the, like he would just sink to the bottom. So my dad would have to jump in and get the boxer out of the shallow end of the pool.
[:[00:02:13] Scott Moran: eating rocks before that, now he sinks to the bottom of the pool.
[:[00:02:19] Frank Roll III: I did not yet know what a boxer was. So, his boxer's name was Doobie. I did not yet know what a Doobie was either. They bring this dog to my grandparents house, I'm like, Doobie! His name's Doobie. So I got to name a dog Doobie at a very young age.
[:[00:02:35] Frank Roll III: Cause my mom had a friend with a dog that looked like that, so that dog had to have the same name.
[:[00:02:48] Frank Roll III: I grew up with Doobie. Then there was Bandit, but he was a little shit. He was like chow labrador mix. My mom's dog
[:[00:03:03] Frank Roll III: Facts.
[:[00:03:08] Scott Moran: Yeah Yeah, would you watch this week? I watched all these with
[:[00:03:27] Scott Moran: Oh, okay. You didn't even get to the, the maid
[:[00:03:42] Frank Roll III: I haven't finished Arnold, but I'm not going to talk about it on here ever again, but I will finish it.
[:[00:03:50] Frank Roll III: TV show. Well, it's cause I'm torn. So here's the deal. Do you feel like, you know, too much about celebrities now as compared to like 10, 15 years ago?
[:[00:04:02] Scott Moran: a problem if you care, but like, I don't emotionally invest in artists lives. Well, we live
[:[00:04:21] Frank Roll III: But like, is he a good guy? Like, is he, is he really a good guy? I want to love Arnold, but I'm like, Man, is this guy really like the epitome of what I dislike?
[:[00:04:34] Frank Roll III: don't care. You don't care. No. So, and it's not just with Arnold. It's like, how would I feel about some of these Like I had a problem with one of the main stars in the movie that we're talking about this evening.
[:[00:05:05] Frank Roll III: Foreigner came over here, bodybuilder, big, sexy man. He goes from that to like entertainment, then into movies. Then, you know, the guy went into, you know, planted Hollywood, making all that money. But then when it comes to politics, it's like, wow, that's, that's not what I'm
feeling.
[:[00:05:20] Scott Moran: You can't live a truly ethical life. At all. Like, no one can. You can't do good all the time. It's impossible to
[:[00:05:40] Frank Roll III: Later in life, you know, I'm, I'm wanting to be like, I, I take the age into account.
[:[00:06:05] Scott Moran: It's not worth worrying about to me. Well, I'm not out
[:[00:06:13] Scott Moran: But with the Arnold thing, like, I mean, I'm still interested. It's kind of like, watching the Cuba Gooding Jr. O. J. Simpson show. Like, I saw that shit happen.
[:[00:06:40] Frank Roll III: Yeah. I didn't make it all the
[:[00:06:45] Frank Roll III: Um, anyway, so, yeah, I mean, uh, I didn't finish Arnold. I won't talk about it anymore. Oh, good. Ha ha. But I did watch some I watched Screamers. Oh, fuck, yeah. It's on Amazon Prime, by the way. Yeah. We're currently Peter Weller.
[:[00:07:05] Scott Moran: he did everything. He did everything good He
[:[00:07:14] Scott Moran: as a whole.
[:[00:07:20] Frank Roll III: I don't think he will
[:[00:07:29] Frank Roll III: Everything is so amazing.
[:[00:07:32] Scott Moran: time for aliens again. I've been thinking about watching alien It was time for
[:[00:07:45] Scott Moran: man. You found a continuity error? Couple. Really? One
[:[00:07:53] Frank Roll III: You know, like,
[:[00:08:02] Frank Roll III: scene where Hudson, R. I. P. Bill Paxton. It's when, uh. Ripley and Newt are trying to get away from the two face grabbers that were released by Burke in the lab.
[:[00:08:28] Frank Roll III: That's just where it started because I'm like, okay, let's give him a, let's give him a pass. Critical part of the movie, everybody's dying, Ripley, Hicks, and Newt are making the escape. Well, what's it, Gorman and Vasquez, boom, right? The blast is what knocks Newt down. It shows Hicks put the fucking gun across to stop the vent wheel, you know what I mean?
[:[00:08:53] Scott Moran: Oh. Like it was that loose, it's like in Jurassic It's weird that We've seen it that many times, and this is the first time
[:[00:09:05] Frank Roll III: It was just right there. Um, did you see anything new? Instead of like me just hanging on to the oldies?
[:[00:09:22] Frank Roll III: show. Yeah, I remember the cover.
[:[00:09:26] Scott Moran: I remember the cover. And then I didn't finish it, and I know it got prematurely cancelled. So...
[:[00:09:35] Scott Moran: I did The Strain. Was that okay? It was alright. Okay. I read the books too. Guillermo del Toro, like, wrote the books with Chuck Hogan.
[:[00:09:42] Frank Roll III: way, uh... MGM Plus is not free. Season 1 of From is not free.
[:[00:09:47] Frank Roll III: watched it. Not for me. I tried. I was sat down, I committed to it, and I was like, Motherfucker. Oh, weird. Yeah, but I think I'm gonna try and plan something out and just see what else is on there and get it again for like a month or two.
[:[00:10:08] Scott Moran: Yeah, get a trial of it. You could finish it pretty quickly. Well, I already did the trial. Oh, you did the trial of MGM Plus? Or
[:[00:10:15] Scott Moran: uh... AMC. Oh, we did AMC, yeah.
[:[00:10:23] Frank Roll III: you, that makes a lot of sense and that makes me feel better about just, blah, blah, blah. You know, what I just did. Okay, cool. I didn't fuck up, it's their fault. Too many
[:[00:10:34] Frank Roll III: plus And I fucking did horrible at algebra, so fuck
[:[00:10:38] Scott Moran: X equals Fuck off.
[:[00:10:51] Frank Roll III: No, have you seen how they make them do simple math? It's this whole broken out process. They have to
[:[00:11:02] Scott Moran: So it teaches you to think in a, like, logical or non
[:[00:11:09] Scott Moran: Yeah. It's probably the same as anything else.
I'm
[:[00:11:16] Scott Moran: Yeah, I'm fucking trash at math.
[:[00:11:20] Frank Roll III: some geography? You know, history
[:[00:11:32] Frank Roll III: Nah, they're into just different shit these
[:[00:11:35] Scott Moran: But it was true. If you have Paramount, you have Showtime. I watched Becky on Paramount through Showtime for free.
[:[00:11:52] Scott Moran: That's... weird. Because I verified that if you have it, you have Showtime.
[:[00:12:00] Frank Roll III: I'll look again. There's a small chance I'm getting it mixed up with Peacock, but I'm
[:[00:12:12] Scott Moran: If you have Paramount, you have Showtime for free. See, I don't know,
[:[00:12:18] Scott Moran: Well, you So I guarantee you I pay for Paramount. I don't pay for any extras or bells and whistles on it or anything like that I just have normal fucking Paramount.
[:[00:12:29] Frank Roll III: We're the only other ones. There's
[:[00:12:49] Frank Roll III: is.
[:[00:12:55] Scott Moran: just show you right now. Hold
[:[00:13:12] Scott Moran: Paramount price hiked and added Showtime for free. This is Vanity Fair.
[:[00:13:19] Scott Moran: And the Showtime app will be shut down by the end of 2023.
[:[00:13:31] Scott Moran: I wouldn't keep saying if it wasn't true. So Becky, the movie we watched this week is available on Paramount Plus. It's on Hulu without Showtime. If you're an idiot and you pay for that too.
[:[00:13:44] Scott Moran: Hulu. It's not You pay for Showtime through Hulu, even though you have it for free.
[:[00:13:51] Frank Roll III: through Paramount plus movies, but movies on Hulu that are on Showtime have the Showtime icon in the bottom right. Uh, this does not. So this is Lulu on Hulu. Becky Lulu on Hulu. .
[:[00:14:09] Scott Moran: When we first started
[:[00:14:11] Scott Moran: can say over a year. And Frank didn't want to watch it because of who was in the movie. Look,
[:[00:14:23] Scott Moran: So that's why you hate him?
[:[00:14:27] Frank Roll III: Cop? There's just several reasons, and I just feel like he's not a nice
[:[00:14:37] Frank Roll III: Yes. Which has been discussed on several platforms. Really? Yes. I bel yeah. You can see It's
[:[00:14:45] Scott Moran: Like I was like, that part was written for Chris Farley and Kevin James is not doing a good job of filling the shoes.
[:[00:14:56] Scott Moran: no nos. And the Nene's? Describe it to me. The Nita Wanda's? Show me on the doll where they're at.
[:sequel
[:[00:15:11] Scott Moran: Becky. Do you want to do the sequel next week?
[:[00:15:20] Scott Moran: 99? That's a good question.
[:[00:15:39] Frank Roll III: make me angry I didn't want to and I got past the kevin james thing.
[:[00:15:47] Scott Moran: be
[:[00:15:56] Frank Roll III: God, I hope they pick her up and she gets in that flow. If she keeps
[:[00:16:07] Frank Roll III: her performances are great and she's got those eyes. She can do a lot with those eyes in movies, man. Those eyes are going to take her a long way in movies.
[:[00:16:18] Scott Moran: And that dance at the end of Worm. The dance at
[:[00:16:30] Scott Moran: her.
[:[00:16:36] Frank Roll III: Haunting of Hill House than you think.
[:[00:16:48] Scott Moran: No.
[:[00:16:51] Scott Moran: there. There are other people like us though. Yeah. I feel like I spent half my life just explaining what I'm talking about.
[:[00:17:01] Scott Moran: That's true. They do. I just can't, I can't watch fucking commercials, man.
[:[00:17:11] Frank Roll III: just feel like, you know, another decade or two, people can be like, remember when they were. TV shows on TV. Those are the good old days. People are going to talk about like Tool Time and
[:[00:17:22] Frank Roll III: Yeah, there you go. You know what I mean, man.
[:[00:17:36] Frank Roll III: I still like to go to the Family Guy episode where they were like, What if Home Alone took place in the real world?
[:[00:17:46] Frank Roll III: Becky had that inner fucking rage, man, just the survival
[:[00:17:51] Scott Moran: So I watched it twice. Did you? Yeah, I just threw it on while I was working on the episode, looking up trivia and stuff like that. And so the second time I watched it, I noticed that they kind of drop hints that she's not the most stable in the beginning of the movie. Like the whole lead up to the action.
[:[00:18:25] Frank Roll III: comparison? Like.
[:[00:18:29] Scott Moran: I really like that. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Becky is being bullied at school and her relationship with her father, Jeff, is strained by losing her mother to cancer a year earlier. On what Becky thinks is a father daughter weekend away, Jeff's girlfriend Kayla and her young son Ty arrive and over dinner they announce that they are getting married.
[:[00:18:56] Frank Roll III: of the woman in the lake house that, Oh, we're not gonna sell it. By the way though, I'm marrying
[:[00:19:05] Scott Moran: And granted, he might be kinda fucked up. But it just seems like a rash decision and a Poor fucking parenting choices. Well,
[:[00:19:17] Scott Moran: I see what you did there. To make things worse, when Becky and her dog Diego head off to be alone at her fort in the woods, escaped Neo Nazi prisoners, led by the skinhead King of Queens, show up looking for a key they'd hidden in the basement long ago.
[:[00:19:47] Frank Roll III: does. And you know what? Did you notice that shit hit right at the halfway mark in the
[:[00:19:52] Scott Moran: Yes. I have some writer shit to say about how I I,
[:[00:20:11] Scott Moran: sorry.
[:[00:20:30] Frank Roll III: anything.
[:[00:20:34] Scott Moran: God damn it
[:[00:20:38] Scott Moran: more observing report was sad, man I've watched that movie multiple times over the last few years. Like, it is dark. It's very dark.
[:[00:20:50] Scott Moran: in that shit. And there's something else about like, Paul Blart spitting in that face.
[:[00:21:10] Frank Roll III: but I can appreciate
[:[00:21:13] Scott Moran: Yeah, and so I think that's where I get my rage about Paul Blart. Becky was slated for
[:[00:21:23] Scott Moran: you know. COVID, baby. It was COVID, baby. It ended
[:[00:21:38] Scott Moran: Ruckus Skye.
[:[00:21:42] Frank Roll III: It was really, yeah, because the ones that we come across where we think something got lost in the writing, it's where it switched hands several times.
[:[00:21:54] Scott Moran: Like
[:[00:21:56] Scott Moran: point? Well, clearly two of these people are brothers.
[:[00:22:04] Scott Moran: Oh, yeah. Ruckus. Even more common. I feel like
[:[00:22:09] Scott Moran: all the time.
[:[00:22:12] Frank Roll III: gotta check that out. Uh, Becky stars Lulu Wilson as Becky, Kevin James as Dominic, Joel McHale as Jeff, Robert Malay as Apex, Amanda Bruegel as Kayla. I have a lot to say about her. Did you, did you find stuff on Amanda Bruegel?
[:[00:22:26] Scott Moran: She was in Kim's Convenience, and I fucking love that show. See, okay, I, okay,
[:[00:22:33] Scott Moran: one of them Well, I mean, she was in Infinity
[:[00:22:42] Frank Roll III: Simon Pegg was originally cast as Dominic, but due to scheduling conflict, he was replaced by Kevin James a month later. That is a very significant swap. Yes, it is. You know, Simon Pegg, you know, slimmer, taller, you know, man. And then, you know, you've got Kevin James who was a football player in his
[:[00:23:02] Scott Moran: What? Because I think this movie would have just been skyrocket phenomenal if this was Simon Peck. Ha ha ha. I,
[:[00:23:16] Scott Moran: did good. I think he just was good for it though. Like he fit fine in that role.
[:[00:23:23] Frank Roll III: It's okay though. I think
[:[00:23:31] Frank Roll III: James. Well, I mean, it's the first time Kevin James has ever played a dramatic role. And the first time he's ever been the villain, unless of course you count Paul Blart, malt cop.
[:[00:23:41] Frank Roll III: Seth Rogen all the way. God, that movie was fucking nuts, dude.
[:[00:23:50] Frank Roll III: Report? Observing Report. This movie was fucking nuts as well, but like in
[:[00:24:06] Scott Moran: So this was like, Green Room, and Die Hard, and John Wick, all mixed together. It tasted good. Ha ha ha ha ha. Went down nice. The fucking score was phenomenal. It's not something I point out every time with a movie. Except for Swiss Army Man. But the score to this movie, I thought it was really, really good.
[:[00:24:42] Frank Roll III: Again, I apologize for making you wait so long to watch it because I thoroughly enjoyed the shit out of this movie. There wasn't a single moment of hesitation. Like I said, I had to overcome my feelings towards Kevin James, but it's fine because the movie just completely made up
[:[00:25:19] Frank Roll III: I like that's right.
[:[00:25:23] Scott Moran: talking on the radio like Yeah,
[:[00:25:37] Frank Roll III: I thought that that was gonna come in somewhere. It didn't I'm
[:[00:25:45] Frank Roll III: Yeah, I wasn't second guessing shit I really wasn't trying to come up with my own story just That was probably the only moment where I was like, Oh man, please don't let him like find her in like some critical moment where she needs to be hiding because he does
[:[00:25:57] Scott Moran: That would have been too obvious, I think. Because yeah, nothing
[:[00:26:00] Scott Moran: super obvious. And when they would do some like little kid shit, they would pay it off with. Ultra gore.
[:[00:26:11] Scott Moran: they made Becky. Yeah. She is not a good person.
[:[00:26:18] Scott Moran: and a beautiful voice.
[:[00:26:21] Frank Roll III: fucking,
[:[00:26:25] Frank Roll III: Yeah. I mean, uh, you know, the way she's playing the ukulele in the scene with the mom, I feel like that's maybe a hobby that she had. And they were like, let's work it in there. Like the way Arnold works in the cigar.
[:[00:26:42] Frank Roll III: The mom thing. Can I just say one thing about the mom thing? That was like somewhat of a highlight video she was watching on her phone, wasn't it?
[:[00:26:56] Frank Roll III: got all the apps. They can make all the video cuts they need to.
[:[00:27:06] Scott Moran: were lots of little weird threads with the cold open where she says, well, he had an orange camouflage shirt. Like you were like looking for that orange camouflage shirt afterwards, which was sort of a misdirect because it wasn't.
[:[00:27:23] Frank Roll III: first associated. Well, they're in a prison. It's the orange jumpsuits. That's what, that was
[:[00:27:34] Scott Moran: Cole. Yes. Yes. I had like the, the scientist guy at massive dynamic. Well, he's a young scientist. I didn't
[:[00:27:44] Scott Moran: Yeah. He's good. Yeah. He's one of those guys. He's like the guy who played Daniel Faraday. In, uh, Lost. The little scientist guy who comes later.
[:[00:28:05] Frank Roll III: may never have seen Rescue Dawn. It was
alright.
[:[00:28:12] Scott Moran: Amanda Bruegel though. Yeah, she is popping up in an array of things.
[:[00:28:20] Scott Moran: Tale. She's in Handmaid's Tale. She's in Kim's Convenience. She's the pastor at their church
[:[00:28:26] Scott Moran: Orphan Black Yeah, she popped up at some point in season four I think is when they're in the
[:[00:28:33] Frank Roll III: Uh huh, but what impressed me was one of her oldest movies Which we did just talk about recently Jason X She was
[:[00:28:42] Frank Roll III: So she, yeah, I went ahead, once I started seeing like, you know, like every couple movies, I was like, no way, no way. She's got some really cool fucking movies under her belt, dude.
[:[00:28:52] Scott Moran: There is a shocking amount of cast members from Andromeda with Kevin Sorbo in Jason X. Oh. I think maybe Somebody who directed episodes of Andromeda. Andromeda was made from an old Gene Roddenberry script from way back in the day. Roddenberry.
[:[00:29:11] Scott Moran: jam. It's boysenberry.
[:[00:29:19] Frank Roll III: Um, no no no, but uh, this cast was great. Fuck it. I liked them all. I think everybody did
[:[00:29:38] Scott Moran: I love him. Don't get me wrong. I think that he better was served in assassination, assassination, nation, community, who he is on talk soup, you know, like it's hard to be like. Cause I literally was like, this is way too fucking soon for you to marry another person and, don't get me wrong, grieve however the fuck you want, but like, this is the wrong way to deal with your daughter.
[:[00:30:22] Scott Moran: Your mom has only died a year ago. I just watched Fucking shrinking. A year is not long enough. No,
[:[00:30:39] Scott Moran: But like having the kind of sympathy for him, like I could almost be like, I mean, I think you fucked this girl up a
[:[00:30:45] Frank Roll III: I didn't think you'd want to talk about this aspect of it, but that was one of my first notes was he waited one year to remarry. And I thought you would think it was petty that I would bring
[:[00:31:05] Scott Moran: Like, not in a, like, I wish she was gone, but like, I am carrying this around, and it's over. People don't talk about that, it's dark. I get it, as a character flaw. And then... Maybe he meets this other woman and her husband died too, and together they're grieving. But
[:[00:31:28] Scott Moran: fucking country home.
[:[00:31:31] Frank Roll III: who's already
[:[00:32:01] Scott Moran: The mom seemed like she was a fine mother As far as a dying person goes, I don't know.
[:[00:32:09] Scott Moran: dog. Here's the thing, I don't like seeing it, but it also fucking super emotionally affects me. So, it's always a good move. You do a couple things to make me sympathize for a character.
[:[00:32:28] Frank Roll III: Since we're talking about the dogs, I, we can, I want to skip ahead in the story. The dog in the fort the whole time, that was fucking brilliant. It was such a distraction, but so simple. And I've never seen
[:[00:32:44] Scott Moran: Yeah, because you've got this
[:[00:32:58] Scott Moran: being locked in that fucking fort. Yeah, and apparently it has a key role in the next movie, too.
[:[00:33:11] Frank Roll III: but I really do, yeah, so we're gonna do it, right?
[:[00:33:16] Frank Roll III: bat.
[:[00:33:19] Scott Moran: sorry. I really like that they named the dogs Dora the Explorer character.
[:[00:33:26] Scott Moran: dink. Did you ever have to watch that show? In the presence of a child? No. When she blinks, it makes a sound, it goes tick, tick. Once you notice, it drives you fucking crazy, man.
[:[00:33:37] Frank Roll III: Dora! No, um, I never had to do that much Dora. Our little one never got
[:[00:33:56] Frank Roll III: what is the key going to be for?
[:[00:34:04] Scott Moran: I do know that some of the negative reviews of it are people who were like, they didn't answer any of my questions. Maybe now's not the time. And if it's a series, because that's what I want to know is Sean William Scott coming back for the key.
[:[00:34:28] Frank Roll III: Um, no, I thought we were still talking about
[:[00:34:33] Frank Roll III: brain clean. In case anybody cares, I've worked 11 days straight.
[:[00:34:42] Scott Moran: tired. Yeah, and your butthole's all stretched out. Nah, but
[:[00:34:51] Scott Moran: get those Saks underwear with the nice little things.
[:[00:35:02] Frank Roll III: Just wear boxers, let them breathe. It's
[:[00:35:11] Frank Roll III: These are, these were tan.
[:[00:35:15] Scott Moran: shorts. How'd you like fucking Apex? Apex is a fucking giant, man. I've seen that guy in some other stuff. I didn't look to
[:[00:35:23] Scott Moran: been in some stuff where he's like, heavily in makeup, too. Cause they just need a big figure. Yeah, he's gonna be like, one of those David Lynch guys.
[:[00:35:32] Frank Roll III: got, he seems like he's got the giant in him. You know, the facial structure, the
[:[00:35:39] Frank Roll III: years old. Damn, dude.
[:[00:35:48] Scott Moran: Although that tall man, he's still kicking. Lurch, from the Addams Family.
[:[00:35:56] Scott Moran: gotta be up there. He's like 70,
[:[00:36:04] Scott Moran: his fucking feet though.
[:[00:36:21] Scott Moran: Manfeige when you're on the other side.
[:[00:36:36] Scott Moran: I didn't feel all that bad for him. It wasn't hitting me. Yeah, I was like, I mean, I felt for Becky.
[:[00:36:48] Scott Moran: I was worried was that Becky was gonna end up in foster care
[:[00:36:55] Scott Moran: though. Yeah, and I feel like this lady needs to fucking adopt Becky I I would like to have her a few years
[:[00:37:08] Scott Moran: basement.
[:[00:37:13] Frank Roll III: you. Yeah, I didn't feel for, I
[:[00:37:24] Scott Moran: Cool!
[:[00:37:33] Scott Moran: Yeah, I kind of appreciate that it didn't happen. I know.
[:[00:37:45] Scott Moran: 40 minutes.
[:[00:38:05] Scott Moran: Like, that's when we cross the threshold into Part 4 where it's what we came to see. You know? This is when Neo learns Kung Fu. But, we didn't get to that until... Part like six is when Morpheus gets taken, but that's when fucking Becky becomes Becky She puts the hat on she gets the blood on her face She stabs the motherfucker with her school supplies
[:[00:38:33] Frank Roll III: That
[:[00:38:41] Frank Roll III: No. This was, she was resourceful. And, and while she didn't have a plan, she knew that she had to, she wanted revenge. And
[:[00:38:53] Scott Moran: Where she sets the traps. I don't think that's a fair comparison, because she sets one trap, really.
[:[00:39:05] Scott Moran: R. Also, it didn't fully kill the guy, and so she had to fucking beat him with a board with nails in it.
[:[00:39:13] Frank Roll III: he couldn't swim. And it's gratuitous. Yeah, but I mean think about it. You've yeah, two nails to the head He probably would have bled out or that's gonna cause something but not right away Like let's be real about it. Like people get shot movies all the time. It's
[:[00:39:32] Frank Roll III: It's all I've been in the water I've been in lakes, you know what I mean I've been around boats at times in my life for extended period of time.
[:[00:39:42] Scott Moran: that propeller. Well, we knew a guy in high school. He Fucking got his foot caught in a boat prop. He had scars. It was mangled
[:[00:39:54] Frank Roll III: You're always aware, but it's always a fear, you know? Um, but then the look on her face, she does, she did evil well. What was it? I was like, you put on that toboggan, you know, it's time for
[:[00:40:10] Frank Roll III: fresh. That was right after dad kill.
[:[00:40:18] Scott Moran: well I didn't even realize that it was gonna get as gory as it was gonna get dude. They showed it come out Yeah, and that was more but like it wasn't until she started stabbing Cole that I was like This is full on fucked up And then, by the time we get to the boat prop, I couldn't fucking believe what was happening.
[:[00:40:38] Frank Roll III: on that hat, and I was like, Ooh, evil Louise. You know
[:[00:40:49] Frank Roll III: Did the little kitty cat. The little warm up. Yeah, a little,
[:[00:41:00] Scott Moran: Where he bounces back and forth.
[:[00:41:08] Scott Moran: white race just keeps pushing him on. Which makes me wonder, what the fuck is his key for, man?
[:[00:41:18] Frank Roll III: Those were like his minions. Where do you find an apex? Prison. No, he said for years.
[:[00:41:31] Frank Roll III: songs from Rent, okay? What we need to talk about here is at what point
[:[00:41:43] Scott Moran: Becky's parents owned the place. Mm hmm. Why was the key in the house? That was the other
[:[00:41:50] Scott Moran: a storytelling perspective, like, this is how we get him in the house. We need a reason to be there. But why that house? Yeah, and the key and the symbol on their hand.
[:[00:42:16] Frank Roll III: Well, with that whole fucking swastika, in different cultures, isn't that
[:[00:42:21] Scott Moran: But, I don't know, there's something mystical about the key in my mind now. Like, they're like, what the fuck
[:[00:42:31] Scott Moran: what's it gonna do for all the races? What's that guy fucking talking about? Like, I don't know what's white supremacist reticate and what's a magical key, and what's in the fucking box?
[:[00:42:45] Frank Roll III: can dude, but if they keep that key, like, so yeah, the second one, like, I don't, I'm not watching the trailer, but since you've told me if the key doesn't get used, that's just leaving the door wide open for a third or more in the series. Like, like you mentioned, God, dude, that's genius.
[:[00:43:15] Scott Moran: for. How'd you like that super soaker seed?
[:[00:43:18] Frank Roll III: always this part of me though. You ever put gasoline in plastic? Gasoline will eat through a lot of plastics. It could have
[:[00:43:24] Frank Roll III: kerosene. It was in that big tin. It could
[:[00:43:31] Frank Roll III: long. It would last a while. Like, I'll tell you, gasoline will eat right through, especially, will eat through a Dixie cup.
[:[00:43:52] Frank Roll III: It's a fucking super soaker flamethrower. Like, that's. It's everybody's dream come true, right? Is that not on everybody's wish list? Um, but no, I was just waiting for her to fuck him up and he knew it was coming. I love how she was so smart.
[:[00:44:11] Scott Moran: Because when she sets the trap with the dog in the van and then she hits him with the car. And then she doesn't know how to stop the car. Yes!
[:[00:44:21] Scott Moran: Yeah, and I can say from experience that not everybody knows how to drive a car when they're 13, 14 years old. Or a van. Or a van that belongs to your friend's mother's work.
[:[00:44:41] Frank Roll III: all you gotta do is just back a van out of a driveway. Didn't know how to do that. It's okay. It's in the past. We all, we all move forward. No, um, and even when she's like making threats at the beginning, like I went to the neighbor's house.
[:[00:45:02] Scott Moran: at the beginning, but
[:[00:45:11] Scott Moran: just ran.
[:[00:45:35] Scott Moran: It's probably gonna happen this year. Okay, I'm down. How about the the lawnmower was almost The boat prop over again. It was, but
[:[00:45:46] Scott Moran: kill. And it was a different kind of lawnmower. You don't see that very often unless you're way out in the middle of nowhere.
[:[00:45:52] Frank Roll III: got like this, um, like a trailer deck behind like an ATV. And, uh, but the cut, it took his fucking face off. Face. You know, Dominique Swain was in a movie called face off. No, just play, just play, but the cut, it was his face and it stopped like right about the throat, but then it, even like the skull wasn't completely like the skull slipped a little to where the brain, cause you know, it's a blade.
[:[00:46:22] Scott Moran: after that. I liked that the brain was a bluish color. It wasn't a pink, gooey, it didn't look like Krang from Ninja Turtles. You know what I mean? Yes. Um. Let's hope that Seth Rogen puts that shit in this new Ninja Turtles movie.
[:[00:46:40] Frank Roll III: him talking about it, but I really haven't seen anything else outside of that.
[:[00:46:53] Frank Roll III: Can I still find a Blu ray somewhere? And then I
[:[00:47:02] Scott Moran: Like, I guess I've made up for my, I guess she just fucking shoots him
[:[00:47:14] Scott Moran: movie. She killed him without hesitation.
[:[00:47:21] Frank Roll III: She won the first
[:[00:47:40] Scott Moran: That's premeditated right there. That is very, very quick thinking. Of course, she also should have had a cut on her nose, so who knows how long it passed before the social worker and the sheriff were interviewing her. How about
[:[00:47:56] Scott Moran: end?
[:[00:48:03] Frank Roll III: Yeah. Man, I was like, YERRRR
[:[00:48:11] Frank Roll III: shit. And, and she'll definitely be, you know, we were talking about how Mia Goth has found her. Her groove? Lulu definitely could find her groove and carry it a very
[:[00:48:20] Scott Moran: And she's only 18. She apparently received this script when she was 11. No shit. Yeah, and it took that long to get the movie made. Nah
[:[00:48:42] Scott Moran: forward.
[:[00:49:04] Scott Moran: It's not as strong as it used to be.
[:[00:49:12] Scott Moran: don't put Sudafed in it anymore.
[:[00:49:17] Scott Moran: pharmacy and buy Sudafed and get all fucking hyped up.
[:[00:49:35] Scott Moran: It was a Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem. And my grandmother used to say it all the time when I was a kid. And when she said that in this movie, I was fully in love with the movie.
[:[00:49:53] Scott Moran: I really like that you liked this movie and that you didn't, like, carry that through the whole
[:[00:49:59] Frank Roll III: No, I let it go because this was so well done. Can
[:[00:50:05] Frank Roll III: different feel. That character would have been different.
[:[00:50:10] Frank Roll III: You know, watch it go to something that's like, nothing. You know what I mean? Like, it's like a box from... We need
[:[00:50:26] Scott Moran: Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Or it's another key. Oh that'd be really funny. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
[:[00:50:37] Frank Roll III: deep. And then are we gonna do like a fucking like ruthless indie like Da Vinci Code, Home Alone, Die Hard?
[:[00:50:50] Frank Roll III: What, did, were they saying Brotherhood?
[:[00:50:57] Scott Moran: think the tattoo on his hand had something to do with the tattoo on his chest. And that it was some
[:[00:51:07] Frank Roll III: Yeah,
[:[00:51:09] Frank Roll III: if they weren't? What if there's like,
[:[00:51:21] Frank Roll III: You take this off!
[:[00:51:27] Frank Roll III: racist. I mean, you could guess it, but it's like what, you know, hearing those stories that we heard, I I think
[:[00:51:37] Frank Roll III: makes it even worse.
[:[00:51:43] Frank Roll III: rage gets that out of control?
[:[00:51:48] Frank Roll III: Well, I mean, we've seen Kevin James as a Neo Nazi now. Um, he won't be in the sequel. Unless the key does
[:[00:52:02] Scott Moran: There's going to be another Indiana Jones movie, you know there fucking is. When Harrison dies, they'll make another one. Well, I mean. They'll find some young buck to play Indiana Jones. That's a great thing. Chris Pratt. I thought that would have been fine.
[:[00:52:16] Frank Roll III: But they'll do it.
