you're listening to the creative teacher podcast, a show for busy teachers looking for ways to engage, inspire and make an impact in their teacher businesses. I'm Kiersten, a teacher business owner who is all about simple and actionable tips, strategies and resources that result in wins, big or small. If you're looking for that extra spark of creativity, you've come to the right place. Let's dive in together.

Oh guys, we have made it to the end of May. Literally in a couple of days, we've got June, one of my favorite months because that means summertime. So I hope as TPT sellers and or as teachers, you are really taking the summer to focus on yourself and your needs, I am going to just give you some updates and just share with you what you could do to maximize your summer. So thinking about ways to revive or refresh your TPT versus your business and really more importantly yourself. But this is going to be kind of a recap of the season we've had on the creative teacher podcasts of season one. So I kind of envisioned this as kind of like a reflection a little bit thinking about if you ever watch a TV show or something like that there's always that last episode in the season. And they are like reflecting you they have scenes that are cut from earlier. I'm kind of doing that with this episode where I'm mentioning, really memorable episodes in this season and kind of tying in for how you can maximize your summer. And I want to just share with you before summer break starts, what you can do to maximize your summer. So we'll talk about five things you can do. And the fifth one is the most important. So stick till the end.

All right, number one would be to review data and make a plan, take the time to really look into what has been working well for you to store where your traffic's coming from. And really decide, you know, use that data to drive what you're going to do next with the resources you create, or you know, the type of platforms you're going to focus on. Think really deeply about that. A couple of episodes ago, Episode 39. I talked about BDE Big Data energy and it was workshop style. I recommend re listening or you know if you haven't already listening to that episode about how you can use data to drive creation in your business. So that's tip number one.

Number two is to update your listings. I really am a big fan of product photography I talk about all the time and you know it because it works so well. I'm telling you like I've done all of them. I've done screenshots I've done mock ups, I've done photos, and even I'm kind of cringing because I took some photos last year and I'm looking at them now and they are just not that great but they still convert better than before those photos. I'm not saying to go out and take photos of every single resource in your store just at least you know some of those times up resources. But at the same time, you want to make it look like it's visually appealing. If you don't feel comfortable taking the photos, then definitely hire out. But I do have an episode that I shared episode 37 DIY your product photography. And I tell you know, some tips on what you need to really DIY your product photography successfully and some strategies that have worked for me in my business. So 37, check that one out. Another thing you can do to update your listings is to just take a look at your top sellers, top five, top 10. And make sure you have important essentials in your product listing. In episode number 29, do you have these essentials in your product listings, I share with you a lot of checklist style I share with you what you really need to think about, you know, how many tags is too many tags, and our tagging standards important, what we really want to make sure to have checked before we actually list it, this is a really good time to go back and check those top five or top 10 product listings that are selling the best in your store and seeing what you can do to tweak those whether it's just the preview, whether it's the thumbnails, or maybe you just need to fix the tagging,

ear's conference TPT, forward:

Number four, learn from others to improve your store. So get those earbuds in with your drink of choice and maybe a margarita by the pool. And just learn how you can improve your store. There's so many great TPT sellers that are sharing information just like I do for you. And I'm so honored and so happy and blessed that you have tuned in whether it's for one episode or two or you've listened all season. I think it's so amazing that you know you're you're here with me and able to get tips or inspiration and implement things that I share with you in your businesses. So I'm going to share with you the top five downloaded episodes from season one, our very first season here in this podcast. I'm gonna go from five to one of course number five, episode number 35 product listing tips and tricks. This was a Facebook Live that I had done. And there were some q&a days and it's just really great A q&a that I participated in number four, Episode 32. Using contrast to increase product cover conversion rates, this is a really great episode to listen to you if you're looking for ways to increase your conversion rates before the back to school season, it's definitely a great thing you could do. Number three, Episode 27, creating a click worthy lead magnet. If you're kind of been wanting to start that email list and you know, you don't know where to start, check out this episode, it kind of gives you an idea of how you even get people on your email list in the first place. But if you're wanting to really get into your email marketing, this is a really great episode to listen to. So you can get a high converting lead magnet that your audience or target audience wants. Number two, Episode 30 creating resources teachers really need with my sister in law, Megan hunt. And it was a really great conversation. I am like I need to bring her back. Maybe that's what I need to bring her back so she can talk more with me on you know what's happening in the teacher world. But I love that this is the second most downloaded, she was really excited to hear that you know, a lot of people really enjoyed this episode, I got a lot of comments on it in my DMs. So and then number one top downloaded episode from season one would be episode 26 SEO tips for teacher sellers with Kristin Doyle. I think this is a fantastic conversation with Kristen, talking about SEO because we all know that it's a you know, hot topic with our TPT stores and our websites and our blogs. And we want to be top of mind top in the search results. So if you would want to listen to another episode again, definitely check that one out, really all of them. Of course, I'm going to make sure all of these episodes that I mentioned from season one are linked in the show notes and on my blog. So definitely check that out.

But I'm gonna go into tip number five. And I think this is probably the most important of all, if you stick around till the end, thank you this is your creative action tip as well is to relax and enjoy your summer. Two things can be done at once you can revive and refresh your TPT business. But you can also take time for yourself and enjoy your summer maybe it's going to you know on a vacation, maybe or just maybe you're closing your laptop and you are kind of taking a little hiatus. Maybe that's something that you need to do. I'm trying to share information of what you can do in all aspects. If you want to really just unplug get away from teaching TPT maybe you want to do it all this is your time to really get focused and really get into the resources you want to create and all those product listings. You want to update. I'm one of those people I love doing that. But I also want to you know, I don't want to overwork myself, I want to enjoy the summer I think it's so important to re fresh yourself. Not just your TPT business but also yourself. So definitely take the time to do that self care whether it's doing a mani pedi, you know, reading a book that's not related to education, and just not thinking about school. All of the above. There's no right or wrong way to really do this. But I wanted to kind of end season one with some you know, things that you can do if you want to do at all or if you don't want to do anything. It's totally up to you. I'm all about doing what works best for you and your business as I've you know, say a lot.

All right, well, I am going to be signing off for the next couple of months I'm going to be spending time with my family working on my own business and taking some of these tips to heart maybe less relisting to some of these episodes as well learning from others. And I've got a really great season to plan for you in the fall. If you follow me on Instagram at the southern teach dot designs. I cannot wait to talk to you again in the fall. I hope you enjoy your summer. I hope you have a great time. I will talk to you weekend's
