The Taste Buds review the final episode of the first (and only?) season of Helstrom!
On an all-new episode of the Superhero Hour Hour, Cassie has requested the week off, so Mike is taking over. Sure...Ryan is still here, and that sucks for Mike, but Mike has invited his good friend Tompkins, and together this triumvirate will say goodbye to Helstrom for the year, and possibly forever! They discuss the differences between the comic and the television show, and wonder why those changes were made. And is it okay for the tenth episode of a series that dropped all at once to not really be an episode, but instead the tenth hour of a long movie? All of these are excellent questions, and obviously, they are answered spectacularly on this episode.
Then the Taste Buds turn their focus to Marvel's 616, a new Disney+ show that highlights all of the ways different people love Marvel. The first episode focuses on a Japanese Spider-Man tv show. The creators of the show replaced Aunt May and Mary Jane with things that Japanese kids were into, like Spider-Cars, and spaceships in the shape of the Sphinx, and giant robots with swords. And then of course there's Walking Dead corner, where they discuss this week's episodes of Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
And then they take a trip to X-TASmania, and review episode 105 of X-Men: The Animated Series, Captive Hearts! Jean and Cyclops' date is ruined by a run-in with the sewer-dwelling Morlocks! When they get kidnapped, it's up to the rest of the X-Men to save them. Meanwhile, Storm has to deal with her claustrophobia and Wolverine has to deal with his horniness for Jean Grey.
All of this, and so much more, on an all-new The Superhero Show Show!
