Steven Webb:
00:00:00
Welcome to Journey to Deep Sleep, a guided meditation to help you fall asleep and stay asleep until
Steven Webb:
00:00:08
morning.
Steven Webb:
00:00:13
My name is Steven Webb and just before you begin this meditation, I would like to warn you. This meditation
Steven Webb:
00:00:20
will induce sleep. You will fall asleep in your mind and body. So please do not listen to this if
Steven Webb:
00:00:27
you're driving or doing anything that requires your attention. attention
Steven Webb:
00:00:49
I'm going to help you on a journey to fall into a deep sleep. Now, although this will be really
Steven Webb:
00:00:56
effective from the first time you listen, over the next few weeks, if you listen to this nightly, it will
Steven Webb:
00:01:03
become more and more effective and you will fall asleep faster.
Steven Webb:
00:01:10
So it's worth taking note of this meditation so that you can come back to it night after night.
Steven Webb:
00:01:20
Also, it's important to note that if you miss a few of my words or miss a few of the
Steven Webb:
00:01:25
instructions, it doesn't matter. The whole idea is that you fall asleep. The whole idea is that you feel comfortable
Steven Webb:
00:01:33
and you get the gift of a wonderful good night's sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:01:44
So wiggle your body into the bed now. Just allow your body to become a little heavier.
Steven Webb:
00:01:57
And the first thing we're going to do is just do a couple of affirmations, just to let your mind
Steven Webb:
00:02:03
and your subconscious mind know that it's safe to fall asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:02:13
And after I say the affirmation just repeat them in your mind a few times and feel them throughout your
Steven Webb:
00:02:19
whole body. And the first one is, I feel safe, secure, and ready to fall asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:02:29
I feel safe, secure, and ready to fall asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:02:44
Everything is perfect in this moment for me to fall asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:02:52
Everything is perfect in this moment for me to fall asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:03:18
And now we're going to allow the body to fall asleep. And we do this by just doing a little
Steven Webb:
00:03:26
tense up with the body and then a relaxing This is a way that when the body falls asleep, the
Steven Webb:
00:03:33
mind can then follow.
Steven Webb:
00:03:37
So you can start with your toes. Just tense your toes. And hold it for a moment. And then release
Steven Webb:
00:03:44
and allow them to relax.
Steven Webb:
00:03:50
And then tense up your legs and hold it. Hold it.
Steven Webb:
00:03:56
And allow your legs to relax. And
Steven Webb:
00:04:01
now we'll do it with the abdomen and all that area. Just tense it all up
Steven Webb:
00:04:09
And then allow it to relax.
Steven Webb:
00:04:13
And now do your shoulders and your arms and your hands. Tense
Steven Webb:
00:04:18
them really up a lot. And
Steven Webb:
00:04:22
then just let them relax.
Steven Webb:
00:04:27
And now just do your face and your head.
Steven Webb:
00:04:31
And now just let it relax.
Steven Webb:
00:04:35
And now we're going to do the whole body. Just tense you from your toes right up to your head.
Steven Webb:
00:04:41
Squeeze your eyes. Squeeze your face. And
Steven Webb:
00:04:45
now just allow your whole body to relax into this moment. Imagine it becoming heavier on the bed.
Steven Webb:
00:04:53
And now we'll just focus on the rhythm of your breath.
Steven Webb:
00:04:59
Just the rise and fall of your chest.
Steven Webb:
00:05:05
You don't need to do anything with your breath. Just observe.
Steven Webb:
00:05:18
Every time you breathe in, imagine a calmness entering your body.
Steven Webb:
00:05:32
And as you breathe out, imagine all the tension leaving.
Steven Webb:
00:05:50
And allowing your body to relax and allowing your breath to be what it is. You don't have to do
Steven Webb:
00:05:56
anything with it. Your body knows what to do.
Steven Webb:
00:06:01
You've prepared your mind and subconscious mind for sleep. You've prepared your body. We're just falling asleep now.
Steven Webb:
00:06:20
Now you can visualize a calm forest.
Steven Webb:
00:06:25
Tranquil and soothing,
Steven Webb:
00:06:32
walking up a long, soft path.
Steven Webb:
00:06:36
Your steps are light with every step.
Steven Webb:
00:06:51
You feel more relaxed and more at peace as you continue into the forest.
Steven Webb:
00:07:14
As any thoughts come into your mind, visualize them as falling leaves from the trees.
Steven Webb:
00:07:26
Just observe them and acknowledge them. And then let them fall to the ground.
Steven Webb:
00:07:33
And at that point, just return to your breath.
Steven Webb:
00:07:44
You may notice your breath getting deeper and slower.
Steven Webb:
00:08:08
Now we'll start a countdown from 10. And with each decrease in number, let yourself sink deeper into sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:08:32
Imagine yourself walking down a huge, wide, soft staircase.
Steven Webb:
00:08:38
Each step is like a huge, fluffy cloud.
Steven Webb:
00:08:53
And with each step, it takes you deeper and deeper into sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:09:11
10. Feel your body becoming heavy, sinking into the bed.
Steven Webb:
00:09:27
9. A wave of calmness is spreading to every cell of your body
Steven Webb:
00:09:47
8. Your breath is becoming slower and deeper
Steven Webb:
00:10:11
7. Any tension is melting away from your muscles
Steven Webb:
00:10:35

00:10:37
Your thoughts are becoming quieter and more distant
Steven Webb:
00:11:05
5. Quiet calmness is everywhere around
Steven Webb:
00:11:39
you. Your body is fully relaxed now.
Steven Webb:
00:12:18
Your mind is quiet, ready for sleep
Steven Webb:
00:12:49
2.
Steven Webb:
00:12:50
You're almost fast asleep, ready to surrender.
Steven Webb:
00:13:43
Let go completely, and drift into the peaceful arms of a beautiful night's sleep.
