Faye Dawson doesn’t really know who she is anymore! She says she never wanted to define herself by her work but now wonders if she’s done just that.
From wanting to be an actor at the age of 7, then training, jobbing and falling out with the idea at 25, she fell into PR aged 30 and really found her dream job. For over 20 years she worked in PR in entertainment, leisure, theatre, and hospitality - four years and 11 months of that time were spent running her one-woman Comms Consultancy - Faye Dawson PR (FDPR) - from her spare bedroom in West Leeds. That was until April of this year when she wrapped up with her last client.
Siting with burnout, a loss of passion, and a need for solace, Faye picked up a suitably mundane data inputting job and added a part time administration role with the wonderful Leeds-based charity Zarach. Both are work from home jobs which suits Faye at the moment as she gets to be with her black Labrador Buddy and Stanley-the-Cat. It also means she can operate flexible hours.
Faye writes for Projecting Grief an online gallery that explores the use of creativity to help grief - you can find out more at www.projectinggrief.com or follow them on Insta @projecting_grief
And she is in a pool of media spokespeople for The Miscarriage Association focussing on early miscarriage.
Faye describes herself as an avid storyteller and a wannabe writer.
