Ephesians 2:10
Welcome to 12-Minute Converse with Jesus Believers.
Speaker:God chose first to have a conversation with us, his creation.
Speaker:Our prayer is that this listening space brings growth and transforms your life forever.
Speaker:Praise God for you, Pastor Joshua.
Speaker:It's a great pleasure to connect with you.
Speaker:What part of the world are you in today?
Speaker:Connecting from South Africa, the urban city along the south coast of the Indian Ocean.
Speaker:I'd love to know what led you to become a pastor.
Speaker:It is according at my early age, in doing my primary school year and then transcending to secondary.
Speaker:I have many other visions that I wish I could do in regard to career.
Speaker:But when I completed my secondary, preparing to enroll into university, my dream was to become an IT specialist.
Speaker:But then I really experienced some limitations in enrolling into that particular field, not knowing that it was God's purpose for me not to involve myself into that, but to keep focused on the path of destiny.
Speaker:And then at my early age, from secondary, there was a great desire.
Speaker:I was always searched into music department.
Speaker:I was a musician, a leader.
Speaker:And then suddenly, I just began to have more understanding about how God wants me to live in this life that he has granted me.
Speaker:And so from that, the passion for ministry, I began to develop.
Speaker:And the desire of doing the work of God was my major focus.
Speaker:All the other things that I was once desiring suddenly just left me and the only desire that was on my heart was to do the work of God.
Speaker:And so this is where I am at currently.
Speaker:You found the hill that you die on, is that correct?
Speaker:Definitely.
Speaker:So what does daily work in the church look like today?
Speaker:In the church today, the daily work is most often on souls winning and discipleship.
Speaker:Yeah, that's where actually my focus is in regard to the fulfilling of the great commissions.
Speaker:So I'm doing all by the grace of God to do that which I have been commended by the Lord Jesus in his word that I should go and make disciples of all nations.
Speaker:So it's what my focus is in ministry.
Speaker:On an average, what does the population tend to follow from a religion perspective?
Speaker:Yes, within my vocation, the dominant of the population, they are Christian.
Speaker:They are Christian, and then we have less of the population who are divided.
Speaker:Some are mostly Hindus and those of the ancestral worship.
Speaker:Yes, but the majority, they are Christian within where And what did you end up studying or did you simply self-study to be part of the ministry?
Speaker:When I was enrolling into university, as I said earlier, I wanted to do IT, and then I realized that it was not what God wanted me to do.
Speaker:And then I have to enroll for a theological study.
Speaker:And then that's where I began my theological journey from first year up to my final year.
Speaker:And then I completed my bachelor's degree at the end of the 30 years.
Speaker:And then from there forward again, I proceeded for my master in Christian education, and then completed and also received my qualification.
Speaker:Has it been worth it?
Speaker:Indeed, it has been worthy of achieving all those educational knowledge because it's really helpful in doing the work of God, knowing that just being called by God, you don't only just base on the issue of, okay, the Holy Spirit will help me.
Speaker:Yes, indeed, the Holy Spirit will help, but He reminds us He's our guide and He's our teacher.
Speaker:So what we have learned practically or not, He's there to remind us to guide us.
Speaker:So I have seen that based on my educational journey that indeed it is worthy to be able and be educated as a minister of the gospel.
Speaker:So we've talked about you listening to the voice of God and not choosing the route that you initially thought you wanted to go on.
Speaker:Did you end up getting married or are you a single person at this point?
Speaker:I got married after the completion of my BTH.
Speaker:I got married.
Speaker:Tell me about your wife and how she supports the ministry, please.
Speaker:Yes, indeed.
Speaker:You see, during my school year of the Bible mission, my wife to be at that time was also a student and luckily it was just a divine appointment for the both of us.
Speaker:We came in the same year.
Speaker:We started from our first year and we were in the same class together.
Speaker:In our first year, we never discovered that we were meant to be together.
Speaker:In our second year as well, we never discovered we were meant to be together.
Speaker:Now, lastly, at our final year and I now went to the law because I wanted to be established maritally upon the completion of my study.
Speaker:So I began to ask the law to show me who exactly the person that he wants me to settle with because he has called me and I need a helper.
Speaker:And that is how the law just revealed to me this beautiful flower that this is a person that you have to be settled with.
Speaker:And I went and approached and I began to see the sign indeed that God was really into that relationship of engagement.
Speaker:And I saw the peace into that, the acceptance, and from there we started praying first of all that God should guide us in the decision that we are planning to make.
Speaker:And then we truly submitted it unto God and then we graduated after that.
Speaker:The law just made all things possible and then we got married and now we are together doing the work of God.
Speaker:That's amazing.
Speaker:Congratulations.
Speaker:So what is on the horizon for you?
Speaker:Mostly focusing on this on source winning and discipleship.
Speaker:And so in this month of April and to the rest of the month in the year 2026 that we are in, I'm focusing on doing a cross-border outreach.
Speaker:And so we are planning that and hopefully we trust God for us to take this step and reach to the other neighboring country around us, South Africa, and that we can be able to make our discipleship with those people that the law might lead us to the work that we are doing.
Speaker:How close is the neighboring country?
Speaker:Another five, especially from where I'm, the province that I'm in, is not that far from East Suatini, which is about a less than thousand kilometer journey by car if you're traveling by road.
Speaker:We also have Mozambique and then Namibia, they are all around the Lesotho.
Speaker:I'm also closer to Lesotho where I'm against almost about 450 kilometers away by road if we travel by road.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:That sounds like tremendously far for me though, right?
Speaker:But I guess everything's spread out because of how large the continent is, right?
Speaker:But a thousand kilometers or 450 kilometers, it's a full tank of gas here in Trinidad.
Speaker:Like you'd get to the other side of the island and back, right?
Speaker:In less than that for sure.
Speaker:But I can just imagine how large the continent is.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:So let's imagine five years from today, you're listening to this recording, this conversation.
Speaker:What's a message you'd leave for future you?
Speaker:I believe that in years to come and you who might listen to this message, I believe some that have their own personal goal, what they want to do in life.
Speaker:I believe if they are experiencing some other limitation or hindrances in what they desire to pursue, they will realize that, no, I need to seek God's guidance in destiny and do that which God wants me to do.
Speaker:So from my own personal testimony, I believe it will also help some of those youth that will come in the generation ahead of us.
Speaker:Well, Pastor Joshua, I appreciate you passing by, having a conversation with us, sharing your testimony of how God has led you and kept you and made you who you are today.
Speaker:In closing, is there anything else you'd like to share with our amazing audience?
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:What I just want to show the audience is that, you know, in everything that we do, especially for God in this life, we must always put Him first in every decision that we make, in every action that we take, because when we put God first, then we can be able to do exactly what He wants us to do, and then our way will be prosperous.
Speaker:Again, Pastor Joshua, thank you for being on What is Inspired by 12 Minute Converse.
