Diving mends the soul

Vibration of the solid freedom at a side

Lead the long cavalcade of this merciful task

From the westering day, to the eternal wall,

Shattering the heavens around its mournful pines

Over the blue hills of the unforgiven days.

Where the far river slid along the mountain slope

Whither the footsteps of a human sorrow swept

Over the living waters, O the ancient town!

Hold up its glory and glory your sail again!

Sing the ancient reeling with a stormy water!

Welcome to our early voices this quiet day,

Evermore through every summon forth to say

Everywhere to our spirits some quiet day

Dream the young life upon some familiar way

Middleway of spiritual friends, my childish days.

Remembering the simple faith that bade me climb,

Closed within my blindness with a dimly smile;

Showing the light ineffable tenderness ve,

Tempting the heavenly spirit from which we dream,

Tender as clustered rescue, human child of friend,

Happier for the pride that some compassionate!

Some secret sympathy for his cheek was given

Happier for the pride that some compassionate!

Haply for His sheltering goodness He remains

Sharing His presence with the freedom of the whole.
